    Why does it matter?

Basically any company that knows what they're doing forbids it, so it's a fireable offense.

So glad I'm neet. Maybe your parents should have made better financial decisions and you wouldn't have to worry about this.

Really depends who you work for, my company straight up doesn't care unless it's China or some shithole that would be a huge risk to visit. I just ask my boss "hey going to work while I travel anything you need from me? I'll work the norm 9-5". I may have to ping my friend on the network team here or there for something but it's rare. I think singapore was the only problem I had but just got a work around in place by remoting into my cloud VM

its possible for short stints, but not something you can realistically do long term without ""something"" happening that gets you caught.
if its not the banks, immigration or tax man, it can even be down to something as simple as an email at 8am saying "hey bob, need you to come in at 9 for a mandatory meeting"

I won't get this because my thing is too close to Zog but why exactly do they forbid normal private sector people from doing their computer bullshit on their work laptop on the company VPN yada yada while living for peanuts and some tropical or european Paradise has has a rich person on a $100,000 salary or whatever? I mean some of the work from home guys I know are constantly being flown out to turd World branches to go wrangle there darkies so they don't have to give those jobs at domestic wages so why then would they be like by the way we need you to live in the same neighborhood as the commercial real estate bags we are holding because you just have to okay

the most common reason is data protection. regulations such as GDPR (in the european union) are very strict about sending personal data to other countries without consent.
you might not care about things like that but companies do. companies can face huge fines for breaching GDPR guidelines- meta (facebook), amazon, google, tiktok and whatsapp have all been fined hundreds of millions of euros
companies usually come down hard on individuals who do anything that might be a breach. i'm an IT contractor and i have known people who have been instantly dismissed from contracts for doing anything that might be breaking the rules. .

There are also things like taxes and employee regulations that an employer might have to abide by if they have an employee living in another country. If you trigger tax nexus in a region, your company will probably fire you on the spot.

Also the plain logistics of getting your shit fixed if your work issued gear is broken, lost or stolen. Someone working overseas is going to need a much longer time than losing a single working day of driving down to the IT department to get a replacement.

Oh God he's doing it again... I swear at any given moment this TTT autist tard has 10 LARP threads up so he can "datamine" (as he calls it) information that he'll never use.

This is TTT'S board, we're all just living in it. When the download is complete, he'll be unstoppable.

On the first of the month tell them to inject both your ass cheeks with Invega instead of just one. I expect to see a precipitous drop in threads about remote work and eating prostitutes buttholes in nothing but a vest and a bowling hat in March.

I'm working 2 wfh jobs ar the same time, neither requires much work. They both pay be about 65k each. I mostly read books all day. If onenof them fired me I'd just get another one. I've been thinking of picking it a 3rd anyway tbh

Depends on the job. Anything with decent IT will automatically lock you out if you try to VPN from outside your country. If you're making phone calls all day then probably yeah. All this stuff probably violates NDA if you don't request a change in address.

You basically need to work for a company that are pretty much clueless and one which you know the ins and out of everything and ideally... friends or very close with your colleagues.

Then you need to test your setup at home for a few months minimum beforehand and maybe a few short trips further away before pulling the trigger.

Then you need to plant the seed of Video calls with green screen backgrounds on all the time etc.

Then you need to find places with lax or easy VISA's which you can recycle with fast internet speeds.

You could theoretically do it for a long time but I would be wary about tax residency past 180 days. My plan is to do Thailand and then hop to Malaysia / Taiwan / Vietnam / Philippines. The crazy thing is airbnbs or renting places for a few months is barely fricking cheaper than renting an apartment in Europe it's fricking insane.

All this just to fricking coom, what a world we live in ay?
