The new google earth mobile update sucks. I don’t give a shit about projects, or making custom anything. They got rid of the latitude and longitude coordinates on the bottom too, and it takes twice the button clicks to use the measure tool. All I want from it is a virtual way to travel around and muse about geology/geography, and now I gotta deal with this goddamn black slide bar on the bottom taking up valuable screen space. Anyone have an alternative?

get a dedicated app for hiking and backcountry
get a street map map like OsmAnd for cities. no data required, download the necessary country map or secondary-level maps prior to departing. Be aware that the free version gives you a limited number of maps, so you have to reinstall it when you maxx out.
