I live in Sweden and am planning on taking a solo trip to Russia for a week how do I go about doing this? I am natively from Serbia so I have a serbian passport and understand I should be able to enter without a visa but have no clue on how to get myself there since there are no planes.

you'd have to get in from a country that hasn't severed ties with russia
the most sensible option for you would probably be via istanbul
Thanks for the reply! I´m a student and considered the option but it seems to expensive.
What about taking a bus from a nearby country? In example Gdansk to Kaliningrad or Riga to Moscow?
Some sites claim there are no options, others do, but I have no clue if they are legit:

EU land borders with Russia are closed for almost everyone right now.
Is it possible to go through Belarus?
Where did you read that?
I only see that some countries will not allow Russians with existing Schengen visas to pass via the land borders.
I dont think this is true. On TripAdvisor there are people reporting goig through Narva border crossing.

My bad. The land borders did open a month ago. They were closed to most tourists for two years or so due to the covid meme.
Go to Tallinn and take a bus from there to St. Petersburg.
If you want to fly you'll likely end up flying via Turkey.
Just make sure to book a return ticket, sometimes they sell out these days.
Thanks that seems like the best option for now! 🙂
Wait till the war is over, so you can go to Ukraine and claim you did go to Russia.
I wonder how much of Ukraine will be left once the war finishes. 1/2?
All of it will be left and Russia will face a civil war.

How do you plan with money? Do you just bring loads of swedish korun to exchange?
You can bring EUR and USD and get them exchanged into rubles pretty much anywhere.
Running out of cash could cause some troubles unless you have Russian friends with bank accounts abroad who can do an informal cash advance for you.
Isn't that only true if you have a bank account in a "western" country?
Difficult to say as Visa and Mastercard suspended their operations in Russia.
If your bank offers a Mir card then you won't have problems for sure.
Right now a lot of money transfers between western countries and Russia are done on an "informal" level, a bit like those African remittance networks.
If the situation continues like this I'm pretty sure they'll introduce some pre-paid cards for tourists just like in Iran.
I think one can take the bus from Estonia trough Narva border or fly with Air Serbia or via Istanbul.
Does Russia still require PCR Test? I struggle to find reliable information on this.
Just out of curiosity, why would tou want to go to Russia right now? It’s a shithole with the most toxic people at the best of times… now it’s 10 times worse.
I want to go to Russia to relive the high level of freedoms and high quality of people America had when I was growing up in the 60s 70s and 80s. I travel around and see lots of Russians and they remind me of Americans from my youth
HAHAHHAHAHA LOL
russians do not have freedom. neither do americans. russians rightfully live in fear of putin and his dictatorship. americans rightfully live in fear of mass shootings.
Americans aren't cool anymore. We no longer have the "don't give a frick what you think" attitude that made us cool. Our youth are now neurotic and obsessed with in-group validation like the Asians were. I hate it.
Zlatan?
If you' get the time, be sure to collect plenty of Russian cummies to take home and sell to your fellow S*rbs
If you are in Sweden then just take a ferry/flight to Finland and bus (Ecolines, Luxexpress, etc.) to St. Petersburg.
you cant give Putler money!
