the loop in chicago is the only place worth going. el dorado in kansas is kind of cute, there's this donut shop that sells old donuts for ridiculously cheap on fridays or something
Chicago is a fine city, I went there for a musical festival and really enjoyed myself, I even like Minneapolis. But they seem more like good places to live than places to visit. That donut shop sounds adorable, I love those kind places.
I remember the loop in Chicago had some of the neatest public displays of art and experimental architecture, that was very nice. It was also during Lollapalooza so people were offering me MDMA and acid constantly, that made the experience worth it

stay the fuck out of the Midwest. Neither those places are nice or inhabitable. The Midwest is great for one thing and that's small communities. And city fucks like you are ruining it. Several small Iowan towns have been flooded with both you people and "urban youfs" looking to extend their welfare benefits since the cost of living is lower. Crime has skyrocketed because of it.
I honestly feel sorry for you for living in the mafia run state called Hawai'i. I was there that spring and was shocked how far it had declined in ten years. All my favorite hiking trail entrances were closed due to rich gays lobbying the city council. The poverty is unreal too. People paying $5000/mo in rent or mortgage but still living in a dump.
I hope you all turn it around. That tram system would be great if it actually worked.

You're not wrong, but theres still a ton of great hiking trails, and luckily all the beaches are public so the rich gays cant do anything about that, and I'm a scuba instructor so im here more for the ocean than anything else, luckily my family has some money and I'm in graduate school so I'll be making enough to not live in poverty. Also Oahu and Kauai are really the only islands with absolutely insane property costs, you can live on the big island without paying an exorbitant rent or mortgage.

Big island is great. Less tourists too. Everyone's beholden to Costco though. I remember spending $550 with a buddy of mine for one trip and we didn't even get much. Just some meat to grill, local fruit, and some booze. How the fuck do you survive?
The western half of South Dakota is lovely, namely the Black Hills area. The Badlands are cool, too, if you're into unique physiography.
I personally enjoy driving around the Sand Hills area in Nebraska, with Chadron being a picturesque oasis.
Note that the areas I'm mentioning are on the periphery of your map. Avoid Indian reservations in the Dakotas. East of the Missouri River is quite boring, unless you like corn fields and grain silos.
Yeah go literally anywhere else
If you've seen one Midwestern city and one Midwestern forest you've seen literally all of them
Plus there's morons here
Yes, Don't go.
There are people who take actual trips to the midwest? The American midwest?!

Minnesota,WI and IL have nice scenery. Iowa is boring as shit and looks the same no matter where you go.

Stick to the Badlands in the Dakotas, the Great Lakes like Michigan's upper peninsula, and Chicago. Everything else is pretty boring.
Minnesota is great if you like the outdoors. Stay the fuck out of Minneapolis though
