Is it a good idea for someone who's 31 years old and has been a NEET for 5 years+(zero real world experience) to travel?

Not a good idea. Stay in the basement. Watch travel vloggers if you feel the need to see the world.

I already do that, but it doesn't feel fulfilling anymore.

    Just do it.

What's your biggest fear about travelling?

Why dont you write where you are from?
Your first travel will be a tourist travel. Your not a traveler yet. Go anywhere that looks beautiful with a good tourism industry. Dont have something planned everyday, and do "nothing" some days. Things end up happening. Godspeed

If you have the money you could plan for a shorter vacation to test the waters, see if you are comfortable with the whole idea of traveling. If you like it next time go for a longer one, if you don't... That's it I guess?

Travel within your own country a couple of times to places as different from home as you can. If you can't cope with that then probably not.

Also maybe try already set up caravan and campsites or YHA's in more rural locations.

31 is a good age to do basically anything. You’re young enough to be able to set off on any life quest and also young enough to probably not know what quest you should choose, but old enough to have the maturity and sense of mind to figure it out. I don’t see why travel wouldn’t help with that.

NEETs can't do anything, they have no skills or or life experience or money. If you're well adjusted then what you said is correct

    Yes.
Do it before it's too late such as a health condition from NEET comes around or family responsibilities.

Do Thailand and stay at a hostel and unironically honestly tell people you've been living as a NEET and want to start living. Some will let you tag along on their adventures.

Hopefully you find who you are.

If you have been a NEET for that long get a shitty part time job, any job. You likely don't have the social skills to be able to enjoy traveling anyway. You can' t form social connections while traveling because you are transient.

I was a NEET in much of my twenties and I greatly regret it. I hated school, hated working and I wanted my life to be like when I got a snow day off school where I just watched tv, movies, played video games, etc. But I overdid it and all my social skills and self confidence atrophied and even at age 41 I still don't think I recovered fully from my long stint of being a shutin.
