How long until one of these moronic youtubers gets killed? They keep going to increasingly more dangerous places doing moronic shit just to try and one up each other.

As much as I dislike most vloggers, I do appreciate them trying. Last thing I want is yet another boring Paris/London/Seoul/Tokyo video that everybody and their grandmother has already done. If they're willing to put their lives on the line, I just might need to reevaluate how I think about them.
You missed out on sabbatical visiting the DRC and he was doing that solo
Usually has quite boring but that one was ok. He needs to make the video shorter though. Had to watch that shit in 2x.
>goes to Lubumbashi
>bitches about corruption for a day, turns around back to the border because he's had enough and people are meanies
These youtube kids are all smalltime. Look at good old boomerforum madmen, this absolute chad went all the way from Lubumbashi to Kinshasa in a Landcruiser, refused to pay even the smallest bribes and he took his fricking wife with him to boot. And she didn't even get raped.

I wonder how intact those roads are. I asked about overland between Kisangani and Kinshasa and was told that they were "impassable".
Pretty much borderline impassable. It's just unmaintained mud all the way for weeks until you run into a short section of Chinese asphalt. Then it's back to mud again. They routinely got stuck and had to dig themselves out.
It's a long read and I don't remember it fully but I believe they had to cave in once or twice and employ a nearby village to level the road somewhat and pull them through if they wanted to make it in sensible time. The car also of course eventually shat itself from all the abuse. It took them over a month to get to Kinshasa including a week or so wasted on searching for spare parts.
Based. I read parts of that thread before going. Only did plane. The feel I got was that the polity was held together by plane and to a point by the river. I don't know how central authority is out in the sticks.
Dancing in the Glory of Monsters makes it explicit the DRC is held together by plane. Military operations depend heavily on ability to mobilize civilian airlines into service.
Bro *I* went to the DRC solo without speaking French. Relax. It's just a country.
How did this board get so timid?
Why the frick are you on a travel board complaining about people not being native English speakers?
Is this a board for people who just sit inside all day, kind of like how /k/ is for people without guns or drones to post drone footage of people attacking people with guns?
I do wonder if the posts hating these people are from "firsties" dealing with the difficulty of accepting the apparent random violence and relatively lawless zones of their own countries.
DRC is only bad in certain areas, most of the country is fine. It's a shithole, yes, but danger is relatively low.
I really doubt it's even that dangerous. I've been to some dangerous spots in Latin America and it wasn't even that bad. I did grow up in Detroit though.
Like they just over exaggerate the danger of these places for entertainment factor to get more views. The thing about these poor "dangerous" places is that they don't really frick with you for no reason at all. They either want your money or you are doing something stupid in their turf, there's some reason for them messing with you. Unlike in Detroit or any other dangerous city in the US where you can get shot at for no reason at all.
>I've been to some dangerous spots in Latin America and it wasn't even that bad
Medellin feels pretty unsafe in most of the city.
Gang controlled territories literally set up a security detail with sentries and patrols. They are good at keeping people out, they just threaten to kill you. The danger comes if you manage to enter their territory, they will become a lot more suspicious and hostile, they will take your documents, interrogate you for an hour and escort you out if they want, or beat you and leave you left for dead, after which you may die from the wounds at the hospital.
t. live in El Salvador, my cousin and a stupid friend drove into a cul de sac trying to escape a minor hit and run, they both ended up in the hospital with multiple rib fractures, the friend died from ruptured liver.
Don't ask my opinion about the government. I have nothing but hate to say about them after leaving my father to die in the pandemic.
>government kills your father
>do nothing
Good Black personcattle
Yeah, like I said in my other post, they have a reason to frick with you. You are being a dumbass and fricking around in their turf.
What I think is scary about the US is that you can get shot for no reason at all. No logic or reason behind the violence. For example, people get shot at the Detroit fireworks every year because some punks will shoot into the crowd for the lulz.
This happens much less than you think it does.
For every one American that opens fire on a crowd, 100 others fantasize about doing it. For every roadrager who goes berserk on the highway, 100 other drivers merely clench their teeth and pound the wheel.
Inexplicable violence is a much bigger problem in America than in other countries. That's why American cops are so trigger-happy; they know very well how many Americans are prone to sudden psychosis.
Firearms in the hands of victims do protect against targeted violence, but the prevalence of firearms exacerbates the threat of random violence, to the point where Americans are more afraid of a mass shooter than of a mugger.
Go take your meds schizo
>trying to escape a minor hit and run
So you mean they hit someone and were trying to get away?
Very few people are going to feel murderous toward a foreigner who is showing off their neighborhood for YouTube. Peawienering for the camera isn't a threat to the cameraman.
We had a pair go through the Darien gap. I'm waiting to see one make their way through Africa and hitch a ride on a boat to the bottom of the Mediterranean. .
love how Kurt puts the 15 year old girl on the thumbnail as a thirst trap
what's the youngest girl he's met?
When in rome
villa 31 like all other misery villas are filled with peruvians, bolivians and paraguayos, he didn find a single argentinian.
That is a world fenomeno, all poor and browns in argentina come these 3 countries, the average argentinian look like kurt thats why he say "do a look like an argentinian haha", yea he does.
Your ESL really shines in that post, do barely literate Argies like you really think they're white? You remind me of Pajeets claiming themselves the whitest of India LMAO
Not soon enough, Bald's trek through the Darien Gap was interesting but Kurt Caz and Binsky seem to do it for the clout. Not saying Bald is not a douche in real life but he seems like the type of guy to just do shit for the sake of it as opposed to following trends (going to the space shuttle, his interest in Russian culture, etc)
Close enough
>They keep going to increasingly more dangerous places
This used to be a source of curiosity here, not a reason to be a homosexual.
Sounds like are a homosexual
Sounds like you should actually travel
Sounds like you should stop being a homosexual
Sounds like you should stir the crust within a loving relationship rather than throwing yourself at the latest pistolero to flash his gun at you in Cartagena while you get HRT to make you marriage material around his parents.
Everytime I see these guys stupid Reddit onions faces on my recommended feed I feel a small sense of anger
