I imagine it would be a bad look on a country if they're unwilling to help their own people. Without knowing more of the situation, I assume the UK government is doing something, since there's more than one UK national captured, and this incident is known to international media. With so many eyes watching, they can't do nothing.
>Is the foreign office doing anything?
Why would they?
Pretty sure they told him they rightfully won't do shit if he would go back to Afghanistan.
>Pretty sure they told him they rightfully won't do shit if he would go back to Afghanistan.
Excellent point, but again, there's more than one brit this time. It would look shitty of them to leave one behind. Even if they repeatedly warned Miles not to do it again, it would be a PR nightmare if they saved everybody BUT him.
>Come, Mr. Taliban, turn over our people >Except for that Miles cunt, you can keep him
I can't imagine any western government negotiating like this.
>he's totally fine, no this isn't him and no you can't see him except for this undated picture that could've been taken at any time, but he's definitely alive
Is there metadata in that photo? I'm too lazy to check.
Not that exif data is hard to fake.

date and location information is empty, defaults to your current time if you download it to your machine and Twitters server time if you check data via image url.

I don't know what the service you used does nor if twitter even keeps the images' metadata.

As far as I can tell, twitter does not keep metadata. I used a couple online exif data sites. they all use the same python script thats 20 years old basically on the backend, but multiple sources feels better.

to add more to my reply, if anything notable was in the metadata, it would already have been posted in the twitter thread, so rest assured either whoever posted the image scrubbed it, or twitter did. Either way, nothing of note can be recovered

I only see blue checkmarked right-wing wannabe ecelebs virtue signalling in the replies. If anything productive was posted there somewhere, I sure as shit wouldn't have been able to see it.

Thank you for sacrificing your daily allotted twitter quota for the cause.
He's probably dead and the taliban idiots are trying to trick westerners into paying ransom money for a dead guy. At least that's the implication that I read into that whole nonsense about a 5k bookdeal and the lack of a video evidence of Miles still being alive.
Has there been any latest news on this guy? Is the foreign office doing anything?

>Lord Miles doesn't know about these tweets
He's 100% dead
why would they even say that?

Miles, pls let us know something...
all good pal
Sometimes people want to disappear. Afghanistan is as good a place to disappear as any in the world.
I was sure he was dead this time, I thought the Taliban liked him, why would he be held hostage?

Why did he even go back? Is he that retarded?
