Is there any place in Europe left that's somehow worth it to visit without being a parody of itself and completely overrun by tourists?

Is there any place in Europe left that's somehow worth it to visit without being a parody of itself and completely overrun by tourists?
I've been looking around for a few days trip with my parents but everything seems either fake, gay or fake and gay. Or simply completely boring for tourism.
I'm a swissgay btw. I think Switzerland actually is genuinely attractive for tourism, but being from here I know it inside out so I'd want something else.

Other than nature (which is always shitty to travel to without a car) I enjoy traditional and cultural tourism. I looked into Vienna which is a cultural wasteland, they're making feminist interpretations of classic operettas ffs. Germany and France are neck deep in their lefty-prog-woke-psychosis plus full of arabs and nogs so frick that. Same goes for Britain. Hell most of western Europe is already largely disgusting because it's full of riff-raff.
Maybe eastern Europe but it seems like that's largely fallen victim to mass tourism already as well.

I don't know either. I need good internet connection so it narrows a trip down to Europe or Asia. Honestly just feels like all I could do in Europe is go gawking at old buildings and eat in restaurants and that's about it. Most of Europe culturally just feels like bootleg USA these days.

I would say they are nice enough for a quick trip/ pass through because it's close by, cheaper, and they have enough to see and do for a short while so there isn't much reason not to and they're nice enough for that, but that's about it. Lets be honest here, eastern europe was just, not there... in history and culture, the same way that western europe countries were. Go to the Baltics and you'll see the history of the Danes, Swedes, Germans or Russians that were there running the place for all of recorded history, and I swear half the museum displays I saw in Poland were just items left behind by Germans after they were expelled from the lands. Go outside of the cities and there isn't really anything there to see at all for the most part. They're mostly just run down ex-soviet junk cities with nothing traditional or cultural in any direction. Demographically and homo-culturally, these diseases are basically a decade less progressed than in western europe, but they are getting there.. You wont go to Krakow, Vilnius, Prague, Tallinn without seeing blacks, women with rags on their heads, brown skinned delivery drivers every day.

You can give me (You)s with seethe all you like but you know its true. They will get the last laugh anyway but only because they'll outlive the west by about a decade at most

There were a lot of interesting old cultural things to do in western europe pre-2010. What he means is that basically after ww2 the east european countries stopped adding anything culturally whatsoever. And probably feels like people who didnt create the place are living there. Still I bet it’s nice but I dont want to see brown people and his description of Talinnin puts me off.

What I want to know is, if Europeans hate tourism in their towns so much, what are they planning on doing for work? They gonna hit up the ole salt mines? Maybe become proficient using a loom? They gonna get into agriculture with all of their vast open fields? Tourism is cake work. You just have to be a little tolerant, and you get to have the easiest job known to existence, besides maybe motherhood. Or, you can be like one of those towns in Italy that sells houses for 1 dollar, because you have no fall back industry, you lazy moronic sacks of shit that rely on others to keep you afloat and then instead of being greatfull, you b***h and moan at ever step along the way.

most euros dont work in tourism and dont profit of tourism. people who profit of tourism are often arrogant to the bones and hold political influence via lobbying which sucks for the common people. and the guys doing the actual labour in hotels and tourism facilities are often guest workers from abroad, so basically wage dumping. and international tourism also means that all the recreational areas in your vicinity are flooded with foreigners and the prices there are outrageously high, essentially blocking you from enjoying them.

so why would i not hate tourism in my country?

Same. I never went back. Not spending my money on people who literally hate me. Other countries were far better. Barcelona was pretty bad too, but notnlike italy. In barcelona, it was more like
            >we want to scam you and we are better than you because we’re spics. Deal?
Like, the typical miami attitude. But in shitaly it was straight up hatred, like I worry about going there for my safety type of hatred. They dont think they are better than you, they just really fricking hate you. It’s pure.

In france it depended on the region. Seemed like Parisians didnt exist, (its all Black folk now lol) but when they did they were more like the barcelona snobbery but without wanting to interact with you. Like they dont care if you know that they feel superior to you, so they just dont say anything. In southern and eastern france it was more laid back and relaxed, i’d definitely go back. Same with spain outside of Barcelona.

But shitaly? No fricking way. Granted I only went all over central italy. Like I visited every small tiny town. They definitely hate the shit out of me, I dont feel safe there. Will not be giving south italy a chance.

Italian bros im not hating on every single one of you ok just perplexed about why your country is so lauded as a travel destonation when it seems that your culture is actually the opposite of the reasons youre lauded for (you tend to be unfriendly, mean etc).

                >this reputation of "friendly passionate friendly chatty people"
Boomers and the shitlibs of the mid-20th century invented this meme. This was back when shitaly was EXTREMELY CHEAP for a briton or american to retire to. Like mexico in the 90s dirt cheap. You know how boomers categorized mexicans and barious hispanics as “so warm, emotional, spicy, and friendly!” Back in the 2000s? Same origin for the italian meme, but the italian meme originated in the 60s when it was dirt cheap like mexico. and instead of american boomers inventing it, it was mostly british boomers.

To me, shitaly is a mongrel country like mexico and is NOT white. Plus there are swarms of dangerous immigrants there now. Just not a place you’d want to be.

No i was using that term as a proverb bro. I was trying to say that many morons go to Italy (or anwhere) and expect local people to treat them like they are kangz and kweenz. For.example.a.moron would go to italy and expect local italians to speak to them "hola signora!! Como se va!!' or.whatever which is moronicly unrealistic. "Get your dick sucked" is an english proverb that means "people treat you very nice'.

Dubrovnik is not all of Croatia m8. Where in Italy did your friends go? I've been to Central Italy twice and enjoyed it a lot. Modena and Siena are really cool cities but the best parts of Italy are the mountains and coastlines by far. Lots of great small town ristoros and trails.
Georgia is a good option for OP as long as he doesn't stuck around Tbilisi too much, although there's also the risk of terrorism due to the regional schisms with Russia so might also be why there's less tourism right now but there has been a ton of Russian money pouring in and driving up costs especially for locals.

Huh that sucks that Croatia is being pushed to the tourists so hard. I've always wanted to go to Split and the islands but if its getting to the point of overcrowding hopefully waiting out might fix that problem as people's money starts getting tighter. How have you found cost of things have changed in Croatia?
          >they both were treated so hostile and sadistically that they vowed never to return
Huh that's weird. I've never had a hostile reaction in Italy. Although I usually try usually try speak Italian where I can so the locals usually are more open to speaking English and I genuinely had some good times bar hopping with locals in Modena. Any cities you’ve heard of are busy but they tend to be unenjoyable only around the most famous sites. Nature needs a car and there you can find solace (even popular bits of Switzerland are not too busy)

Eastern Europe - the bit that fell behind the iron curtain after ww2 - was rebuilt from ruin by the soviets so there’s nothing there except the odd shrine to some novelist. Commie blocks and tired, brutalist amenities. Somehow there are areas which survived like the Hanseatic parts of the baltics which are nice. But it’s a void otherwise

I like Scandinavia and it’s nature tbh. Inhabitants are drones but the outdoors is lovely

Most tourists go in very specific zones. If you go to Zurich and Interlaken you'll also get angry it's not your chud paradise because there's a lot of tourists, Albanians and Portuguese everywhere. I'd know because I'm Swiss too.

If you go in Ireland and avoid Dublin and Galway, you can spend months without someone who's not ethnic Irish, there's insane landscapes everywhere and they're more racist than you'd even wish for.
Britain is the same, maybe try Cornwall and then Wales while you're there.
If you go in Dijon and complain there's not enough culture and the 8% of foreigners here are ruining your trip, you should not travel and stay angry online.

I still don't know what to take from that point. You can go to multiple places in greece and it's either majority german, scandinavian or brits. You take a car or scooter and drive 5 min. further from where sightseeing busses stop and your are alone with hardly any tourist. Also the only reason I mention Athens is because OP wanted cultural tourism and since Athens is a airport hub you might as well stay 2 days there. Now put your hate boner someplace else.

Grow a pair and go to South America.

It’s what I’m doing next for the same reason as you.

    >I enjoy traditional and cultural tourism

What do you even mean by that? Such a trite statement but to be expected from a Swiss person, the most soulless and boring people in Europe. You can't even express what it is you're looking to find so good luck with finding it. What do mummy and daddy want to see instead? We might be able to give some recommendations based on what they want.

Romans are famous for being buttholes, maybe the worst in any city in the world. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    CALABRIA.

Nothing to do besides eat, seaside, and see old dying towns but by god if you flock there and bring in money it might not die within the next 20 years.

This leaf is spamming this whole "I was treated sadistically in Italy" spiel on every board. Here are a few examples of his mythomania:

Yes we all know it's some passive-aggressive Canadian freak. I hate the people in Canada so much. Probably said "HI" in a b***hy karen voice to some random guy at a till and then spent the next 20 minutes seething because the cashier didn't immediately start sucking his dick. There's a reason why the Quebecois hate the Anglos so much here and they are correct for hating them.

I have never been to Italy! I just know people who have and they all said it was a twisted place.

And ill admit to being a bit annoying in my posts ok fine. Im just annoyed that my wife and brother/his wife are pushing for the four of us to go there and i am pissed about it.

I am not even Anglo and i hate the kind of canadians youre talking about. Im actually an extremey cool fun guy.

I can't think of any redeeming qualities of any European country, There's nothing in any European country I couldn't get down the road in Canada. Turkey or Morocco are much more appealing. Europeans derailed themselves so hard over the past century it's actually hilarious.

I thought you had legitimate complains at first, like nature being tricky to access when you travel without a car, but
    >I looked into Vienna which is a cultural wasteland, they're making feminist interpretations of classic operettas ffs. Germany and France are neck deep in their lefty-prog-woke-psychosis plus full of arabs and nogs so frick that. Same goes for Britain. Hell most of western Europe is already largely disgusting because it's full of riff-raff.
My advice is to forget about traveling, and to stay in your crumbling American town.

If you can't appreciate the imperial grandeur of Vienna, the magnificent statues and the Art Deco fountains, the museums and classical music concerts, because of some other homosexual cultural events you aren't forced to attend, you either didn't visit or you are so thin-skinned that traveling will always end up being a nightmare for you.
Also you are a moron if you go to Venice during summer, and Paris and London have always been full of riff-raff. Hitler hated Vienna because it used to be heavily socialist. Berlin is gay central just like Munich is more conservative (and boring). Stop being such a whiny b***h and grow a spine. We don't need more huffy-puffy tourists like you, we already have enough as it is.

    >Georgia
Just avoid tbilissi as it is filled with berlin like hipsters, Batumi is like a dubai rip off but in a good way, thai prostitutes, turkish food, cheap attractions
    >Bosnia
Because of the lack of beaches you wont find many tourists outside of Saudis that go there to find 2nd and 3rd wives
    >Latvia / lithuania /estonia
Baltic/slav countries without nordic degeneracy, without high prices, without ex ussr dirty streets

Someone who went to all 3 baltics told me the one with the least amount of Russians shitting up the place was the nicest one, I think it was Lithuania... which also looks like the most boring/least historic one.

    >Is there any place in Europe left that's somehow worth it to visit without being a parody of itself and completely overrun by tourists?
cant be bothered to read the rest of your post or this thread but do you understand the irony of your question? if there is such a place i sure as hell won't tell you about it lol. go to berlin, london, paris like the other foreigners. thanks

Come home white(ish) man. IDK man, traveling for "culture" is such a vague term. I interpret that as just wanting to see something that isn't what you're used to, the Balkans are that. there are a handful of cities that are a bit over run with visitors but for the most part it's a pretty quiet part of the world. Same goes for the Baltic states.

You can make any destination tourist free.

Step one, walk literally 500m away from the designated tourist containment zone

    Congrats you did it
