I'm planning to spend a few years in Laval, Quebec and I don't speak any french 🙁
Will it be difficult to find a job? I have work experience as a Liberian.
Do you have any advice for me?

Yes it will. Why are you moving to Quebec?
My advice would be to learn French or to learn how to live with a snapped spine.
a relative lives there. I'm planning to stay with him till I get settled. I'm to stupid to learn another language and I'm in my forties
Is there an english speaking city where it's easy to find jobs close to Laval?
No, there isn't.

west montreal is still mostly anglo, look into kirkland
And you still need some French for almost any job there. Sometimes Yiddish.
15% of English speaking Montrealers are israelites. Old numbers.
That's... a lot when you consider the other 50% are poos, pakis and chinks that list "english" as their main language.
I don’t know why anyone would move here if you cannot speak the language. There is an entire continent or regions to chose from that speak English yet you chose to go to the one where people will rage at you for not even trying.
They don't even speak French Quebec. They speak french the same way Jamaicans speak English
You won't have problems with speaking english only, even the Quebecers themselves massacre french regularly and can't be bothered to speak it properly.
You'll find some work in entertainment/hospitality but most places will expect you to know at least some french.
It might be a dumb idea to move to Quebec this unprepared so please weight your options.
thanks anon that really helped
I need to make it work somehow
I found job listings in Quebec that are suited for ukrainian refugees. I will try applying for those too
go snowmobiling
probably won't do anything that involves spending money for a while. but i do want to do that someday
that's good info
I was just in Montreal and French felt like a meme.
>be me
>walk into store
>"Bonjour, bienvenue à __"
>me, in my Americhad accent with no effort to speak any French: "uhhhh let me get uhhhh"
And everybody just sat there and took it, and replied back in perfect English. Meme.
Why do these Canadians larp so hard as Frenchmen? Nobody knows.
my friend doesn't speak english and got a job fine. You just need to find the neighboorhood that are english. Many of those in Montreal (which is near laval)

You got a job as a west African national?
If OP meant librarian, good luck getting a public-sector job in Quebec as a non-francophone. Proficiency in conversational french (and probably english as well) is almost certainly a job requirement.
