My wage is 400 usd a month, a travel abroad cost around 2000 usd, at the bare minimum, I can only save 60 usd a month which is supossed to go on a emergencies fund so for mw to travel I would need to burn my emergency money and save for like 3 whole years to travel one place...
Im beyond demoralized bros
my wage is 900 but most of Europe is within bus distance so I go on 1 day trips for cheap
where are you? Romania?
Get a better job or are you neet? Join the military is another option, I would suggest the Air Force.
I am so thankful to be American. That wage is so pitiful.
The only positive thing about america is making fat money bumming it in your parents place
and then getting the fick out asap
Oldfag here, lived in 16 countries. Didn't even have a high-school education to begin with.
What's your:
>age
>nationality/languages
>skills, interests, work experience
And I'll give you at least 5 options
>age
26
>nationality/languages
american. english, spanish, some german - working on it.
>skills, interests, work experiences
i've worked as a substance abuse counselor for a few years, along with general mental healthcare (which seems to be uniquely american)
i'm great at documentation lol. am mechanically inclined. I've built a few muscle cars with my dad - knowledgable enough to do it on my own.
anything media/creative.
>mechanically inclined
Google "rubbertramping"
Not OP, but:
>20
>American
>About 5K in savings, 1K a month (Part-Time + University Student)
I want to go to Europe after I graduate in December, probably around March or April. How much should I save to be comfortable?
i wish i could tell you, i went to romania for 2 months with only $2,500 saved up. luckily i met a girl on omegle there and she let me stay with her parents the whole trip. pretty dope. just find someone you can live with
NTA but
>25
>American but can speak armenian and special Ed level spanish
>urban planning, land surveying, some data analysis and GIS
Help me anon I hate the pussy prison of the israelitesa and living with my parents
> I can only save 60usd/month
you need to cut down on your expenses, if you live with your parents it should be easy to save 50% of your income
also answer the oldfag bc indeed a lot depends on where you live and your personal background
>cut down your expenses
>like eat shit insteaf of your usual plain rice with cheap minced meat
I hate firstworlders so much, you seem to live in a complete different dimension just oblivious to the dumb shit you spit.
>I hate firstworlders so much, you seem to live in a complete different dimension just oblivious to the dumb shit you spit.
Instead of getting angry, give some details so we can help you
>I'm poor what do?
Is not enough
> I spend 340 usd, 85% of my salary, on plain rice with minced eat
i don't buy it shitskin. If you don't like your current job get a new job instead of crying about it on the internet
I can't tell if this poster is LARPing. What job only gets you 400 usd a month?
A lot of shit in third world countries. This seems low even for eastern europe tho, which, if you're an English speaker there you should be able to just go somewhere that pays more and leverage that skill. Same with a lot of thidie places that have western tourists but not shitholes like India or Africa so you're SOL there.
There is a lot more countries other than usa and europe my dude, like a lot of them and all of them very poor, think Argentina and its 290 usd min wage lmao, and the rest of south america is equally buggered, just check their mins wages and take into consideration there is no disability checks or welfare whatsoever in most of them, maybe food gibs in argaytina and Chile? No idea really but I do know there is no welfare like the one we have in yurop
Are you people seriously oblivious to the existence of countries other than the anglosphere and Western Europe? Jesus fucking Christ, have you never heard of the third world or currency conversion rates?
First step is to get a second job. You should be working 60 hours a week. Second step is to cut unnecessary expenses, such as renting an entire room for yourself. Get a roommate or two. Cook your meals communally; this saves a lot of money and will allow you to continue eating quality food. You want to bump your savings rate from 15% as high as you can get it.
>just pull yourself up by your bootstraps bro
Exactly, you little crybaby Eurofag. I have lived entire seasons spending 400-500 dollars a month while working in America. In fact, it wasn't until my 7th year of adult life that my monthly expenses began regularly exceeding 1000 USD/month. Eating nutritious food the whole time as well, so I wasn't tired all the time. I travelled America for six months in 2015/2016 and spent less than $3000. One road trip in 2020 covered 8700 miles of spectacular scenery in 54 days and only cost me $1700 USD. Of course, I had a minivan with a bed in the back, but there are ways to travel for dirt-cheap without a car anywhere in the world.
You can easily live on less than 340 USD a month in your country, I guarantee it. It'll be good prep for your budget travel life, which will involve strict financial discipline, an embrace of challenge, and the ability to adapt to whatever sleeping situation you end up in for the night.
You got to get a low skill job that lets you work abroad. Vacations are for middle class+
I had a job where I made $10 a hr. Saved enough to pre buy all lodging and airfare. Then have 1,600 spending money.
Gf at the time did the same. I live with my parent and never went out to eat. That saved a ton! We still never really go out, well we try not for 1 day a week.
It can be done. Pick up a side gig?
A side gig such as what, considering I work 6 days a week and get home extremely tired, have no savings to invest either
Fucking brainlet. You are not doxxing yourself by saying
>23yo
>Bulgarian
>retail experience
etc
Give us something to work with ffs
people already assuming romanian and bulgarian, lol
Bulgarains and romanian young people travel like crazy even the LIDl and BILLA cashiers.
Shut up homosexual mutt, none of that info is relevant anyways
> I'm poor guys pls halp
ok, give some basic info so we can give actual advice based on your situation.
> lel fuck off
shit thread needs to die, same shit mentality as that colombian vlogger asking for advice.
This. OP has a victim/loser mentality. Any advice is useless.
>just pull yourself by your bootstraps bro
You're right. You can't get out of it. You specifically
Gringo homosexual what do you know about life your whole state babysits you your entire life
What are you talking about bro? I completely agree with you. You're fucked.
You should tell any remaining anons here that are willing to help you that they should go fuck themselves and they don't know shit
Okay I yield tell me what should I do
>low iq brainlet sudaca
>bitches online about westoids
>whole country votes for anyone who offers gibs and eventually collapses economy
state babysits you your entire life
is europe getting worse? it seems like europe generally has better infrastructure, education, and transportation but shit wages, here in america it's generally shit but i make $141k annual + veterans gibs ($1600/mo) for basically doing nothing, and i get 30 days of vacation per year
Standard differs greatly from country to country even within the EU. I live just 100km from Austria but when I go there its like a whole other planet.
Euros (at least western europe, not talking about former Soviet states have a very flat wage structure. A German burger flipper makes more per hour than one in Alabama but computer engineers make like 4000 euros a month and that's considered a lot of money. The US is all about minmaxing your financial position.
I'm Swiss and even if our salaries are quite high, they all mostly fall in the same range.
An Aldi casheer will earn around 55k$ a year and a architect or engineer 100k$ and basically everyone else is in between.
Then you take taxes into account and the gap becomes even narrower.
I'm a bookseller who dropped school at 17 and have around 4200$ net a month once I deducted all the taxes (yearly taxes included) but my step sister has a master in economy and she's only at 5400$ net.
I'm still saving 25000$ a year and she's never had more than 10k to her name. The 20% higher salary is less important to lifestyle when it comes to afford traveling.
I'm Swiss and only save $25,000per year
Oh damn dude. Thanks fthis. This must be really relatable to OP who can only save $60 per month. Great post. No keys given
I can't tell if this anon are trolling or just genuine assbergers who can't into empathy
>My wage is 400 usd a month
Sorry that God didn't love you enough to let you be born in a first world country
Idk how you can live in eastern Europe and not be eternally depressed
get a new job anon i've saved 4k for tokyo and didnt work in months
now time to save more
>400 USD a month
How the fuck? Europoors I swear. And why is it your housing and shit is so expensive too, I thought I could geomaxx in Spain for $4000 a month but it’s not as cheap as I thought it would be.
If you really do make 400 a month, I feel for you. I'd tried to start a business if I were you. You could completely fail at a business and still make more than 400 a month. You're great an English. You should offer some private lessons.
Instead of getting all bent out of shape that you can't jet off to Thailand and fuck 3000 baht hookers every night, set realistic travel goals. If you want to travel cheap, you will first need to wipe that bad attitude off your face and put on an enthusiastic smile. Now that you are looking more likeable, you need to work on your people skills. Many people love hosting travelers; it is your job to find them and meet them. Some arrangements involve work in exchange for hosting, while others will host you out of the kindness of their hearts. If you are inveterately anti-social and hostile by default to others who think differently from you, don't even bother traveling.
go to s america
400 a month? Do you work part-time or something?
That's literally no money at all.
I've worked cashier jobs that paid more.
Man I feel bad for you, depending on where you live i might be down to book a flight for you and invite you some meals . You'll have to pay for your stay since I hate sharing my Airbnb
wait until you turn 18, it'll only be a few more years
