Scandinavia travel

Hey frens, i'm planning to go to one of these three countries, i've already went to Finland (nice trip btw) for workaway and i'm planning to do the same thing again in an other country.

my three main choices are Sweden, Denmark and Norway

I'm more interested by the countryside and the people than the cities, so if you have a personal experience, pros and cons and advices let me know !

my preference tends towards Denmark

Norway has the best nature, and possibly in all of Europe, it’s not even close.

I'm 99% sure that I was conceived in Norway on my parents honeymoon. Think I could get away with colouring it in on my Real Traveler's map™?

Yes ! Finland has astonishing and breathtaking places, i've worked in a place 1 hour from Tampere, Woodwork+sauna, beers and a dip to the lake at the end of the day, mwha !

but if Norway is close to that i'm more interested !

going on a longer norway trip in two months, thinking if i should take an escort in oslo
i know its technically illegal there, but surely getting an escort for an hour or two would be feasible

Norwegian here, how great that you are considering going to Norway 🙂 Our nature is the best in Scandinavia, but our cities (except debatably Bergen and Tromsø in the winter) are not worth visiting. The train ride between Oslo and Bergen is amazing and Bergen gives you easy access to the fjords (hence why it’s worth visiting). You can basically set up a tent anywhere you want except in people’s gardens. If you want a good city go to Denmark. And if you like flat nature, also go to Denmark. If you like mountains go to Norway. Frick Sweden. Have a lovely trip no matter where you go, Anon 🙂

Doesn't it rain though like 300 days a year in Bergen?

Not during summer, and if you embrace the rain, the city becomes very cozy and aestetically pleasing. Pic is Nøstet, my favorite place in Bergen 🙂

Isn’t Bergen the city where Varg Vikernes finally killed Øystein Aarseth?

If you go to Sweden don’t go to stockholm. Go north. It’s going to cost you one extra day in travel but it’s worth it. I’d recommend the ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi if your rich
