Any recommendations for this part of France?
I rarely see anyone talking about this region and I can't tell if there's not much to see/do or if it's just unpopular. I'm starting in Montpellier and will make my way down to Costa Brava.
I'm into:
>hiking and nature
>experiencing local culture
>off-the-beaten track places

Some recommendations of the top of my head.
Thanks, friend. Are all of the best things around Montpellier or you just happened to be there? I was thinking of spending more time near the Spanish border, but if there's not much there I'll shift my focus to the Montpellier area.
My great grandfather used to live in the Hérault departement and i went on vacation there every year since i was 2 years old, i absolutley love that area but its also because i have an emotional conection with it (am not French though).
Curious if you've done any rock climbing, kayaking or snorkelling around that area.
I'm going to live in Montpellier this autumn. I'm also interested. I've passed thru this area while hitchhiking coming in east from Provence into Montpellier then up North thru Millau. Very beautiful area all around.
Le Lac d'Oô
Looks very nice there. Is it true that the locals are far more tolerable of poor French language skills there than in Paris?
Cap d'Adge for the nude beach.
How's the cooming in Occitania?
Very good. Plenty of university towns in the Midi that attract young bawds from all over Europe. Even on weekdays in the summer, you can hear groups of drunk girls walking home at 3am in Toulouse. They're slim and beautiful, and unlike American girls actually give a shit how they dress.
If you're ever in Toulouse, I can recommend Chez Tonton which is full of drunk college students every night in the summer. Weekend nights are lame there because it gets fricking packed and sweaty so if you're not with a group of guys don't even bother, it's not the kind of place you can show up to alone.
The square in front of it is Place Saint-Pierre, which is the heart of the city's nightlife. If Chez Tonton looks packed there are a couple other places within walking distance. The Garonne is beautiful to walk along on a summer night, very well-lit and populated area. Closer to the city square is the Hopscotch, which is a Scottish pub with great craft beer that's more suited to taking a girl on a date (though it's pricy). There's also London Town Pub close to the river, so you can take a girl walking along it after drinks and make out.
Only downside is their English is shit, so I hope your French is solid. Also, they are having George Floyd-style racial riots right now, and the city is full of blacks and Arabs. It's probably a shithole at this very moment, which is a shame because it's when the city is most beautiful. Fête de la Musique is celebrated all across France on the summer solstice, you just missed it.
Thank you, based effort poster. The region has been on my list for quite a while now. I'm only hesitating because I don't speak French at all.
Go to Albi and see the museum of Toulouse-Lautrec.
I was under the impression it's one of the more popular destinations with the Roman and medieval cultural heritage.
What is that
