Bourbon street is fucking dope get a Grenade drink, also some unreal Cajun food. BOIL seafood house is my favourite spot, get the Cajun seafood mix has shrimp crawfish potato crab. UNREAL. Be careful though the city gets sketchy
When I was in New Orleans I met an old guy toothless guy with long grey hair and a croc skin hat who called himself Captain Tom. He took me out on his boat and showed me some alligators and we fed them marshmallows. Turns out gators fucking love marshmallows, you just chuck em out there and they come swimming out to get them.
He took me to his house too where his wife was keeping a wild racoon she had captured as a pet in this makeshift outdoor pen thing. Fed it Lucky Charms.
I am trans btw, so take that in account with your recommendations
Please don't shit up my thread. Go be Trans in someone else's thread
seriously, wtf
Check out Fritzels European Jazz Pub. It's the only bar worth going to on Bourbon

Ty
How much for the grenade drink?
Non-French Quarter:
See live music at Tipitinas.
Check out the live oak trees in City Park.
Ride the street car along St. Charles Avenue
In the French Quarter:
The patio at New Orleans Grapevine or Orleans is non-touristy. Great bar/restaurant
The patio at Pat O'Brians is touristy but fun.
The tiny bar in Pirate's Alley is very cool at night.
A great dive bar is the Black Penny on Rampart
The Grapevine is on Orleans (street) right behind St. Louis Cathedral.
You can also ride the ferry across the river to Algiers Point. There's two bars over there worth checking out: The Point and the Crown and Anchor
Preservation Hall is worthwhile to see classic jazz, very atmospheric
let me know what else you're into. Long time native here.
Fair warning- I'm old so I don't where the cool kids hang out nowadays.
Also when you're in town:
The best event listings is on the New Orleans Gambit website.
For music listings: Offbeat Magazine website
Not OP, but can anyone recommend some plantations worth visiting in the area? Just anything that conjures up the atmosphere of the antebellum south.
Nottoway Plantation is the best preserved and worth the drive just for the oak alley leading to the "big house". Take the river road to get there.
Destrehan Plantation is also pretty cool if you're looking for something closer to New Orleans.
Laura Plantation is also not too far from NO and has original slave buildings.
Oak Alley, obviously.
Best casinos in New Orleans.?
Places to stay the fuck away from from in n.o?
Just stay away from blacks and it's perfectly safe. That's what I did when I spent a week in New Orleans and had a great time
Don't walk on empty streets. Don't engage in chatter with scumbags. Do not use a streetside or bar ATM.
Remember they only come out after dark.
7th Ward and the 9th Ward
Also fuck off we're full of too many tourists
