How do you all convince your parents to let you travel?

How do you all convince your parents to let you travel? I got in a huge argument about going to Japan this summer with them and they had a melt down because I would be going by china, the yakuza, and stuff. I'm fricking 28 for crying out loud I can handle myself but I need to apply for a gay passport and forgot when my mom's birthday was so I had to bring it up.y advice?

Anon...if you need to convince your parents to "let you" do anything by the time you're 28 you've got bigger problems than a fricking trip abroad

They threatened to kick me out of my fricking house. My dad basically is a fricking moron and thinks because I am going there with all the shit in China going on I'll get fricked by them or the Yakuza that my mom is worried about. I only let them know because I forgot when my moms birthday was and needed it for a passport application "visa free" but still needs a passport? makes no fricking sense.

have you convinced them that you're a responsible adult and not a colossal manchild?

I'm an investor I have my own LLC and probably around ~1.2-3.2m(depends how these markets and coins go) in various assets that I own. I haven't given them that information yet because I want to avoid the israelite tax of a landlord or stuff but still. I could make it if I wanted to.

      You tell them
      >Mom, Dad, I'm not a little kid anymore. Your little boy is growing up and has a terminal case of wanderlust after being bitten by the travel bug. The world doesn't begin and end at [insert your home state here], a man needs broaden his horizons and expand his mind. Due to geography I will not set foot anywhere near China (show them a world map to hammer in your point) and Japan has very low crime rates. In fact, I'm statistically safer in Japan than in [insert your home town/city] so you don't worry about me.

Dude I probably have more than you will ever earn in a wagie job.

Do you realise how pathetic you sound at 28 talking about being kicked out of ‘your’ house by your parents. You are deeply developmentally stunted and immature.

          >28 and living at home is LE BAD!
Dude no one here on this board has an apartment home or trailer, you're in the same situation I am. The job market is in shambles, places still forcing employees to drive into work(impossible here in boston), and generally overall just bullshit. I'd rather just look for some place to buy in Japan and just move there or if fails through Korea.

Look at every digital nomad, they are seen as "chads" but they live at home lol. You're so out of touch most my friends in Europe don't even move out til 30 so I got some time.

          >except I pay my mothers expenses and put food on the table, not the other way round
Ask me how I know you're israeli. Family should not be expected to pay for shit like that especially their son.

            >Dude no one here on this board has an apartment home or trailer, you're in the same situation I am.
I own 400m2 of land, an apartment, and I am in the process of planning a house with an architect. Maybe you're just a fricking loser.
            >Look at every digital nomad, they are seen as "chads" but they live at home lol.
nobody except teenagers and broke wagies think digital nomads are anything other than losers. and they don't live at home, they rent in exotic countries. that's... kinda the point?
            >You're so out of touch most my friends in Europe don't even move out til 30 so I got some time.
In Europe people move out at 18 to go to university, sometimes move back in for a bit after graduating and then they get a job and move out again. Cope harder
            >Ask me how I know you're israeli. Family should not be expected to pay for shit like that especially their son.
I'm white from a Christian (not practising) family. I pay for my mother's expenses because she is getting old and it brings me joy to do it. She spent all her time and money on me when I was a child, now I get to repay the favour. The look on her face when I said I was going to pay off the mortage felt better than when I got a dreamy PC or went to the Bahamas. A manchild like you wouldn't understand.
            >Go back to the midwest cope and seethe thread.
nice comeback moron. I'm not even American. Move the frick out of your parents house, stop letting them treat you like a baby and stop acting like one.

Bullshit, it costs like thousands of dollars. This is how I know you are one of those home owning morons. Did you know in Korea all they have to pay is 500 a month and that includes EVERYTHING? WITH gigabit internet too? When I cashed out my crypto I bought a direct London to Nassau ticket and spent 2 weeks fricking girls in my Airbnb swimming with dolphins. I would rather give the money to them so it circulates in the family and makes their life a little easier in their pension days then to some fricking landlord. When I get a girlfriend/wife, I'll move out since living alone in a rented apartment is a waste of money for a little privacy and getting a loan from a bank would kill me financially for AT LEAST 20 years ( and that's if I'm lucky with my next job hunt)

most people go to university after sixth form / college, only a minority learn trades or go straight into jobs (bad thing I think). This is at age 18. Some delay it to retake exams or take a gap year but a majority end up moving out for university at 18-20. As I said a lot, including me, immediately move in broke after graduating and stay for a bit.

OP, i feel for you as I am also sorta in the same position. My parents would never kick me out or stop me from travelling, but my mom is constantly guilt-tripping me and having panic attacks which make me feel bad. It's the same whether or not I live with them. Like you, I have enough money to easily get my own place, and I used to, but I stopped because it seemed like a waste when I'm mostly travelling and just coming back to the US to rest and plan trips.

Still, people do *judge* you if you live with your parents. Gotta decide how much that's worth to you.

My dad literally told me that "If you have so much money to fly to japan and live there for half a year how about you pay half the rent!". My mom was able to calm him down but still... How hard is it as a white male to get a teaching job out there? I'm white, native english, and can probably teach easily. I guess I could tell them I am looking for one of those jobs...

he had a good point but you have the brain of spoiled 12 year old so you wouldn't see it that way. imagine having a son that becomes a millionaire in his 20s and then carries on jerking off in his childhood bedroom yelling down the stairs 'when's dinner ready'

this is where the thread was obviously a troll. nothing here is 'keep earning' worthy. if this was real you wouldn't last 1 month living by yourself/travelling solo without getting other people to do basic life tasks for you lmao

So pay the rent, or don't and move out. Don't you WANT to be independent from you parents? You mentioned you have crypto money so act on it.

I know having parents shoving every convenience up your ass. I ended up moving to another country to escape that.

Your dad's right. I don't pay a "rent" per se, but I give my parents a fixed amount of money (that we agreed upon) that they use to pay for utilities and part of food costs. What do you even do for a living, anon?

it's visa free for americans, but you have to prove you're american

how do you do this? passport

a passport is not a visa, it's a document saying you are a citizen of a country and entitled to the legal status that entails

To be fair you have to get a visa to teach (i.e. work, seek employment) in Japan. You don't have to do it to visit as an American, just show your passport.

    >but muh NEETS paradise
You keep harping on about the israelites, but your fallback plan is to move to either of the two countries that are most obviously being systematically destroyed by globalist israelitery. You are a child, both politically and mentally, why would they not treat you like one?

I'm 2/4 of these. Never made any crypto money and would like to think I don't act super entitled, and I am definitely no savant. Thankfully though I travelled to Japan last year and handled all the admin pretty well, and am going again this month. I also had a pretty decent IT job earning a good salary but my dad still paid a bit of my rent, and I'll be out of a job at the end of the month so gotta search for a new one like mad
