I've never been gambling before and I don't really want to spend a ton of money, but I like playing card games and the classy aesthetic of casinos. How do I have fun and make the most out of casinos? Especially for gambling towns like Las Vegas or Macau or one of those riverboat casinos. Which types of games should I avoid? What should I do?

I love Vegas and rarely gamble when I go. People watching at casinos is fun. If you’re going to gamble see if the casino offers free drinks while you play.
play baccarat, it's the best game to gamble on
never play slots. learn a simple table game with ok odds and play that until you lose 100
$1 blackjack at hooters
Try a poker room with something like 1/2 limit. You can sit there forever.
I think the gambling is a formality for a lot of people, an excuse to be around that touristy service environment. Plan your trip a bit so that your play gambling gets you some fun experiences, or just avoid that entirely and buy what you want outright. Note that in America gambling is most popular with old people and foreigners. In Asia, they can be pretty hardcore about it.

You don't. You're playing games that you know mathematically favor the house. They afford the classy aesthetic by taking money from players and using it to build a more temping atmosphere. You will not have fun unless you're prepared to lose your entire stack.
I would definitely do the research on what games to play. Its not weird or power gaming to understand the dynamics of the game and the risk.
Obviously there is a house edge, however how much of an edge varies considerably. It's important to be disciplined even gambling.
There's too much to cover in a single post
Avoid "meme" games like spanish21, "players advantage" or games that have flashy side bets. These games are basically extortion and rely heavily on physiological one-time "big payouts" but mathematically have very bad odds the longer you play.
Keep your risk low, find tables with minimum bets, usually the the minimums go up during the prime time weekends and during the day and weekdays are lower. Don't play games with shitty payouts like 6:5 blackjack, always play 3:2 you are basically giving your money away with 6:5.
Ask your dealer or the pit boss on what games to try and how to play them and your limit, contrary to popular belief they don't actually want you to lose (at least in the short term). They know casinos are basically scams in that sense, and generally will try to maximize comps as much as they can for you.
That's really it.
Learn to play black jack and baccarat so you can at least minimize the house edge, then just play roulette if you feel lazy. If you’re sensible the odds shouldn’t be too bad (a few % to the house) so if you’re sensible you can get away without losing much. Easier said than done though.
