Peru. Lima, even.

Seriously considering a trip to Lima next month, just need a change of scenery. Seems the right amount of safe + things to do. I would go to Cusco, but I'm trying to use my Delta miles, and it's 50k to Lima vs. like 80k for Cusco. Worth?

Incidentally, Changed my Tinder/Bumble location in advance to scout it out/get info from locals and the amount of engagement is insane. Is it the Phillipines of South America (no P4P, but down to hook up with Latinas)?

Well what do you want to do? If all you want to do is hook up with girls, its easier in Lima. If you're interested nature, culture, ruins, not being in a grey, polluted hellscape, Cusco is better. Lima is cheaper though. I've lived in both for a year each.

      Noted, thanks.

Oh and a round trip from Lima to Cusco is $100. If that's a factor for you then you shouldn't be traveling anywhere. And in Lima you'll spend that much or more on Ubers trying to get around because its a concrete ocean with 10M people.

But I expect you will have an easier time on Tinder in Lima because there are a lot of tourists in Cusco already. And most people would say the girls are hotter in Lima - more Spanish blood.

No, sounds like it would be smart to stay in Lima and do a short trip to Cusco, actually.

Oh yeah, Peru isn't Africa, but it sure as hell isn't the Philippines either.

JBW can give you a +2 modifier, but it needs more than just that (at least for something a bit more long term). And Peruvian women are Latinas, meaning they can find a way to manipulate you if you let them. I know a guy who lives in the middle of nowhere, USA, and managed to find a Peruvian wife so your mileage may vary greatly.

If you stay in the wealthier parts, and only head out to find Huariques, go to ruins, or maybe just order Venezuelans via Kinesiologas, I can see it being somewhat nice.

The food is the real reason you want to go to Lima. Many Chileans swear it is one of the best cuisines out there and I think there is a lot of good stuff here. Personally you should try Pardo's chicken and add a bit of Aji with your chicken and fries. Maybe try El Chinito Chicharron near the center of Lima. If Asian and Latin food is your thing, Peru is a good choice.

      I do love good food.

This anon seems to know a lot about Peru, but I've lived there for 4 years and have never met a Colombian or Caribbean. It's true that there are a lot of Venezuelans though.

I think the fear about getting robbed outside the wealthy areas is a bit overstated, unless they have a pretty low bar for what is a "wealthy area".

In big cities stay towards the center and out of the poor slum areas and you'll be just fine. I have a cheap spare phone I walk around with just for peace of mind so you can do that too.

And he's right that Peruvian women are pretty receptive to white english speaking foreigners. Most will be interested, but some are pretty conservative so require a big time investment, and scant few will speak English.

      >but some are pretty conservative so require a big time investment
I want short term relationships + sexo. I've met a couple of Peruvian women aboard and they seemed more "trad" in terms of jumping in bed. Will this be an issue?

        >Will this be an issue?

If you're aiming purely for Peruvian women? Sorta.

SEA may be a little more for that purely, but Peru is more of a place to relax rather than purely find girls. Maybe one girl will be willing to have a short relationship, but they are a bit more skeptical and may need a bit more time.

You can however, visit Chongos and Kinesiologas without any issue, and its better than the West or EE. I read someone on this site popped their cherries visiting one of those places, and thought it was pretty good. Its not SEA though, keep that in mind, be a little vigilant, and you'll probably be fine.

Most of the time yes, but so many will be interested in you that you can get around that. You just need to filter for the types of girls you want. I suggest a dance club or something like that. Ask them to teach you to dance, and find one that dances with you in the way that indicates she's the kind of girl you want.

Its possible, maybe if you stay in Miraflores, but I wouldn't go to Lima for women. The "Kinesiologas
are all Venezuelan women charging about 50 bucks a pop. The golden age of Iquitos is long gone too, so I wouldn't head up north or to the Amazons until the Dengue situation is back to normal.

Really though, there is a massive Venezuelan influx of migrants. The Caribbean mob bosses are loaning money, and killing people if they can't pay it back. About 3000 Peruvians or so have died since the sudden influx of Venezuelan immigrants, though the number of Venezuelans who have been killed or hurt by Peruvians is unknown.

I don't dislike Venezuelans, and Peruvian women aren't difficult to meet up with or 'game', but the truth is that you're likely to be robbed outside of the wealthier parts of Peru due to the Government letting in a lot of people (not even Venezuelans, but Caribbeans and Colombians who run Mafias).

You're not THAT likely. Sheesh, I wish people would stop overhyping this shit.
Just quit acting like a stupid tourist flashing what looks like expensive items like the latest smartphone or shiny watch around in a rundown neighborhood where someone's mama can barely feed their 6 to 8 kids on enough of the rice and beans they've got left.
And quit trying to scope for just any girl you see roaming about just because she looks good and you can't keep your dick in your pants. I take my time with these girls. The more you go hunting them so obviously the more they are going to know what's up and you're probably a fly by night PoS she may as well use for her own benefit.
I've been in SA for 9 years going on 10, how come I never get killed, robbed, or assaulted around here by ANYONE? Because I don't venture into poor areas carelessly and I don't place myself in a situ where I am a target to be robbed or assaulted in the first place.
In Lima I walked thru the Plaza de Armas with a backpack alone and had the moindset of orbiting around where most of the people would crowd about, so if anything happened someone would at least see it, but this never happened in all my time traveling here.

Not to be rude to you or the OP, but if you say "if x is the Philippines of Y" I'm assuming you're probably living in a safer environment. But what I said about 3000 Peruvians dying by Venezuelan immigrants is true, usually Peruvian thieves steal without you knowing, usually peacefully (unless they're communist) and may not even target tourists through an unspoken rule. Venezuelans have no unspoken rule, and are incredibly desperate unless they arrived here before the fall of the Venezuelan Bolivar.

I'm not sure if you're talking to me or the OP, but there have been videos of Venezuelans firing in the air in the San Martin de Porres district. They are a real threat in places like San Martin de Porres or Los Olivos. I've heard shit tons of stories about guys stealing a wallet while riding the micro, and that was before the Venezuelan migration. They literally mobilized the Peruvian Army to blockade Venezuelan migrants from entering by Chile.

        >And quit trying to scope for just any girl you see roaming about just because she looks good and you can't keep your dick in your pants.

Also, I was just saying Peruvian women aren't as open as in other places. I don't really hunt for Peruvian women since I'm not here for that stuff.

Long term means you know good areas from bad ones and have the ability to communicate in spanish which makes you a harder mark. You ask questions and expect answers, they cant fall back on poor English to trap you.

What the frick do any of these terms mean to a non seasoned coomer?

Kineselogists is a loan word? From the field of study. Massage therapists basically.

I know I'm getting old because my main motivation to go to Peru is not the cooming but the food. Seriously, it's very good.

If you can survive a big American downtown you can survive Lima. Don't be a stupid gringo and you'll be fine
