Some delay it to retake exams or take a gap year but a majority end up moving out for university at 18-20. OP, i feel for you as I am also sorta in the same position. My parents would never kick me out or stop me from travelling, but my mom is constantly guilt-tripping me and having panic attacks which make me feel bad. It's the same whether or not I live with them. Like you, I have enough money to easily get my own place, and I used to, but I stopped because it seemed like a waste when I'm mostly travelling and just coming back to the US to rest and plan trips.
