Best travel show ever made, sincerely. I rewatch it almost every year. It's the most accurate depiction (in my mind) of what it's like as a young guy looking to explore and have a good time. They make connections, seem like genuine people, are fit enough to do interesting things, and often showcase the best of what a place has to offer. As old pals, Scott and Justin play off and compliment each other perfectly. Scott the straight man, Justin the wild card, with some healthy reversals and character surprises. It's not scripted, they're having real fun with each other. It reminds me of old Top Gear in that way. Andre is a talented cameraman too, it's beautiful to watch. Peak comfy IMO. When I feel the itch to travel and I can't at the moment for whatever reason, I throw on this show to momentarily slake my desire.

I always liked three sheets with zane lamprey and the old globetrotters series. Madventures was good too. It's sad the travel genre died with bourdain, but it isn't really necessary anymore with the travel youtubers.

Three sheets and globetrotters with English Ian were great back in the day. Zane tried to crowd fund some new show but I never bothered following it up

It's a shame that Three Sheets came along at exactly the wrong time. No big TV networks wanted to risk it because they thought it promoted binge drinking and drunkenness, which really wasn't the case (and the same networks would probably happily air 'The Hangover' or 'Superbad').

If Zane had focused on YouTube earlier, he'd probably be really big by now, and his current content is pretty weak and poorly marketed. Shame.

Keep in mind that Justin is mildly moronic and Scott is a cuck

Another show that's very very similar to departures is an Aussie show called Backpackers. 3 child hood friends hit the UK and Europe. It's extremely similar and just as good. Came out around the same time

Thanks for the rec, am watching the pilot now and it's pretty good. Has more of a 90s feel which I like.

Loved this show as a kid. It's kind of boring as an adult now. probably because my own travels have been more exciting than filmed on the show.

Just watched the Thailand ep. It’s pretty neat he actually joined a fight in the ring even though he didn’t have any fighting experience
