Beautiful beaches, cheap, some of the trashiest, most hideous women in Europe, had food poisoning for the first and only time in my life there.

I kept hearing if you go to morocco's coastal regions you WILL get food poisoning, even the locals get it.

been there for 2 months, ate seafood plenty, brushed teeth with tapwater, never wash hands before eating, and it didn't happen. Just don't be a immunesystemlet

I don't think you go places like Albania to coooom. Sure, you can. But why? Just go to an established red light unless you're under 30 and do the hostel adventure thing.

Hostel is trashier than red light. At least red light is organized and regulated. Hostel is vile

Stayed in a hostel in Tirana, and it was pretty classy. Rather amusing though at around 11pm, people were still being loud outside, and some neighbour threw a bucket of water from his flat over 'the party'.

I met an American backpacker in Cartagena who raved about Albania, said it was one of his favorite countries in the world. Very hospitable and friendly people, he said. By comparison, he was not impressed by Colombia.

here's the cold hard truth: every women under 30 is a huge bawd, you just werent good looking or rich enough for them when you visited albania

these mutts even lie about albanians being muslims. nobody takes islam seriously in albania, that's the first thing you notice once you enter the country if you're not a sub 80 IQ mutt projecting le based twitter narratives

mosques are empty, nobody wears hijab not to mention burqa, they openly drink alcohol and take drugs, and care about the religious connotations of holidays as much as the average Japanese cares about Christmas being the revive of Jesus

Decent country. Go there now, as the coast will become Greece/Croatia in the coming years. I believe that Tirana Airport is owned by some corrupt official and bought a monopoly on airspace within 250miles, or something, which is soon ending. There's plans for Wizzair-tier airports in Vlore and Sarande, which will = mass tourism.

Theth - Valbona hike is one of the best things I've done in life.
Dhermi is chill. Gjipe beach is great.
Asked the barman for coke in Sarande and a guy came in 20mins. Got served it on a plate with cut up straws.

Bring a tent and camp. You can camp anywhere, make fires anywhere and just do whatever the frick you like.

just wanted to cosign this as you said pretty much exactly how i feel. I've been every year since 2020 when they were pretty chill about covid so i escaped there for the summer.
place gets a lot of bad press abroad, but i've come to the conclusion Albania actively sends its arseholes abroad cos every albanian ive met in london is a criminal or a prostitute and is a c**t either way. But over there everyone is chill, the country is super pretty, very cheap and a lot of fun.

Other thing I'd add is its easy to move about a bit, I did N Macedonia, Kosova, Serbia and went down to northern greece really easily when i did 5mths there last year

if i had to give a downside or two? The language is pretty difficult. The rubbish everywhere, especially in nature is depressing, Also its easy to make friends and hang out but the women arent 'just fricking'. YMMV, but opportunities to hook up are limited by values, their friends and families who never seem to be far away and the fact they know you're leaving soon.
On the plus side a girl i met in Korcha, came to London and we fricked here. But then the curse hit and she became a prostitute and c**t.... must be something about london.
tl;dr - Go soon before it becomes super busy and expensive

          >How did she become a prostitute?
the short answer to that question is opportunity, and the freedom to do so with little consequence. without going full /misc/ sprinkle in some inherent woman thinking and great breasts et voila...

        >i've come to the conclusion Albania actively sends its arseholes abroad
Might be that the kosovars are tainting the bigger picture.
Back when it wasn't raycist to do so, news reports put them at about 80% of honour killings in here germany. Anyone killed their ex-girlfriend or sister? Yeah, it was a kosovo-albanian. (As for the rest - morocoans or other arabs ~10%, russians 5%)
Also the main reason I wouldn't recommend albania for coomers. Might get some of that flak if sister / daughter dearest goes astray with you.

          >Also the main reason I wouldn't recommend albania for coomers. Might get some of that flak if sister / daughter dearest goes astray with you.

How do you explain however the disparity between this supposedly ultra conservative Albanian attitude towards women having sex outside of marriage or some longterm relationship, and them wearing less than pretty much anyone on the continent and hypersexualizing their image in every way (not to mention calling themselves "muslims")?

It is true tho and I observed kosovars/albanians to be wholly entrenched in some high school "true love forever" hollywood story ideal. But I've never been able to reconcile how certain countries' entire existence essentially revolves around crime/gangsterism/mafia and the ice cold prostitute aesthetic, but your chances of actually having sex there are less than virtually anywhere else

            >how are they 'pure' whilst dressing so loose
Because they've understood the point of dressing attractively to attract a mate for a meaningful relationship not just for a night.

you want a man, a good man who you're going to marry and start having kids with soon. problem is lots of other girls want that too. so you better use the only thing you have going for you... i also think this is why some 'westerners' get in trouble in these kind of places...they associate the dress with the behaviour

as for muslims..even if thats so, look how they do their eye makeup in their burkhas and shit.

              >I want a meaningful relationship
LOL, starting off an entire encounter with an all-encompassing demand for something entirely changeable and arbitrary is not the kind of woman I care to meet.

                >LOL, starting off an entire encounter with an all-encompassing demand for something entirely changeable and arbitrary is not the kind of woman I care to meet.

presumably an encounter with someone who has no idea what they want isnt the guy 'she' might want to meet. in that case you'd both be disappointed when the encounter doesn't go as you expected...you don't get to have easy sex, she doesn't meet her partner.
still interesting view point -I'd rather people knew what they wanted and were clear about it... we've allhad that girl who only wants something casual and in the end tries moving in

                >you want a man, a good man
                >Assuming the girls who dress like that are attracted to men
They are 100x more attracted to the attention they will get in social media as well as competition with other girls than they're doing it all for some average "good" man XD

                >They are 100x more attracted to the attention they will get in social media as well as competition with other girls than they're doing it all for some average "good" man XD
yeah this is a fair point, but "competition with other girls" is ostensibly "competition for a mate" no matter how they frame it. Social media just gamifies that competition and extends the playing field.

No it's a competition to look the prettiest of the all from the male perspective ("male gaze" as the feminists want to call it), but not for the actual male itself

Thank god! Buses in Albania FRICKING SUCKS. Albanian morons are so cheap that they wont turn on the fricking AC and the windows cant be opened. I traveled from Tirana to Ksamil by bus and it was 4 hours inside of this sauna.

Of course the fricking driver had his own window open. It was the same hell going back to Tirana. Never again.

Ksamil beaches are also 100% private. They are all sold to beach clubs and you cant use them without paying. Fricking disgrace.

I want to encourage travelers to go to Albania if they want to see unspoiled nature. So much of the coastline, forests, and lakes are as they have been since the Romans occupied the country. The cost of living is rising, with the apartment I had in Tirana shooting up from 420 to 680/mo in the span of a year. There are still plenty of unspoken rules about how things work in the country that dissuade casual travelers, but you have to learn them or else you will face a bad time. Go this decade, because things may not be the same next decade.

place gets a lot of bad press abroad, but i've come to the conclusion Albania actively sends its arseholes abroad cos every albanian ive met in london is a criminal or a prostitute and is a c**t either way. But over there everyone is chill, the country is super pretty, very cheap and a lot of fun.

Other thing I'd add is its easy to move about a bit, I did N Macedonia, Kosova, Serbia and went down to northern greece really easily when i did 5mths there last year

              >I'll be in Tirana mostly, I'll try make the best of it, I've got a two weeks.
thats a lot of time for just Tirana if you're just hanging out...but depending where you're staying..

hang out at skandeberg square in the evening. its relatively cheap and there's lots of young/trendy people there so if you're looking to meet people -thats not a bad shout as they'll speak english. Also Folie Terrace is there and thats a good night out. Also they host MMA sometimes in the square and if you dont pay to go in you can see it on the screens.
If you like football I followed Partizani while i was there - its not like the premiership, the football isn't as good but it's much more fun, you can drink on the terraces and once people see you a couple of times you get 'accepted'.
You'll know Blloku is where all the nightlife is - this is pretty pricey and be careful, if a girl is gorgeous - she's most likely there with a gangster. on the flipside I had girls approach me -and I'm maybe a firm 6/10 - mainly to 'practise english'. i explain above i didnt have sex with anyone in Albania, but i did get a few dates and the odd snog.
If you stay near Blloku you'll be in the student district (again higher level of english) also the park is amazing i used to do a couple of laps 3/4 times a week. They also hold concerts here in summer.

              >Did shagging the Gypsies not appeal to you?
some of the gypsies are genuinely beautiful. most of them are not. but either way we have enough Gypos in the UK to know if you do frick one of the she'll be the last person you frick -either cos you have to marry them, or more likely because you're going to be found under some black market concrete job in 30 years time.

Criminal race, human traffickers, Mexico of Europe, drug dealers, degenerates, worst of the worst, balkanoids on the outside - gypsies/Black folk on the inside. The only reason they exist is because the international israelite wants them to live so they poison white Europe with drugs.

I was there in August and enjoyed it a lot. The people were friendly despite their reputation in the rest of Europe and I never once felt unsafe. It's a small country but getting around is a bit of a pain, the public transport just isn't that great. Use gjirafa for bus tickets going to other cities, and don't expect a comfy ride. Also don't expect anyone to speak English, that's part of the reason why getting around can be a pain. Also echoing what other people have said about it being the next Croatia in 5-10 years. Kosovo is also worth a visit if you have the time, there are direct buses from Tirana to Prizren.

      Anonymous

It is crazy how safe it feels even late night walking through back roads. I was expecting to have a few worrying experiences. But not even once did I see a group of guys that I should be around.

Everyone mentions how bad the busses are, they weren't the best but pretty average from countries that aren't rich. What did you find difficult?

The only downside I'll add us that it's more expensive that I thought it should have been.

How long does it take to get to Kosovo?

        Anonymous

Absolutely, never once had even a sketchy experience, I'm convinced they must export all the scum to other countries and mostly only decent people are left.

The worst part for me was finding out the schedules and what bus went from were, probably fine if you can speak Albanian but it's pretty hard for a tourist. I agree the buses themselves aren't the worst in the world but it's just something for tourists to be aware of, the overcrowding on them especially. I'm 190cm and had basically nowhere to stretch my legs for 3 hours on the bus to Kosovo with how many people I was sandwiched in between.

I also thought was more expensive than I expected, probably because tourism is clearly increasing, I think 2025 will probably be the last year before there's genuine mass tourism there.

It took about 3 and a half hours from what I remember, including the stop for food and drink along the way. I think the bus I went with was operated by Arditi Tours, you can find their tickets on gjirafa, the ticket has to be printed though so I got my hotel to print it. The drive there had some amazing scenery.

I missed out on Kosovo, I was too stupid to think of it and I probably won't get to go to Albania again.

It was definitely way more expensive than I expected for the kind of country it is, nothing to do with tourism thing, hardly anyone goes still. A lot of factors. By the way way are you all so sure it's going to be a big tourist destination in the future? What is the source of this speculation?

By the way walking down the street was unreal, young model looking girls, outnumbering met 4 to 1, it actually seemed staged, just to frick with me, I kept looking around thinking what is this place. I wonder that that's all about. If only they were prostitutes it would actually be paradise. Please tell me you experienced the same.

            >By the way way are you all so sure it's going to be a big tourist destination in the future? What is the source of this speculation?

I don't know about a 'big' tourist destination but it's already really increasing in popularity. Passenger numbers have doubled already from 2019 to 2023 and they just expanded Tirana airport for 10m capacity. That's before all these new Ryanair routes have started too which are really cheap. There's also plans for an airport in Vlore although it's stalled a bit.

Exactly how crowded does it get on the coast in the summer? I've heard about how bad it has gotten in recent years and I was considering spending a week or two there next summer.

Ryanair are starting up something like 20 routes to Tirana at the end of this month so clearly things are only going to get way busier. The timings from my city line up nicely for a quick Saturday to Tuesday trip to check the city out even though I've heard it's boring. Anyone know if Berat or Kruje is best for a day trip from Tirana?

You're guessing though, I wonder if one guy went and was intimidated out of even trying and reported back. And because of how you see Albanians in your country it's easily assumed that it's best not to talk to their women.

Plenty countries have a tough guy culture Russia, Thailand, Columbia is a big one is Columbia, they'll shoot you over 10$ but nobody thinks twice about doing some fricking disgusting things to their daughters and Sisters.

because balkans in general is quite conservative place where being a prostitute is considered a very bad thing, shocking I know.
add islam and actual nationalism to that and you get albanians. it's a very backward country for better or worse and if you're going somewhere to pick up women the balkans really isn't the place for you. maybe croatia and slovenia but even there I don't think the women match the west when it comes to... I'll be nice and call it "openness".

if you're looking to get married it's one thing, but you probably won't be picking up coeds in albania the way you can in the west. most women there actually want to get hitched asap and not get ran through with miles of wiener first.

Ok I didn't get to your comment before replying. That makes a bit of sense I stil haven't heard this from anyone's first hand experience though.

They're moronic if it's true, you don't only frick things up for foreigners you do to yourselves too. Imagine being a young guy and going out to find girls to potentially frick isn't even an option, only finding one to settle down when you're a 16 year old boy with raging urges. It might sound trivial but it's actually part of life as important to experience as anything else.

I live in kosova and visit albania frequently. There are definitely girls who you can hook up with but they're either gonna play hard to get and you're gonna have to work for it or you have to be rich.
As for the countries themselves, I fricking hate albania. Hotels suck ass, food sucks ass (their pizzas are nice tho) people are meh and as far as beaches go you either have sandy ones with muddy looking water or rocky ones with clear water.

As for Kosova, i fricking hate it too. Foods is alright, the infrastructure is 100x better than albanias, night-life is ass we only have clubs where people come to flaunt their wealth and buy bottles of champagne, 90% of the clubs don't even have dance floors. People are meh but you should be weary of turist traps from both kosovars and albanians.

I think both these countries suck ass and as a foreigner there's 0 zero for you to visit them, trust me.

Tirana is the city I stayed in. It was first world, but outside the city you could clearly see it was a 2nd world country that has half built projects all over, and no plan to finish them so they degrade.

Skandenberg was the man who saved Europe from the Ottoman Empire. The castles used in the defense are still there. You order chicken over rice, and mama grabs a live chicken and lops it’s head off right there. You’ll gain some purchasing power, but not like Cambodia or Venezuela

I spent 6 months in Tirana during Covid (was laid up with a broken shoulder). It was more western than I thought it would be. No call-to-prayer every 10 minutes. Good restaurants and supermarkets. They like Americans because the US helped them out in the war. Also they generally didn't give a frick about Covid. You could go almost anywhere without a mask - even staff wasn't wearing masks. But generally it's rough around the edges outside of the better parts of the city. I really didn't like the constant horn honking, worse than NYC. Spent a month at the beach in Sarande in the summer, again a bit rough around the edges, but okay.

i was in Saranda few months ago. My feelings are ambivalent.
There is tons of trash anywhere, dogs walking in the middle of streets or just dog corpses rotting just outside of some tourist attraction and no one cares to even clean them up. Sea quality varies from fine to shit and dirty, depends on place, time, weather...At public beach in Saranda some time before rain i swimmed in sea full of debris, some fricking pieces of papers floating... Absolutely disgusting. Maybe its better in private beaches in Ksamil but it was really really hard to find free place.
THERE IS TONS OF SANDBlack folk THERE. Dont know from where they come from, all cool trendy arabs with rollex, brand fake glasses, rented expensive cars, you know the look... And those sandBlack person women, all pumped dolled up, probably many of them spanish, at nights they sometimes do lot of noise in their cars screaming, playing shit techno at full volume or just blowing the horn entire lenght of the street. There is this funny club there Orange Club - which is very big , very normie club playing commercial type of music with arab MoC rapping some shit at stage and throwing papers in the air. Absolute shit music and its giant 100x100 dance scene which is absolutely full to the people everywhere - you can barely walk there, barely breathe so many normies. It was bit surreal seeing this, probably better to not buy any drinks there, as they will probably try to scam you. In Saranda there is flea market where you can buy things cheaper - good and cheap wine there.

Saranda is bit of a party city or it predends to be like that. There was 2 or 3 days of trance/prog house open air festival there, which was pretty cool but what really weirded me out, is that party was over at like midnight, and they moved to some closed off ship party where you had to have ticket to get in. In my country they would never end techno party this soon. It was 2 or 3 at the morning in maybe Sat or Sunday and i walked through Saranda with this weird realization that this city is already dead, streets empty, no clubs open, no music, maybe some bars lets. Bars were fine, like HardRock or something, and Jamaica coctail bar - some pretty good coctails. You can get drugs pretty easily.
So not great place for swimming and not a great place for party either. Weather was nice, especially evenings were really pleasantly warm and i liked geography of the place - road from Greece to Albania is long road through the mountains i really like how Albanian mountains look like there, some really impressive sights. And for sure best thing i saw was Butrint which is maybe 30minutes away from Saranda - really really cool ancient city that merged cultures of Greek, Albanian, Roman, Christian cultures. Its beautiful and they sell interesting souvenirst there, like a guy who sold miniature version of Greek statues - really cool. So yeah if you are there dont forget to check out Butrint, "Blue Eye" is also very famous but i dont see much appeal tbh. And i dont know about other parts of Albania. Also driving there is really really terrible, they drive like th

Usually if you see those dirty imitation celebrity Arabs you've made a wrong choice somewhere.

Shame you didn't enjoy the country, I did thoroughly. Did you notice that nearly all Albanian Women have the same shaped Ass? It's an unbelievable phenomenon, very strange.

      >dog corpses rotting
I've spent years in the Balkans and animal abuse and neglect begins in Croatia and continues all the way down to the Greek islands. I haven't been further east, but I assume it's similar. There is very little regard for cats and dogs generally and a high tolerance towards their abuse and killings. As a result I've concluded that these people are just human trash, with some exceptions of course. But generally, I can't stand to be around them. They also treat each other - even their closest neighbors like trash. I've learned not to trust anyone. They act western and want to be western but they're still very primitive... I was on the island of Paros in Greece and there were literally hundreds of starving cats around the trash bins. There's no public will to fund spay and neutering programs. Cultures like this are bad news through and through.

        >spay and neutur
Nobody rounds up stray animals to mutilate them and then dump them back in the street, apart from a handful of westernized countries. In LatAm, neutering a male dog or cat is rightfully considered animal cruelty. Amazing how warped your "morals" are...

Morality and ethics are two different things. In the Balkans spaying and neutering goes against the cultural mindset; that spaying & neutering will make cats and dogs go extinct. Average IQ in the region is below 90 outside of the cities. Their version of animal control is to feed them rat poison. Worse than rats, these people are.

Not sure how relevant it is today but I know someone who traveled throughout the eastern block before the fall of the Berlin Wall and said Yugoslavia (which was one of the most liberal communist countries at the time too) was the most backwards and the one he couldn't wait to leave.

wtf are you talking about, here in Argentima there are campaigns for that all the time, that and animal protection societies neutering stray cats dogs, giving them for adoption etc.

In Mexico the attitude that anon describes towards animals and the existence of roaming packs of stray dogs and cats is common. Neutering there exists and is something you can get at a veterinarian but few people seem to do it. Argentina doesn't seem to have the machismo society that Mexico, central america and Colombia do though.

I hate all muslims and add to the fact that Albanians are a very criminal heavy ethnic group, I don't care what Albania is like. I would never go.
