I’ve talked to some Filipino friends and they said Manila airport is rough.
I’ve read a shit load of bad things about it and I want to know if I need to carry some Pesos for a bribe or something.
There’s no way I’d bring anything in but apparently they plant shit on white people because they’ll pay the bribe.
Is it true or am I a retard.
Manila airport is a disorganized clusterfuck, but I'm pretty sure those stories are all from 10+ years ago and the only issues now are the lines and general Philippines chaos
>Manila airport is a disorganized clusterfuck
i wanna Add there are no organized lines ... i found that strange in an Airport .. its just globs of people trying to get through
normal flip behavior
>i wanna Add there are no organized lines ... i found that strange in an Airport .. its just globs of people trying to get through
When Uk announced it was shutting down due to covid .. in 5 days - I flew out, and they had social distancing in the airport but to get in the door was a massive crush of people who all were waiting an hour to get in for their flight they had to delay takeoffs so few people were getting to the gate in time
You're talking about tanim bala. Bullets in bags. That was a major issue. I came through naia a few months ago though and they wanted to inspect my bag at the entrance to the airport and were touching my antique Gillette razor and shaving setup I told them to get their filthy hands off my stuff. Thieving is back in the airport by the staff. Check the news, dutertes best friend just got robbed of ten thousand pesos by airport staff before they found out who he was.
Naia is voted the world's worst airport every single fucking year for decades.
i went in 2019
i didn't have any issues, and i also had heard these horror stories
maybe i was lucky .. or maybe they dont do that anymore? .. it all seemed good to me anyways.
when u leave the airport and think u just stepped into some post apocalyptic tijuana setting

MANILA, Philippines — Security screening officers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport will soon no longer be allowed to wear uniforms or jackets that have pockets in them to prevent more incidents of theft at the NAIA

So many stolen things in the news just look it up. The workers in NAIA are not only thieves and liars but are retarded too
Terminal 4 is aaight (domestic only I think).
Most of the time they turn off the air con in NAIA just to fuck with people im sure if it
If you're willing to spend time to stand up for yourself, Manny Pacquiao actually offered to pay legal fees for anyone tied up in Manila Airport's security shenanigans.
i have had one experience with manila airport, earlier this year on my way to australia
just as i was about to board my connecting flight they took me to a secret area where my checked in bag was sitting on a table surrounded by security staff. uh oh here we go, i thought. but they had just scanned it and see the battery in my shaver. like they couldn't have done this in the five fucking hours i was sitting in the lounge waiting for my connection. bastards.
If all 100 million Filipinos had a meeting and put their heads together there wouldn't be a single shred of common sense between them all
No problems here. I think they do that stuff to sex pest sexpats not normal people
Why are flips the embodiment of third world? Why is scamming born within them? I know most Australians avoid it and I'll pay money just to not have to go there
i was taking a ferry.. like government run large ferrys. not boats at a dock like in thailand..
and the fucking guy in his uniform who sold me my ticket in a proper terminal was begging me for a tip .. thats when i knew for sure that i wasnt in Kansas anymore.
but theres good things too
I was in Manila last year and I'm going again very soon.
>Manila airport is rough.
It's not rough, but it can be disorganised and involve very long queues.
>if I need to carry some Pesos for a bribe or something.
No you don't need to do this. Don't be a retard, just have the right documentation, stand in line like everybody else and be polite.
>There’s no way I’d bring anything in but apparently they plant shit on white people because they’ll pay the bribe.
This doesn't really happen now. They are under increasing scrutiny. Sometimes baggage handlers will steal shit from your bags though. Most likely you will pass through the airport fine, probably just a bit of standing in queues and dealing with some inefficiency but you'll be ok.
