With current visual technologies available, it's worth the trouble if the sounds or smells are worth it. So: waterfalls, caves, beach shores without any people, also assorted local food places, tiny folk music concerts etc
the exchange rate to yen is very favourable now, the best in years. hotels, food, attractions are all half the price or better compared to the popular destinations of europe. only the flights became more expensive because the monkeyZ between europe and asia can't behave, but you could always just suck it up and take a chinese airline if the price of the flight matters that much to you
>it has gotten horrifically expensive going there.
?
It's cheaper than ever. Or do you mean hotels? Those become expensive depending on area and season.
Yeah I mean the yen is weak and thus the problem doesn't really lie inside Japan. But when I went there in 2018 the flight was cheap, this time it was almost three times.
But then again my view on what is expensive or cheap for traveling is warped since I rarely do travel.
Im going to Tokyo this May and a direct flight from Chicago cost me $1500. 8900 SEK is not bad at all.

Right. It's pretty cheap I think. I've been to Japan and back a few times and I don't think I ever paid less than that.

Have you tried using VPN when booking/purchasing flight?
It's how they market VPN's, always been sceptical

I did try it, there was a connecting flight option to Tokyo through Turkish Airlines with a layover in Istanbul, I set my VPN to Turkey and switched my currency to Turkish Lira and it was still the same price. Not sure if I didn't do it right or if the VPN trick is a meme. I just paid the full American price on a United direct flight anyways.

The way I understood is, if you clear cookies and history the price hike-up will drop back to original pricelisting. I'm not sure changing IP has anything to do with it, but never tried it

gay social media trends and non-existing travel bans for specific nationalities (including germany) have ruined everything. I kind of dislike other german tourists, brits, chinks and russians the most. They can't behave for shit and make things worse for everyone. Having global chains replacing traditional shops doesn't help and neither does watering down traditions to a point where you feel like everyplace is turned into Disney Land.

I kinda agree with you. But even local shops and chains are focused on the tourists, it breaks my heart, looking on all of that fake shit in order to get more profit from foreigners.
My neighbor went to Italy and visited La Scala. yet he knows nothing about opera and neither do I. I am supposed to be jealous but I am not. I would be jelly if he did two chicks at the same time. But La Scala? Meh.
my parents were ways big on travel and getting away, took us kids on many trips. but when i reached adulthood and started travelling on my own i found it a little uncomfortable going to places that arent like home, then i realized whats the point to going to these tropical island getaways when i have all that hear in aus. but i would less likely go to a place so completely different in climate.
I am not sure the pictures are relevant but in general I agree that traveling is overrated. All places rook same and not worth the trouble.
>All places rook same
this
some places have more money but that's it, people do basically the same shit everywhere
Look at this shit, man. I just want to lay in the sun.

True. I'd also include sexy times in the list.
That would be definitely worth traveling if there are better options than those available locally.
>HURRY UP OVER THERE
monkaS
t. fear of heights

Someone should sue that fjord. What if some moron pushes you or if you slip? Fricking hell.
Frick salty poorgays. My trip to Japan last month was the best thing that has happened to me, for at least five years. To travel is to live
did you have sex
I imagined myself having sex. Does that count?

i would've at least banged a hooker to get it out of my system
Hookers in japan are all zainichis.
Nerd weeb

I was in Japan 5 months ago and it was great. Too bad it has gotten horrifically expensive going there.

You must've chosen busy travel dates.
These are return included prices btw.

I can't imagine how people live in tourist areas, it's must be hell.
which is why escaped Aruba, the "One Happy Island"
traveling is a woman product
women are 80% of consumer spending
If you think about it most things are made for women. Products, ads, TV shows, nightlife etc. Almost all of it is designed for women in mind
that's not true at all. I had a very good time in india.
just because it may be dirty doesn't mean that travel isn't exciting
India is fun as long as you dont go out of ur hotel
I can only imagine how much better it was before the 18th century.

Traveling to many different places is overrated but traveling to the same place over and over regularly or even semi-regularly is underrated.
