I knew a lady who came from there. She passed away before her time. It’s a sad story and a cautionary tale of avoiding stray animals. Rabies is fatal 100% if the time if not immediately treated, and even then the odds of dying are scary.

      >Rabies is fatal 100% if the time if not immediately treated,
      True
      >and even then the odds of dying are scary.
If you get the post exposure shot within the next day or so, your odds of catching it is near 0%. The worst part is that a lot of people end up getting bit by bats in their sleep and never even notice.

I moved to Minnesota recently and I'm coming under the impression that Duluth is literally heaven on Earth (I live in Minneapolis). Any Duluth anons want to confirm? I am becoming a Duluthboo. Think about it:
    >on lake big enough to be ocean from human perspective, so coastline, and beautiful coastline with cliffs unlike illinois/wisconsin and lake michigan
    >like 90% white
    >somewhat hilly so nice lake view houses
    >still really cheap real estate

Only issue is getting a job there somehow, but seems wonderful otherwise.

      >coastline
      yea true.
      >90% white
Theirs an Indian reserve nearby + blacks come here for school and act like blacks. + the whites are urbanite San Francisco type homosexuals
      >somewhat hilly/lake view houses
STEEP hills, this city doesn't salt the roads effectively in the winter (which is brutal due to lake effect snow) so you risk death when driving because people here are brain dead. Lake view houses are really expensive. Cheap real-estate is in or near hermantown.
      >cheap real-estate.
some Black personhomosexual at CNN published an article that Duluth is a great "climateproof" town so all the homosexual Californians and other urbanites are moving here. So this is rapidly becoming NOT the case.

      tldr. Overrated

Look at the most recent extreme heatwave in Minnesota. Maybe it really is "heatwave proof"

As long as you're right next to the lake its pretty protected but once you move even a little bit inland the humidity is brutal. Last summer it was almost 115° with humidity when I biked through Ironwood.

At one point in time Duluth had the most millionaires per capita in the united states because of the shipping lanes. Probably not true anymore but it's basically just boring passive-aggressive scandinavians sprinkled with 2nd or 3rd generation wealth that's slowly running out that gives everyone a sense of dread. But the nature is top notch.

I'm a MNgay from the cities but usually go by Duluth every once in a while, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. Just as far as things to do goes:
    >great city if you're an /n/ autist, there's of course the lift bridge and lake for the boats but also a pretty good railroad museum
    >Great Lakes Aquarium is ok but nothing remarkable
    >Canal Park is usually home to various festivals/concerts/events though some events like Bentleyville have been commercialized to death
    >Glensheen Manor milks the absolute shit out of the murders that took place but is otherwise not super remarkable
    >residents are kind of insufferable; more or less like Californian shitlibs but in flannel and sperging out about craft beer and local indie artists making the same folk music slop
The real appeal of Duluth is being a gateway to the rest of the north shore. Lots of nice smaller towns with great views and comfy atmospheres. There are some god tier state parks along the shore, and fantastic hiking and camping in the Superior National Forest.

The main problem is Duluth continues to be on people's radar and more transplants are moving in, and so the north shore grows more soulless every year. It's far, FAR better than the Twin Cities, but it will eventually lose all of its charm.

That's my grievance with it. It's turning into a low rent portland/seattle.

It's always been a low rent portland/seattle. Electric Fetus started in Duluth.

Everyone I know who grew up in Duluth and the area is cool. Sure, it's changing, but it was always on this trajectory. Duluth vs. the rest of St. Louis County:

as someone else said: party in Duluth, drive north for miles of forest* and lakeshore, wet your line in a lake, go all the way to Grand Marais where the Ojibwe cut off cell phone service.

*this remarkable forest, still teeming, is a remnant of what it was pre-19th Century.

I pity your generation. This girl is clearly dtf and you can't even make the distinction.

    Land of contrasts:

A lot of early EDM scene in Minnesota migrated from Duluth to the Twin Cities, mostly drum and bass.

I bought a Stonewall Jackson poster in Duluth.

people from california are not moving to duluth minnesota. much easier for them to infect and destroy idaho and montana, and those have better climates.
