Heading to Japan for a week, need help setting up an itinerary. Have a few ideas laying around like celebrating Tanabata, a day for disney. I'm going there with my family and we're just staying in the Tokyo area.
Any ideas or recommendations we can do there would be greatly appreciated, bless.
>a thread died for this
odds are it wasn't a good one
Shinjuku and Shibuya, Tokyo Skytree, Rappongi and Akasaka, shrines, urban rivers are always cool, Akihabara, Osaka Castle, Kyoto Castle, Himeji Castle, Dottonbori, Umeda
There that's your whole trip
oh yeah also the Shizouka prefecture and mt fuji are real cool, especially if you're sick of big cities, and Enoshima is cool
My recommendation is to only do a day or two in Osaka. I spent a week there last year and it wasn't all that great. You can do pretty much everything worth seeing (Osaka Castle, the temples, good restaurants, etc) in two days. The nightlife in Namba is lame and filled with foreigners who are obnoxious and drive Japanese people away. Stay in Shinsaibash or near Hanazonocho Station. If you go to near Hanazonocho there's the best Okinomiyaki restaurant in Japan right near the station, kind of hidden in the back streets.
I'd recommend
>Tokyo
>Osaka
>Kyoto
And then take the Shinkansen over to Fukuoka for partying.
Also stay in Kyoto, not Osaka, imo, unless you're just there for the nightlife. Kyoto has a fuckton of shrines, castles, the golden pavilion, really high quality food on average, Kyoto has lots of daytime shit to do and it's a really pretty city
Hard agree. Everyone says stay in Osaka it's cheaper and only 15 mins away, but it actually takes about an hour to get from one to the other and the hotel prices are comparable. You can find nightlife in Kyoto as well.
Also fuck everyone who was like you're gonna get shrined out, they and the historical sights were the most memorable and enjoyable parts if my trip.
My most memorable memory will be going down to Yoshiwara and getting paizuri and deep kissed by a seyfuku yamato nadeshiko.
Not OP, but heading that way for the first time in a week for a week. Dropping in Haneda airport, staying the night in a hotel, then hopping the trains to stay in the mountains near Lake Suwa. While I've done research on what I'm planning to do, does anyone have any recommendations on things to do in Nagano that are out of the way for a tourist? Also, how easy is it to get a camping spot in the Yatsugatake mtns? I've seen where you can, but not having luck on HOW to get a spot reserved.
All right Anon ignore all the Amerimutt queers in this thread and listen to me because I live in Tokyo.
I'll tell you where not to go for starters because Tokyo is big and you only got so many hours in a day.
You'll want to avoid Senso-ji, Kawasaki, anything north Ikebukuro, and anything east of Tokyo Skytree.
Now I'll give you some good shiz to do.
Firstly do you have tickets to Disney already? Because I would highly recommend Disney Sea over Disneyland. It has the better rides and is more memorable.
You absolutely need to go to Odaiba for a whole day. So much cool shit down there. I recommend: Statue of Liberty, Unko (Poop) Museum, giant gundam, teamLab, maybe Joypolis, Fuji TV building, walking on the beach, and Rainbow Bridge.
I also highly recommend a day in Yokohama too. A lot of cool shit there. A few highlights: Cup Noodle museum (make your own cup noodles), Cosmoworld, Nissan exhibit, Red Brick Warehouse, Port Museum, and ANOTHER giant gundam
Shinjuku and Shibuya are obviously no brainers and you can just google some shit to do there. You can just walk around those cities for hours finding cool shit. But I would recommend going to see the Godzilla on the Toho Cinema and the infamous Shibuya Crossing.
Kayak around Tokyo, riding go-karts around Tokyo, seeing a sumo match (depending on what mouth your coming), Tokyo Dome, Imperial Palace, maybe check out Ikebukuro, maybe Akihabara if you like video games, go to a maid cafe, go to the Alice in Wonderland restaurant, the robot restaurant, check out Tokyo Hentai Club, get a massage in Roppongi, go to an arcade, get drunk doing karaoke, maybe have dinner on a boat in Tokyo bay, go to the old Olympic stadium and get a tour, etc.
I can go on, but these are a few of the big cool things that you should probably check out for babies first Japan.
Robot restaurant has been closed for over two years dude.
Damn it's been that long? Time flies
Good fucking riddance.
Fuck you
tasteless homosexual
It reopened, my dude.
I do already have tickets for disneyland, we just decided to go there because its cheaper on the day that we chose, and we have very limited time
Just check this if it's alright enough of an itinerary, just need to polish things if necessary
Basically do the opposite of what this post says
>Anon don't listen to this Japanese national because I know better
>So basically you want to avoid all the fun tourist spots
A tale as old as time
>lives in Japan
>recommends the go carts
Did you move here last week?
I recommend it for foreigner who has never been to Tokyo and wants a good time or make memories with family. Is this that difficult to understand gaijin?
Wouldn't a trip to Fuji-Q Highland be better unless you are scared of roller coaster rides but riding go karts on public streets is arguably more dangerous than a roller coaster ride.
Use the general you stupid fuck!!
i have come back with a proper itinerary, please just tell me if this is feasible and shit

Last I remember, this building, the Tokyo Metropolitan Office in Shinjuku, has a free elevator ride to a great view of Tokyo; On par with the sky tree
>spend $2000 to fly to japan
>day 0: fly
>day 1: shopping
>day 2: art museum
>day 3: pokemon/art museum
>day 4: church
>day 5: disney
>day 6: shopping
>day 7: flying
This sounds absolutely horrible. You'd have more fun if you went to Japantown in San Francisco or LA.
Are you a parent on this trip, or an older sibling or what? What kind of things interest you specifically? I feel like 'shopping' is taking alot of scheduled time and its something that can be done at or around a solid destination or attraction. I totally get the vibe of just visiting one of Tokyo's neighborhoods and checking things out but its not a bad idea to settle on a couple things to see and then just pop in to shops or cafes that catch your eye on the way. I also dont hate your idea of going to Disneysea especially if it will make the family and kids happy, thats a big part of my goals on trips too. Personally when I travel I'm happiest just chilling and mingling with locals at a small park, bar, shop, or cafe so I'm not hard to please. I like tourist traps and I like out of the way secluded non attractions. I havent been to Tokyo yey but im going in November and have researched a ton. If you can offer some more details on what you like I can probably offer discussion on some attractions you want to check into that fit around you current itinerary.
An afternoon at Motomachi in Yokohama is worth it imo. It was where they quarantined foreigners after Perry came. Very extensive history regarding the integration of western tech, entertainment and cityplanning if you can find a tour. There are nice gardens there and the largest Chinatown in the world (great *actually* Chinese food)
imagine visiting a foreign country and setting aside time for disney shit
I swear if i had more power, I would not go to disney or church, they just want to accommodate the young ones on the trip, and church because they are religious
For a week you won't be able to do much, but just by staying in the Tokyo area there's quite a bit to do. Tokyo urban area has already been covered in the thread. For daytrips, you can check out Hakone to get close to the Fuji (though keep in mind Fuji is often covered by clouds, even on bright days), Nikko, or Kamakura.
Also for Tokyo, Metropolitan building is shit for skycrappers views, though at least it's free. Tokyo Skytree is also a bit of a meme, but you're indeed high as fuck.
Go to the Mori Tower instead. Pic I took.
That's not a Japan Travel thread though. it has been cultural enriched by coomers.
This thread is a Japan travel thread.
Thanks for the help anons. Fuck some of you
>need help setting up an itinerary
OP why aren’t you there to coom? You can easily bang some fucking hot girls on the down low while you are there.
Nothing stopping you from doing the normal stuff at day time.
H-how
>sex tourism
cringe af
Tell me where else I can go balls deep in 12 nippon girls on a rolling basis. I’m fucking waiting. You retards shitting up at the roppongi clubs are just jealous that i don’t have to pay cover charges and over priced beer.
>Japan for a week
ok, not too much time for Japan
>a day for disney
nvm, hope your plane crashes
Where do I get the best exchange rate?
Ive understood the best is at your country’s bank or airport because there’s more incentive to get rid of their ¥ and keep their $
Airports are the worst.
Best would be an actual currency exchange place (call a few to make sure they have yen) in your city seconded by your bank.
Did the mods ban Japan General? I don't see it in the catalog
Yea indian Mod mad because indians can’t get any women. Thank god i’m sea and I’m allowed at the soaps.
Yes, he got dog piled for being a fucking retard, and nuked the whole thread. Not allowed to discuss Japan on SighSee anymore.
Yes, TLDR:
>users get tired of constant coom posts and make two threads, one specifically for coom talk
>goes well for a few hours until mods ban both
>users create another single thread, plenty of bitching about mods since the split was working well
>mod makes a post that they were deleting offending posts in both threads and “the opening posts got caught in the crossfire” (basically either a lie or the mods are actually retarded because how do you confuse OPs with thread replies)
>anons dogpile on mod telling them how retarded they are
>mod seethes and deletes the thread
remember to report the mod through the feedback section found at the bottom of the site. I'm fucking tired of dealing with this retarded jeet mod. He ruins literally all threads and makes the coom posts spill into every post. Instead of just having a coom general and keeping it there. Remember, leave feedback, found at the bottom of the site. Scroll all the way down. If we never do anything about it, we can't expect change.
The mods have now deleted three generals instead of just cleaning up the single-digit offending posts or taking 10 seconds to IP ban one dude.
You mean the standing girls poster? His shit funny as fuck.
>SighSee mods unironically would rather have 3 dozen Japan threads in the catalog from different people asking the same generic itinerary advice instead of consolidating it into 1 or 2 generals
The absolute state
>girls bars
>icha kyaba
>pink salon
>soapland
>delivery health in a love hotel
until your money runs out
>fly overseas
>only spending 7 days
I try not to be judgmental, but this is way too short. I would even have a hard time justifying this for a much closer destination. Minimum two weeks is the magic number.
I dont get this sentiment, like yeah 2 weeks is better, but jfc its not like hes going for a weekend. 7 days isnt long enough to see everything but its long enough to be an enjoyable trip.
