... and several other countries. Got business tickets from CDMX to Chicago O'Hare for $250, one-way, and a QSuite from Lahore to Chicago O'Hare for less than $900 (after applying a ~$900 travel credit). Also did business from JFK to Delhi for $1500.
Pandemic was unironically fantastic for people with remote jobs who were willing to travel.
Went to Iceland in summer 2020, hotels were ridiculously cheap, by Icelandic standards.
Stayed in 4 stars hotels for “only” 100-130 bucks per night, which is bonkers for Icelandic standards.
I went to several other European countries as well, it was very nice but Iceland was the best because it was truly empty.
Rona was kino and actually good for our society in the long term. For one, the rise of remote work. A second wave (hopefully deadlier to boomers) would be even better.
