>long-term living

Should I go to
>thailand
or
>vietnam

I want cheap rent, cheap food, safety, and no BS with border runs. I'll do them but I'm not moronic so I don't want to risk being barred entry. Other countries are fine I simply desire CHEAP

Thailand or Malaysia if you're fine with the muslim shit. Vietnam isn't developed enough if you need western comfort levels.

      >visa runs
You'll be doing it regardless. Both don't really let you stay long term. Vietnam will only let you stay 3 months and they don't really let you immediately renew right after. For Thailand it depends on your passport. Most Westerners can only stay one month but renew for a second.

      Thailand

      Thailand
      >price
Both are cheap but Vietnam is a little cheaper. Anywhere outside of Bangkok is quite cheap for Thailand though.
      >safety
Both but maybe Thailand because Vietnamese traffic is legit dangerous

However I would recommend Mexico. Right next to America, cheap as frick, very nice, good food, etc.

      >Mexico. Right next to America
I don't consider this a positive, it also kills the

OP should just give up the game and admit he wants his pecker played with and that’s why his choices are conveniently where JBW is the strongest and uhhh “ladies of the evening” are widely accessible

Mexico is cheap as frick and you can live like a local. My brother went there for 6 months. Lived on like 600 dollars a month. He didn't speak any Spanish. You're just moronic. If you think Mexican Spanish is bad go to Thailand. Literally filled with some of the most brain dead people who can't even answer a simple yes or no question in English.

I quite like Mexico but $600/mo would be tough--doable, but tough--in the parts I've spent time in. Prices have gone up quite a bit in the last few years. I'm sure it's easier out in the countryside and probably farther south as well.

I'm American and I disagree. I live in Hanoi turning Vietnamese children into ESL morons and don't miss anything. I never want to go back.

I don't even like the expat bubbles. Just find an apartment anywhere that has decent furniture and isn't moldy and it's comfy here.

thats how much it costs to live comfortably in Bangkok. you must be a poorgay who plans on living in a roach infested 1 star

Lol. You've never been there and it shows. I'm in Philippines, stayed in some of the most exclusive areas of Manila. Currently in a different city. 1st world accommodation for a fraction of the price is very common in big cities (cebu manila primarily) in Philippines. Thailand is no different. Less than 800 dollars I'm in an apartment nicer than my "luxury" apartment I lived in back in the USA for 2500 a month.

From the perspective of someone who has lived cheaply in SEA for many years western amenities and comforts are precisely the kinds of things you give up to make it work. You don't necessarily need to live in a total dump or miserable conditions but if you want cheap you embrace the 3rd world for what it is. If you want luxury you pay luxury prices.

Vietnam is cheaper but either way you’ll have to do visa runs in both countries, unless you get a work permit which is good every two years
