Each year it's different but fun experience of meeting random people, drinking with them, and then never seeing them again. It's more of a carnival than the local city fests but at this point that's ok. I went the opening weekend and had a great time, just don't get too drunk and you'll avoid all problems.
I went for 2 days, hung out with 4 finnish girls but struck out so i fricked a 20 year old swede. Honestly though i should not have chased tail as much as i did though, my friend had a way better time without fricking
Yeah, had a lot of fun this monday.
Its more fun with a group, but waiting is also nice, if you're not to shy to sit on a table with strangers that is!
>It would be fun to speak german with people
I thought the same thing after spending ten years learning it. Went to Deutschland and they just would reply in English and wanted to argue about Barack Obama being some sort of saint.
Didn’t go this year, but last year I had a bunch of old German ladies complementing my German. Avoid weekends. Oktoberfest I think is most fun when you just do weekday afternoons since you can still have a good party, but you aren’t mobbed by all the Brits and Italians and college students.
Also, frick the servers who take a whole $20 when you’re buying a pretzel and try to disappear when you ask for change. Who are you trying to fool?

Bavarian here. Was never there and never will. Köhler did nothing wrong.
I was stationed in germany 3 years and had a good time whenever I went to munich. My first time I got way too drunk though

I am 26 and have never been to my ancestral german lands. Maybe this year I will go for it. It would be fun to speak german with people
It’s already over….
