The adjacent buildings seem really cool. But is there anything else in the actual city? I will be in Florence for 6 days, is a morning trip to Pisa worth it or should I just stay in Florence?
Why do I hear so much about Lucca? Whats special about it? I would also like to minimize traveling, I'm considering going to Bologna one day instead since it is less than an hour away from Florence and seems neat
Lucca is what you think Pisa will be - walled medieval town that you can lose yourself exploring while stopping for an excellent meal at a trattoria. Even the city walls are based. Pisa is a subsiding tower and a mob of people taking lol look ma I’m pushing it over selfies
Bologna is also a great side trip. We’re just trying to save you wasting a day thinking pisa is worth a special visit
The tower were he died is a few blocks away from the leaning tower. His death was immortalized in the Divina Comedia as Dante said he ate his kids before starving himself
The town is small and nice. Lot of QTs as its a college town
I was surprised how crowded the park is but how easy is to climb the tower. We booked for the same day in the afternoon. What are all those crowds doing if only a small percentage is climbing up?
A couple of the buildings right next to it are neat. There’s some hi tech science shit in the vicinity (Virgo interferometer). The airport. That’s it.
Pisa is worth a half hour visit if you’re passing by

Pisa? No anon has told you the entirety of the sights.
If you tire of Florence you can go to Lucca for the day and spend the hour it takes to detour to Pisa on the way.
