I fricking hate the new Istanbul airport.
Huuuge fricking maze, takes ages to get from one place to another.
Kansas city
horrible. about 10 feet of walking room for ALL the foot traffic.
It's too bad, because it was built right before the age of airport security. Originally it was designed so that you could park near your gate and walk from your car into the terminal and be fairly close to your plane. Couldn't have been a worse setup once security measures went into place in the 70s, it's been hamstrung by that architecture since.
I wonder when the new terminal will get finished. Seems like they'd been planning for it for well over a decade. Theirs is a case where they really do need a new terminal.
That's a shame, never have been through DFW but I got the impression it was alright
Check out Las Vegas's new terminal & parking decks
New terminal supposed to be done before the 2026 World Cup.
Still going to be a relatively small airport compared to a lot of the other host cities though.
Is something wrong with me if I think these look kino?
They have more soul than the globohomosexual asian airports
I like the new Vegas terminal
Marco Polo airport (Venice) is a huge fricking mess.
I don't even know how to describe it but there's no simply walking to your gate and sitting there like in any other airport.
It's a random mess of lines and walking areas and gates all thrown into a blender. Fricking hated it.
Best airport: Schiphol (Amsterdam). Narita (Tokyo) is also comfy.
Schiphol is good but it’s not close in level to Changi
Narita is comfy but too far out of the way, Haneda is better for this reason
I just had a layover in Amsterdam and it fricking stunk. Maybe it was my shit terminal but the sun was baking through the windows and it was so packed full of sweaty eurotrash and geezers. There was hardly a place to sit, let alone sleep.
Also Frankfurt is a poo pile
> Schiphol (Amsterdam)
I’ve lost count of how many times my luggage got lost in Schipol. The restaurants there are kinda shit as well.
Dallas/Ft Worth for a couple of notable reasons. There are multiple terminals and getting between them requires a lot of walking and taking a tram. There are also multiple runways and they are also spread out so chances are you will spend 30 minutes just taxing out to where you need to take off.
I avoid it if I can
The only redeeming factor for DFW is that all the airline lounges are very nice.
The gates are organized A, B, C, D, and E but the tram doesn't go in alphabetical order. who the frick designed it that way what the frick.
Heathrow.
Land and you're greeted by all poojeet workers who can't even speak English clearly.
Kek I had a similar experience at Charles De Gaulle
The last time I connected there, an poo was at immigration. She asked "What is the reason for your visit" I wanted to say so bad, "When are you going back to india?".
Panama City has no air conditioning and cops up your ass thinking you are muleing drugs I feel bad for people that are from there.
Frankfurt is a gigantic mess. Never try connecting there, it's a maze of arbitrarily tagged on corridors. You will almost certainly get lost there.
Had a layover there going back to the states from Istanbul. When I landed Ilat Frankfurt, i had about approximately 30 minutes to deplane, get my passport checked by the cops, sprint through the terminal, get on a Tram, sprint to the security check point, get a secondary check at security, sprint to the gate, get my covid docs checked, sprint to the newley assigned gate, sprint back to another secondary security screening, and then sprint back to the plane as the last one on. All while carrying a 30 pound duffle bag in my arm and another 12 pound backpack
I was literally dripping sweat from head to toe and they seated me next to 2 hot spanish girls. I'm a fat frick by the way. 250 pounds. Shit was terrible
Never again
i have a 2 hour layover in frankfurt. perhaps your terrible experience was due to your poor planning. don't blame the spanish girls.
Frankfort was a maze of glass dividers and signs in many languages, would not recommend. Not comfy.
Toronto (YYZ). Never seen a more disorganized airport.
past the gates? or just the mass of new canadians trying to figure out what check in desk to go to?
i dont like torontonians in general, but its typically been rather painless procedure going through there (apart from the airport tax)
YYZ's security lines are the biggest fricking joke in existence. When I flew from there in February (before the massive travel wave a few months later) it took me over 2 hours to go through security and the entire airport was fricking PACKED. Shoulder to shoulder will poojeets and stinky arabs. Staff is rude as frick and it was incredibly understaffed. Everyone in the 2nd security line (to go to the States) missed their flight to Puerto Rico due to the lineup. YTZ is a far better airport and if you can fly from there, do so.
>he doesn't fly first class and use special security lines
ngmi anon.
Agreed. Although I feel arrivals are notably worse than departures out of YYZ but it’s not saying much.
i did not like JFK domestic terminal. they would have 4 gates not in use, then 1 gate boarding 3 flights at once
however ive only flown through at christmas break times - so that added to the fun.. i did get where i was going
wait this is an American airport? This looks like a middle eastern shitbox.
Phoenix basically feels like the Middle East, especially in climate
Arizona LARP's being the Middle East so much they sold water rights to Saudi Arabia!
America has deserts, moron
Yeah, so does Australia, you can make desert airports without making them look like a depressing concrete hotbox
God who cares how it looks
It literally says in on the fricking plane
HOUSTON (IAH?) is called the Devil's butthole
Houston here. IAH is a dump and stinks. It has very good destinations, but it's a stinker. Hobby airport is much worse.
>Hobby airport is much worse.
Watched a walk-through of it, seemed alright... what is bad about it?
Never had a problem other than finding parking.
moron can't read the signs and doesn't know to stay left. Hope you had to do that loop 3 or 4 times before you got to parking lol. skyharbor is a fine airport aside from having to do long walks sometimes because it's set up like a giant rectangular outline.
There's annoying airports, and then there's the Guatemala city airport
>Customs form is microscopic
>On a connection? Get fricked, you have to go through customs and security even if your flight leaves in 1 hour
>There's at least 1 bathroom not working at all times
>Street vendors everywhere outside the airport
>Few desks, most airlines don't have online check-in when departing from there
>Not a lot of restaurants and most open at 6-7 am and close at 10 pm
At least the lounge is decent
Hurghada
Two terminals split between european and arab airliners. Which is a problem if you're flying to Europe via an arab airliner. Nobody tells you this. There is no signage to indicate this anywhere. The terminals are 2km apart with no walkpaths or free transfer. You have to pay a taxi to take you between terminals.
I don't even know what country that is
Egypt. Dysfunctional land with the worst scammers ever.
Pretty much what I expected, but Mohammed V Airport (Casablanca) was pretty trash.
>huge line extending outside of the airport despite it being hot as balls outside
>realize it’s the pre-security line just to be able to enter the terminal, security is another long wait
>aggressive Moroccan men bickering and fighting with each other while waiting in line, witnessed multiple fist fights while their wives screamed
>people literally traveling with their chickens, 10 suitcases, 12 children and ancient grandparents
>third-world-style military everywhere with ARs
>food options are packets of chips or the worst restaurant food you will ever have
Interesting contrast, I haven't been there, but Marrakesh airport seemed pretty normal. Nothing fancy but nothing bad either, I went through the usual queues and then waited for my flight.
CDG. No need to elaborate, anyone who has been there more than once or twice knows.
>CDG
This. I'll take scammers, aggresive military wannabe security guards and terrible luggage holders over the arrogant, rude and useless staff this airport considers to be competent.
Annoying cos Air France aircrew seem to be good and it would be a nice place for me to avoid airtax out of.
2nd place: Dusseldorf: Almost as bad as the above with slightly better organisation but teutonic c**try
Best: Minneapolis-St.Paul
Worst: Everywhere else
>Best Minneapolis
Absolutely fricking horseshit. I was just there on a flight from MSP to AMS.
>Get there 3 hours before
>Delta flight line fricking packed
>Everyone forced to go to check in counter due to covid rules
>7 checkin counters open
>6 of them never move the entire 3 hours
>All Somalis flying in massive groups
>completely disorganized with paperwork
>it's like they didn't know you had to show IDs to fly
>one counter moving people, for three hours
>people in line start to complain
>finally get more help
>have to run through all of security line
>get to gate
>more Somalis going to AMS blocking the line once again
>they line up even though their group isn't called
>they don't move but are first in line
>no one else moves either since they are blocking the way
It's all so tiresome.
Schiphol fired most of their workers during the lockdowns* so now they have nobody for security checks and other essential tasks
my lufthansa flight got cancelled saturday, and yday there was a line for the boarding pass check that extended half a km outside the airport and then snaked back in some more, probably 4 hours long
had to be a homosexual and cut in line otherwise id have missed my flight
gj holland for having more hookers than airport crew
*talked with some guys on break and this is what they said
All american ones. Shebooty and her melanin friends make it miserable and strut around in their TSA uniforms like they are cops. I have yet to be in a clean US airport.
GRU (Sao Paulo). If you need anything, good luck. Pretty much none of the staff speak English, and this is in the country's largest hub airport. If you go to a service desk for example, they will just go "oh hold on, we'll get the one guy who speaks English."
Lima Peru airport is a shit hole. It makes airports in USA deem like cathedrals
Going there via Schipol next week. Filled with dread now thanks to this thread
Be sure you have at least 3 hours between connecting flights because they don’t move your luggage, they unload the plane, you have to pick it up and take to next ticket counter and check baggage. Twice I’ve missed flights, they do this because corruption, the want you to stay in Lima and get expensive hotel or rent a bed at the airport hotel. I’ve only seen worse filth in Bolivia compared to Lima Peru
I think I’m just going to take hand luggage , I’d rather travel with the bare minimum and stink all the time than go through that.
From my experience 99% of problems at airports are from checked luggage.
I have a 17 hour layover in Schipol because I was so paranoid about queues.
Why are they trying to make travel impossible?
the nature of institutions and bureaucracy Travelling by plane has become a kafkaesque nightmare. I used to dread who was sitting next to me, now i dread every airport I have to pass through. For those who say U.S. airports are bad, try flying through colombia, or peru or other shit holes, some cities they're worse than bus stations. When I get back to the U.S. many times I feel like a travelled 50 years into the future.
RIP, I hope it's not a quick connection
Prepare for 4 hour security queues
1. CDG, it's another level of hell
2. GRU, completely disorganized and almost zero english speaking personnel
3. FRA and JFK both are dated as frick grew wildly and connections are hell.
JFK is pretty crowded and full of low IQ mutts, but in my experience it’s pretty well-organized at least.
Flying out of there domestic this Friday. Is it a really big airport? Only really flown Newark.
Yes, and it sucks if you switch airlines too because you’ll have to take the train to the next terminal and go through a horrifically long security line again
CDG wasn't that bad.
>flight changes gates 4 times within the timespan of 2 hours
>staff doesn't understand basic english related to basic tasks in their stupid simple job
>signage randomly is missing some terminals but if you keep going to the general direction you will find the place
>shitskins that were never potty trained make a mess of the toilets and toilets probably get "cleaned" once a day by some illiterate Black person
Otherwise it was alright. Food wasn't even that overpriced if you got it from the kiosks that were out of the way.
i don't like the tsa at miami airport they are mean until they realize you are in transit and not staying in usa
>STOP RIGHT THERE SIR WHY ARE YOU LEAVING BAGGAGE CLAIM WITHOUT A BAG YOU"RE UNDER ARREST
When I was in Dublin airport, they changed my gate 3 times. I couldn't read my newspaper in peace because I had to pay attention to new announcements
Dallas, Newark, JFK
> Manchester is a US investment owned cesspit. You don't want to know what they cut costs on. I was a manager and heard things
> Liverpool as it's a nice airport for its size. Nobody is willing to invest for a runway extension due to Manchesters consistent success, therefore it's sad as it's constantly shadowed
>Manchester
I was gonna say this. Nothing worse than going to some nice place abroad and coming back to grey, dull, uninviting Manchester airport. Although I went recently and the security queues weren't as bad as everyone says
Kafka International in Prague.
Cairo. What an absolute shithole.
The airport itself isn't bad but frick the security staff at Tel Aviv.
stop it with that antisemitism.
How do you know they were israeli?
Copenhagen airport needs to be demolished
How so? I just went there some days ago and it wasn't bad.
>Rudest staff on the planet
>Different terminal numbers even though it's the same terminal
>Multiple signs to the same place but pointing in multiple different directions
>Toilets from 1968
Generally just an unpleasant, confusing and claustrophobic 1960s turd
>Rudest staff on the planet
is there any airport with nice staff? seems like rude staff has been a theme this whole thread
No other airport has stood out to me as being staffed by complete dickheads like Copenhagen.
Which staff did you interact with?
Mexico City. Terminal 1 and terminal 2 have no walkway or rail connection you have to pay $2 to ride a fricking bus through traffic to get between them. Also terminal 1 is dirty and dilapidated as frick. And crowded. 2/10
This, Mexico City is the worst airport on the planet. And none of the staff speak a word of English (not trying to be that guy, I am trying to learn Spanish, but I expect staff in a major international airport to be able to help me and communicate in English)
Just a complete dump filled with unhelpful morons
>>sign says go forward to terminal 4
>>road splits with no clear signage directing you
forward
>>you are now leaving the airport
japanese railway stations general
Atlanta always sucks.
Tampa is a simple, clean, and nice airport.
>Atlanta always sucks.
Of the jumbo airports in the US it's the easiest to connect at, very simple layout
had a shitt experience in tunesia, but only bc of the workers
Stop being effeminate buttholes an airport is an airport worry more about eating your overseas girlfriends butthole asap
