I spend about $100 to $150 a week not counting rent. I eat out about 1-2 times a week. Like the other anon said, clothes are expensive for some reason, probably having to do with the import fees and shit set by the moronic government. And being so far from home with no network and all that you will be really demoralized. Not even the kind of place you oculd really bring a girl or friend back with you. This is ludicrous. I have stayed in budget accomodations throughout Mexico and Colombia, and the majority of the time, they have been extremely clean, recently remodeled, and very comfortable. (Parts of northern Mexico frequented by migrants being a notable exception - budget accomodations there are neither cheap, nor clean, nor comfortable.)
I have paid 12 USD/day for an entire house on a hilltop in one of the most expensive cities in Mexico (Monterrey, January 2021). Suckers like you who throw away gobs of money on a place to stay - bringing home nasty whores and trashing the place - you give foreign travelers a bad name. But thankfully, in every city there are honest, upstanding people who take pride in their property and instantly perceive me as a upstanding and highly desirable tenant. I have no doubt that in Argentina I would be able to meet and shake hands with one such person, negotiate an affordable daily rate, and get a place of my own.
