They changed the criteria for a mass shooting. It’s shooting at any more than 4 people. Now black people cause 90% of “mass shootings” and now they refuse to talk about it.

There are only a small handful of ghettos in America that are truly dangerous for white people. And everyone drives in American cities, so the danger is quite limited. Random carjackings do occur, so make sure you don't get stuck at a red light, but it's not like gangs have roadblocks in South Chicago that stop every car and rob those who don't belong to the 'hood.

I guess i'll go to yellow this year, which is fine.

Little bit exaggerated to put Ipiales, Tumaco and Popayan as red-tier...unless the new Colombian president has pulled back the military and let the criminal gangs take over the entire regions, set roadblocks on the highways, etc. Of course, wandering into the jungle backcountry along the Pacific Coast is at your peril, but I didn't pick up on any innate hatred of gringos in those areas. However, Ecuador should be orange or red with the conflict popping off there between government and narcos.
Not sure if the southernmost provinces of Thailand are really that much of a no-go zone for tourists...

They've covered far too much of it in orange. The border areas are definitely more likely to cause problems but within each orange area there's plenty of safe places for a tourist. You wouldn't want to be aimlessly wandering through Buenaventura but the Pacific Coast has a number of completely safe villages that are worth visiting. Los llanos and Amazon aren't really places where you're just going to stumble into problems. The south doesn't have the best highlights in the country but you could still easily make a nice overland trip through it just fine.

Mostly because we wanted to do the 'worlds longest train journey' but had to go around Russia and can't go through Iran as leafs to do it 100% by rail, so we have to take the Caspian ships.

It was just by luck that we avoided everything shitty. Even the red at the north of Malaysia we avoid because the train runs on the other side of the peninsula in that area.

They won't bother tourists. They aren't like those Bali terrorists. The insurgents are Malays who wanted to reclaim their land from Thais. They don't give a frick about tourism. In fact, maybe they are welcoming it. More tourists means less army means they can move more easily. They will shoot gays and troons through so be careful not to carry rainbow flags.

nobody wants to be a tourist in a place where you can be a victim of a drive by shooting just for buying pork noodles
malays are parasites. thailand should just bomb the whole area back to the stone age but it would be a shame to destroy all the trees

Simpler, cheaper, more profitable. But of course they won't. Thais are known to be arrogant and prideful as frick. They would rather kill themselves than talking shit about their corrupt king

    >Mexico yellow and red
I've only done some cursory research but the impression I get is that at least in Mexico City if you avoid the bad neighborhoods and don't walk around aimlessly at night you can be about as safe as you'd be in most European cities. Is this accurate? I'm interested in going there next winter and I'm hoping that if I can take the right precautions and not be an easy mark for criminals I can be basically safe. Curious about Mexico City and the country in general, Oaxaca is the only other city I'm sure I want to see but any insight about other regions would be appreciated.

Your impressions about Mexico City are correct and Oaxaca is very safe, you won't have problems there short of bad luck with petty crime.

As for the map, it't not that off base. As a tourist you wouldn't really find yourself in almost any place that's marked red except for some of the coast but that's a lot safer than the inland regions. Is there anywhere else in particular you want to know about? Haven't been everywhere but I think I've covered about 1/3 of all the depts in the country.

Curious what makes Australia on the same level as America instead of dark green like Canada. Are you people really that scared of spiders?
Same goes for Japan, how is that not dark green?
