    it's money laundering

This. It dawned on me the other day that influencers just write things off in taxes as "business expenses" since their business is their youtube channel and that's how they afford their luxurious lifestyles, until they make enough in ad revenue + sponsorships to not need to launder as much.

do you know what writing off a business expense means? do you think it's free?

        >Crime syndicate needs to clean 50k
        >Make an LLC, find a semi established personality
        >convince personality to let LLC be an investor to them
        >you get X dollars for a vid, plus Y dollars hush money, we get ad revenue and you buy Z luxury asset on trip and gift it to us
        >funds now circulating and integrating internationally, clean income to LLC
        >personality gets to be in limelight until they become washed up and a new personality is invested in

Not buying it, tbh. The ad revenue is easily traced. Also, 50k is nothing for all this effort.

            Anonymous

Point is the ad revenue is cleaned and wouldn’t be traced. It’s just repaying an investors loan after all. Get a sponsor or two, make the channel look like a legitimate business on paper. Google isn’t going to request a federal audit and they don’t have direct viewing of people’s bank statements. An LLC can have multiple personalities and accounts at different banks and different countries if they needed to layer further before and after integration. Even make LLCs for each personality if needed. More people = more smurfing potential. The 314(b) requests would be overwhelming unless glowies felt it worth their time to investigate. Doesn’t even need to be an American company, it’s even easier done somewhere that FATF doesn’t like.

Its not money laundering, but its borderline tax fraud.
      >set up bullshit Youtuber LLC
      >pay for expensive travel
      >deduct it as a business expense, so now everything you spent on vacation and flights is not reported as taxable income
      >youtube revenue likely produce net loss anyway reducing tax paid on that income anyway
In the end, it isn't free and youtube isn't paying that well, but its paying just enough that after tax trickery you end up taking a net loss comparable to ordinary traveling. If a 2 week trip to asia in economy costs you $4k, but he can get a 2 week megalux cruise at $4k after deductions and ad revenue down from $13k, then yeah that's a pretty good deal. The downside is if the IRS comes at you, its going to be a nightmare proving it is all a business expense and zero personal benefit/enjoyment which would NOT be tax deductable.

These people are already wealthy. Making a youtube video about your gorillion dollar plane ticket allows you to write the cost off as a business expense, saving on taxes.

    >luxury train itinerary
Sounds pretty dope. Rent your own private car for three months, move all your shit into it, have it dropped in whatever city you want to visit, then transported to the next destination when you want to go there. When I last traveled Amtrak in the USA, we hauled a private car for a stretch of the journey.

A lot of them are booking these tickets on points, mistake fares, or a whim when they're discounted.

A lot are just subsidising the life style. Especially the ones that never get past 5 figures

However a 45min video can mean a lot of ads. 5 or so vids on a holiday with 250,000 views could mean 2.5-5k dollars a vid. Sponsorships could double that. Travel is one of the most lucrative keywords too

      Anonymous

I am somewhat skeptical of this. If travel is so lucrative why have so many of the parger yt travelers just stopped completely?

I am fairly willing yo bet there are more overwatch millionaires than travel, and i dont think anyone even plays overwatch anymore

The ads dont key in yo the video you're watching. They key into specific user information, and the video is just an excuse to force you to watch it. I seriously doubt travelers have higher user engagement in the content than other demographics.

If you didnt just make that shit up, then please provide some info on the issue

        >If travel is so lucrative why have so many of the parger yt travelers just stopped completely?
because 24/7 travel is fricking exhausting.
regardless of if you're rich or not, it's not fun for most people to just constantly be on the move, never settling, never having a home, not having any long-term meaningful human connections, having to plan where you're going next, what will be good for "content", where you'll sleep, eat, shit, etc, etc.

Should I make a travel israelitetoob channel? How can I distinguish myself from others?

      Anonymous

I was thinking about making a travel TikTok. I've never used TikTok but I went on a three month euro-trip and am thinking about just squeezing as much out of it as I can. Doing shit like:
      >TOP 5 TIPS FOR TRAVELLING AROUND ATHENS
      >TOP 3 PLACES TO VISIT IN MUNICH
      >MY GUIDE TO THE BEST HOTELS IN ROME WHICH DEFINITELY ISN'T JUST A TRIPADVISOR LIST
      >How can I distinguish myself from others?
Do Western Europe. It's severely underrepresented on travel channels because it's deemed too "touristy" but if you basically copied what Bald and Bankrupt did but in the countryside of France or something you'd probably get some good content.

        Anonymous

The problem with doing Western Europe is that in order to go viral you need to say negative things about the places. Right now the vibe is that Western Europe is overrated shitholes like that one dude who made the Tiktok of Paris being a ghetto. You have to understand this is a Chinese app that will be happy to skew the algorithm to you if you say negative things about the area + the demographic of zoomers will love it when you talk about how spiceless England is frfr. Otherwise you ngmi unless you go elsewhere to trending locations.

      1. Be low inhibition, if you aren't it's over
      2. Go to risky locations / shit holes / places nobody bothers to go to in more popular countries
      3. Don't be ugly

The whole trip seems incredibly bad value. And he did a video about the same train last year when he was in the suite with a real queen sized bed and a full bathroom so it felt like a downgrade.

It is horrendous value. Like your ticket is a PDF and he even shows the old ticket which looks way nicer and more prestigious. There's nothing special about it in comparison to other fancy trains.

It seems cool. why is it 50k dollars though. what the frick. anyone rich would just buy a plane ticket

It's for rich people who are retired and just want to waste time/money before they get old, or for newly rich people that want to spend money. The real richies buy a yacht and sail around france/italy

Nobody, rich or poor, is taking a train all the way across europe just in order to get to the destination.
It's a more quirky and exclusive cruise.

Truth is they are not making as much money as you think and a number of them come from an affluent background already, run scams, fake it, or have sponsors pushing them. They can't stop because they would lose their entire income. Sponsors do more than just gift you items, they get you views, likes, comments, and funds to produce content that you then owe them. It's like TLC being platinum sellers but broke.

lol I am watching his train video right now. It's neat enough to watch but I am doing roughly the same thing next spring and it's going to cost me $475 in tickets.

The problem with the regular people who take these trips is they think they are special, but everyone else knows they are just fricking moronic.

This is how to do travel vlogs right:

    >go on your first sabbatical (paid leave, study abroad, daddy's money, savings etc.)

    >travel to somewhere cheap, sketchy & trendy (SE Asia, Middle East, South America, East Africa)

    >walk around the market haggling for weird food & trinkets

    >film enough content for 5-7 pre-recorded videos, about 30-45 minutes each

    >use clickbait like "AVOID THIS SCAMMER IN X!", "$0.25 HAIRCUT IN X", "EATING THE BUG + LIVING IN THE POD IN X!", "RED LIGHT DISTRICT X", "SOLO IN THE DANGEROUS SLUMS OF X"

    >Nothing actually has to happen except maybe 1-2 encounters but should go viral because people in those countries love looking up their city on Youtube to see what Westerners think of them

    >get enough subscribers and views for adsense

    >after editing your vlogs (don't need to overdo it because they need to be long enough for ads) your pre-recorded videos should already be scheduled for upload once a week, meanwhile you should be saving or already traveling to your next place. Unless you are rich, you don't have enough quite yet.

    >Also you NEED to be uploading memey highlight clips to Tiktok, Shorts, Reels, and Facebook. That's where the market is right now. Make sure you link Youtube.

    >Go to another cheap place and do the same thing 2-3 more times.

    >Go on pre-planned excursions like going on a safari or climbing pyramids. More pricier, but more in demand

    >Get sponsorships. Don't just take anything or you will come off as a hack. Try to make it travel related

    >Set up a discord server, reddit, & Patreon. Lead them on so they will have to pay a measley $5/month to watch exclusive vlogs

    >Review luxury resorts & flights then write them off as a business expense.

    >At this point people will find you unrelatable so put on a gray hoodie & make a sad video talking about your divorce with your Thai ladyboy

    >become a lolcow on SighSee & shill your channel to get hatewatchers for any/all attention
