I just figured out I'm going to be left with ten days of extra PTO at the end of the year if I don't schedule it soon (I work in healthcare and my schedule fills quickly). I'm looking to book something around November, but it seems like most places are shit around that time. Any recommendations for a week long November vacation?

Pic unrelated it's just the first travel related image I saw in my files.

Also should mention that it will in all likelihood be a solo trip, I just broke up with my girlfriend and my friends don't like me enough to travel with me.

I went to Ireland last November and it was cozy. Not too cold, a bit rainy, and the days were getting shorter but you find indoor things to do. Prices were lower than usual and there weren't many tourists.

This is a nice idea, can't imagine airfare would be too much either in a shoulder season.

      >week long November vacation
Rome, Naples, Pompeii, Sorento, Postiano, Amalfi, island of Capri. Will be good weather and easy travel with just trains or Rental car depending on what you want. I'm not saying stay a night in each of these

Anywhere in the Med will have nice weather (not scorching, not actually winter) if you like that kind of thing

Iceland is usually still mostly not snowed out at that time of year but the deep interior would be inaccessible

My concern is that I'd want to be outside a lot in the mediterranean or Iceland and that the weather might be too variable.

What would you like to do?
Why not just go see Machu Pichu and chill in Peru?
Or any Caribbean place for some sun. Or. even Maui.
You're inside too much anyway I assume.

I looked into the caribbean, isn't it hurricane season?
My priorities in terms of what I'm looking for:
      >cheap
      >natural beauty
      >good food
I'm already going to Alaska for two weeks in the summer so this is just an add-on idea, don't wanna spend too much on a second vacation. I would fly out of NJ btw.

I was reading that southern Italy is around 40-60 degrees in November and gets rainy? I could be wrong

Yeah this is an excellent idea. Ireland is really cheap at this time and an easy spot to go with loads to do
