>tiananmen itself is the entrance to the forbidden city
Wrong
You can't cross the road. To go inside Tiananmen you need to pass a bunch of security checkpoints. Different path to go to the forbidden city. They kept them separated. It's a pain in the ass.
You can visit Mao inside Tiananmen (usually a kilometer line but it goes fast) if they still allow foreigners inside, I was literally the only one of 2000 Chinese there. Don't bring a camera. Also >Visiting china after corona
Yikes. It's a pain in the ass.
suit yourself you pedantic tit. when i went there a few years ago i went through the massive gate to get to the forbidden city. it's still right next to the square
It was extremely polluted when I went and was constantly bombarded by beggars and peddlers trying to sell me cheap trinkets of Mao shit and people trying to grab my curly blond hair, pretty much molesting me. There was a giant telescreen showing a beautiful landscape which was pretty ironic, and there was a huge hammer and sickle. There was hardly anywhere to find a water bottle so we had to suck on these coconut popsicles to stay hydrated. It was extremely muggy too.
It wasn't about Otto stealing a poster, it was China using North Korea as a proxy to intimidate the US by holding a guy ransom, torturing him for years and then throwing him back to his parents when he's already lobotomized from botulism + North Korea's whole foreign relations strategy is extortion and intimidation. It's a power move by China and NK would not exist without China. Should Otto have stolen that poster? No but it's really not about the poster.
If you go to china I recomend you only going with carry on.
If some corrupt staff of the airport of your country plants you drugs the chine police will do shit to investigate you case and send you to prison some decades.
I preferred to look at it from the North.
There's some hill in the middle of some park, you can get a good view of that area in case the air quality isn't shit that day.
it's just a square where people gather to take selfies
but the tiananmen itself is the entrance to the forbidden city so yeah go there

Maybe you went during the anniversary of you know what. I was there recently. Just one security check point to go in and out.

at least they never planted drugs in your bags and/or broke your spine. you should be thankful.
i'm confused is this a meme or something that i'm unaware of? i see this posted on every thread
Airlines doesn't want us to talk about these issues.
But there are toons of confirmed cases of people that got drug planted in their suitcase.
We don't know how many people are facing long sentences while being innocents.
Me again
I'm trans btw it's why people keep planting things in my bags
its an autist spamming the board
report and ignore
you're getting china confused with north korea, my guy
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Warmbier
Otto Warmbier stole some propaganda shit.
No one planted him drugs in the airport.

same. worst pollution I've seen, and I've been to India
I flew through the beijing airport during an airpocalypse and it was insane. It was like being in a steam room but orange.
When the frick was this? 2003?
2011, so I'm sure it's come a long way since then
