The 2030s

Alright, so the 2030s are going to be HOT and the people are going to be SHITTY, the tens of millions of people on the west coast are going to exodus into the central rockies in order to avoid the death heat, have better social contracts between people, but also not freeze to death like they would in Montana.

So which city gets 20 million more west coast evil people? SLC or Denver? Do they both split the west coast evil people?

Basically the entire west coast probably will just be absolute torture to live in by 2030, it'll be 10 degrees hotter and the people will be meaner by the day for other reasons

millions and millions will exodus to the central rockies major cities

Not an average, I dont even believe in global warming, but in terms of extreme swings. California has lots of "heat dome" cities, where shit just goes bananas hot. This will always be 10 times worse than any broader climate patterns.

Increased CO2 levels in the upper atmosphere strengthens heat domes, which trap more CO2 and turns cities into a literal greenhouse, with low temps barely touching 80 F, if that. Heck, I spent a night near Denver last summer where the temp at dawn was 77 F, under clear skies at 5000 feet! That is the result of having a blanket of carbon dioxide in the sky.

Look you Dunning Kruger midwit, "heat domes" are a continent-scale temporary phenomenon caused by ocean currents trapping heat and has little to anything to do with local CO2 concentration, which is a meme anyways. You're thinking of urban heat islands which are literally caused by paving everything over with concrete and asphalt.

Anthropomorphic climate change will not be a significant contributor to earth's climate for several generations at least. That said, there will be massive migration out of the west coast cities as they are flooded with 3rd worlders as resentful billionaires try to reshape society to be as sad and depressing as their own lives.

"Heat dome" is a colloquial term for an area of high pressure aloft, which prevents hot air from rising and dissipating into the upper atmosphere, especially at night. The "heat dome" effect is amplified by increased CO2 concentrations, and is also amplified by the urban heat island effect. "Heat domes" can set up anywhere; oceanic currents are irrelevant.
              >massive migration from the west coast
Anglo Americans are not fleeing any region en masse, and there is no reason to believe that they will do so any time soon. Rather, it is "Third World" Hispanics who are flooding into every region of what used to be Anglo North America. This includes both domestic migration from heavily Hispanic areas, and international migration.
Higher CO2 levels are already impacting the world's climate in clearly definable ways. We are all going to have to adapt, man and nature alike.

The east coast, of course, is broadly unacceptable to west coasters for cultural reasons as well the weather would cause a mental health epidemic amongst californians, the south is a place that they laugh at now, they'll laugh then too, they will never even consider these areas, the great lakes region may get quite a lot of transplants, the midwest will get as many as the northern rockies will get, the southern rockies doesnt alleviate west coast problems such as bad people and heat, so it leaves the major cities of the central rockies to soak up I would wager 70% of all west coast refugees

Why would the dry heat of the West Coast be any more torturous than the humid heat of the Midwest and East? As long as morons don't start forest fires and burn the whole place down, the Pacific Northwest is just as awesome at 93 F as it was at 83 F. There will still be plenty of shady forests, cold rushing rivers, and the 57 degree Pacific coast is an easy drive away.
      >central rockies major cities as heat refuge
You must be kidding. Salt Lake City, Denver, Albuquerque, Boise, etc. All of these cities regularly experience 95+ degree temps all summer long. The interior climate is much drier and harsher than the PNW outside of the summer months, and the drought/wildfire risk is even worse in the Intermountain West.

      >people will be fleeing the heat
This narrative does not reflect reality whatsoever. Maricopa County, Arizona is the hottest major city in America, with temps exceeding 100 F from April to October. It is also the fastest growing metro area in the nation. Fatass Americans love sitting indoors in the A/C all day. Texas has also seen extreme heat and humidity from April to October in recent years, but that hasn't stopped people from flooding into the state like it was frickin' paradise.

I moved to Denver from Washington DC a year ago and it’s only too hot from July to about early October.

I like it here. It’s not crowded and if you don’t live downtown you don’t see any of the liberal externalities. It’s manageable. There’s also shitloads of jobs. I’ve been fired and laid off in the past year from two different jobs and I was able to get another one within a few weeks. Public transport is also solid. You don’t need a car.

I may stay here for the long term

i'm also planning to relocate to Scotland before then. at that point they are going to have the world's best weather and shittiest neighbours. you cannot have everything

SLC is hot AF now but it seems like nobody has a memory of last year when we hit triple digits for weeks. All of the sudden it's an "excessive heat warning". It's almost like ~~*they*~~ are trying to scare people.

I wouldn't be surprised if Detroit starts becoming good again once this migration starts. Good location, metropolis-sized already, and cheap. And it was always safe as long as you were rich

Everyone in Detroit is a dick. They scream and yell and curse at everyone for no reason. They enjoy being dicks. They do nothing but be dicks to each other. There is no cultural depth there, just people brooding in their own ilk and drinking faygo for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

To make it even more clear why you are fricking stupid. Drug/black market economies thrive in ALL conditions, meanwhile lawful economics comes and goes quite easily. It is YOU who will be relocating. There will be nothing left of California. It will be exclusively a zone for criminality. All lawful industries will leave.

As for California, once it's brazil tier criminality there will literally be military involved. Just like in brazil when favelas get too spicy.

Oh yeah it's dope. Never been though. Oregon is nice I've been there. Arizona is nice I've been there. I suppose Cali is a mixture of the two. I'd love to visit. I'd even like to live there, great variety of nature which is my thing.

But I am preeeetty sure it's got to collapse before it can be reborn. It will be ugly and take a long time. I have only so long to live.

I don't think you've ever been to the west coast. It's significantly nicer here in the summer than on the east coast. I lived in Maryland for 20 years before moving out to socal. It's fricking glorious here all summer. 80 and sunny. Maryland was 95+ and humid for most of the summer. That's why I left.
