Vietnam

Going there for 3 weeks in March next year. What should I do? I plan to fly into Ho Chi Mihn City, rent a dual sport motorcycle, and ride my way up to Hanoi, do the Ha Giang Loop, then fly out from Hanoi. I'm not against cooming in Vietname poosi, but I'm not going to seek it out either. I'm mostly interested in exploring a relatively cheap country.

I’ve done Hanoi to HCMC and it’s a long-ass ride. Just the Ha Giang loop itself, along with Hanoi, should be a good week in itself to really get the most out of it. Might want to take it easy on an island and/or somewhere in the central highlands before doing the loop.

Vietnam is a wonderful destination. I love going there and have been many times.
Sometimes I dress like in super poor and stand on the streets asking for donations to get home. I actually do get money. If I do it long enough it pays for my hotel stay. It's like a free vacation! I highly recommend this for long term travel if you don't have a remote job.

Try to go to Khe Bang national park and ride through there. Insane jungle in the neck of the dragon. Go to Ninh Binh. Khe Sanh road to Laos is a pretty interesting ride. See the weird temples in between it all. Spend some time with the monk children at said temples in the middle of nowhere. You’ll regret leaving so soon. If you find a nice girl that things feel right with try to spend more time with her and be as present as you can be as it’s all over before you know it.

Ride more cautiously than you think is necessary through the small towns. God forbid you crash into a seventeen year old girl on her motorbike and have to spend six hours at the local police station figuring out if you’re going to a viet jail or if there’s an amount of bribe you and the family can agree on. Watch out for that big spider above the toilet in the police station rest room.

I'm a tourist but dress smartly when travelling in SEA. Its amazing how easy it is to stand out by making a modicum of effort unlike the other 99% in Chang singlets. Asian women and Asians in general definitely respond better and with more respect if you dress well. It requires just a little effort but spending $150 at Uniqlo seems to be beyond the comprehension of the average travelbro or aspie coomer.

Spending 150 on clothes is going a bit too far and possibly even trying too hard in the eyes of Viet girls. You just need some basic comfortable business casual clothes that you can probably pay 50 bucks in total and look the same.

You should get the frick out of Saigon the moment you arrive. Stay a day if you're into to their history as it pertains to the Vietnam war but that city sucks. Then go to Dalat which is nice, good party hostels, and then go to the top beach place Nha Trang (This all makes sense via bus they're close) and that's all you need to do in the South. But then fly from Nha Trang to Da Nang and use that as a base to go to the main party destination Hoi An or Hue (I've never been to Hue though). I don't go North because I'm just not interested in the culture or motorbiking whatever. I go to Vietnam because it's cheap and there's hot young western girls running around who are totally DTF.

    It's over for white sexpats.

Vietnam is getting harder to stay on a tourist visa.

They're starting to deny visa renewals for expats doing infinite border runs. If you renew 3 or 4 visa 3-month renewal back to back, they'll start denying you.

You used to stay on the business visa scam, 1 year visa but they cracked down on that.

The new visa application page has too many questions. They gov doesn't want degen sexpats (english teachers) inside the country.

      Anonymous

They ask many questions on the new visa page, such as "how many times have you been in Vietnam in the past 01 year" (to prevent chronic border runs),
"Intended expenses (in USD)" (keep poor begpackers out)

The golden age of sexpat teachers is over.

In addition they charge $25 - $50 for the visa. Bruh

Just get a proper work visa. You only have to renew it every two years and your employer pays for it

But it's getting more difficult for the work visa. You used to go to Vietnam and teach on a 3-month tourist visa and go for border runs

    >now you get 90 day evisa for $25 without doing extensions

Depending on which passport you're holding. You can get 45 day visa on arrival for Thailand without filling a single form or paying $$$.

If you apply for visas back to back (like 4 times in a row while doing border runs) they'll deny the application.

    >it's easier than ever, now you get 90 day evisa for $25 without doing extensions, visa approval letters or other crap

The golden run is over. Pre-COVID, you had smelly boer South Africans teaching english in Vietnam, doing infinite border runs. POST-COVID they have cracked down on english teachers. The TRC is hard to get.

It was piss easy to stay in Vietnam indefinitely on a tourist visa. Nowadays? Hard.

    >wtf this is supposed to mean?

Back in the day, you can keep applying for visas back-to-back when your 90 day is up, thus you can stay in Vietnam for years doing border runs. If you try this nowadays they'll start denying your visa application and put you on the black list. The government is tired of begpackers and sexpats. The blame the boers for this.

Anyone else ever bring their Viet girl on vacation to the US? Mine is coming with me for Christmas next month. Hasn’t been out of the country before, or really out of the central highlands for that matter, so I’m wondering how she’ll adjust visiting the states.

      Anonymous

Us whiteoids can live off another cultures food quite easily but Asians can't, she'll get homesick really quickly without asian food. My experiences were
      >Have fresh rice everyday in a rice cooker
      >Buy a big styrofoam box and insist that she has to fill it with asian food she wants like noodles, Chinese sausages, etc
      >Don't assume that the stuff in the west is the same as east, shit like fish sauce and onions sauce for example tastes completely different so make sure you put that in your box
      >She'll probably spend at least a few hours a day talking to her family back home, this is normal.
      >Try not to have too many stay at home days and always organize shit to do, even if she ends up hating half the things you chose.

I've done this several times (not with a girl from the highlands) but if you have any questions. That's all that I can think of off the top of my head.

    1. Girl who tried to sell me a $100 a month phone plan, she said it was the “cheapest”

    3. Taxi driver told me he didn’t have change. The trip costed 60k, I only had a 100k bill
    4. Taxi driver overcharged me on grab taxi, 54k trip turned into a 70k trip, I only found out when I checked my grab history

Are you in a very touristy spot or what?
I'm white and don't speak a word of viet and didn't have anyone try to scam in a month I'm there.
Literally had taxi drivers in the middle of the night being ultra fair and surprised I tipped well, had a prostitute telling me I actually gave enough when I thought it wasn't and looking for more money to give.

Places like Italy were rough especially when you're stuck somewhere, and I don't even want to talk about Morocco which was a nightmare 24/7.

Guys idk who to turn to I need help.

Okay I went out on a date with a girl in Vietnam. Really Nice date spoke good English, insisted on splitting the bill when we finished out meal, when I wanted to pay she snuck out and paid the entire thing, and I am getting strong vibes she's not a gold digger.

Very sporty, martial arts champion, plays music.

Here's the thing she's 19 and below 160cm, I feel so uncomfortable, I mean she literally ticks so many boxes, but at the same time she is so much younger and looks young too, and doesnt have disposable income while I do while insisting to Split bills.

So 1. I get anxious because she looks so young. 2. She gets paid so much less yet doesnt want to spend my money so my options of what I can do and where I can take her is extremely limited.

Ohh and although she is legally an adult she just looks SO MUCH YOUNGER than me.

    Literally perfect.

I am 27. Forgot to mention. With a full beard so from a Vietnamese perspective I look 30. I look older than I am and she looks younger than she is. 8 years difference, but someone might assume 10+.

I know this board is not meant for this exactly, but since I posted here a lot before going it came to mind.

How negatively would this be seen by Vietnamese, if I were to continue going out and work through those issues I mentioned, should I just cut it off

        That's not a big age difference dude, when you're 35 she'll be 27.

Younger woman relationships are also much more socially acceptable outside of the west where women usually earn less than men do and women are expected to find a man who takes care of them/their family.

This is only the 2nd girl I have talked to in my life that will let me ramble about random stuff and listen with intent and actually back me up or counter me while staying engaged in the conversation.

Never rude. She is extremely polite about it But she respectfully tells me she disagrees and tells me why she thinks I am wrong, but at the same time she ends up agreeing 90% of the time anyway.

I dont know it just hurts, I am 27 and this is the first time Ive had a crush. I should have experienced when I was a teen. Thats what worries me, it doesnt feel normal. I should go on a date with a girl who is more jaded, because I honestly dont think I deserve someone so young and optimistic.

Dude you talk like you are a 67 year old white-haired grandpa robbing the cradle. Just chill, 18 and 27 is perfectly natural and traditional. If you are a good person and treat older members of her family with respect, I'm sure they will accept you. Of course guys in the street will be cracking jokes about your appearance, or what may or may not be going on in your bedroom. It's all harmless fun, not hostility or hatred. Go out drinking sometime, make a few friends, let it be known that you are a cool guy who is going to be sticking around, so everyone might as well be your friend.

You really need to cut off the self-sabotaging thought patterns ASAP. The toxicity is what will seep out and damage your relationship.

    Its not

    1.

Do I tell you all the small little clues.

    1. She showed up with very little make up.

    2. I wanted to meet up in district 1 in the party street, but she got lost on the way because she had never been there, so I had to pay a grab guy to help me pick her up because she couldnt find the place. I was at.

    3. She asked me if we could leave because it was too noisy, and she brought me to a very quiet Korean BBQ place in a quiet part of the city. She said her family used to go eat there when she was younger.

    4. I walked her home, she showed me where she practices martial arts, where she went to high school.

    5. She is begging me to find a different place outside of District1 somewhere safe because she says its full of gangsters there.

    6. I asked her if she would prefer to have a date where we go out and eat at a restaurant, and I pay for it or alternatively I offered her, that I will move my booking but only if she comes on a cooking date with me and I find an apartment with a working stove so she can teach me too cook, and she agreed to the former.

Idk man I read people pretty well, I will dip any second any red flag for gold digger gets triggered.

Ohh and the girl is a machine she ate more meat at the korean BBQ (the one she paid for in the end). She said its bulking season and she needs to get stronger and bigger to beat up girls with 60kgs. Which is just about the cutest thing I've seen a 48kg girl say.

I am being genuine here, there is almost 0 shot she is a Fraud, but she looks so young and I know she is of age and her birthday, but when I started even thinking about this trip, she was technically still a minor... and that scares me.

I dont want to hurt this girl, I will take it slow with her, and I wouldnt even think of sleeping with her on this trip, but I want to come back in April anyway.

So idk I just feel so reassured about her, except the age and the looks.

Guys she is so pretty, but she looks younger than she is.

I will not lie emotionally she might be 20 or 21. Physically she might be 18-19 wont go into specifics to protect her anonimity, but she could definitely pass for 16-17.

But yes I am very concerned what Ricels think, because they might lash out. And I literally told her this today, that I think the age thing scares me a bit, but I still like her, and I would just like to move slow and figure it out.

I am also insecure that people might think thats what this is, theres no language barrier. I am not a native English speaker, she isnt as fluent as I am, but actually not that far from how my English skills were at her age.

And she really genuinely tried to learn a few phrases in my native on our first date, I am having fun, but then I looka at her and realize ppl might think shes younger than she is, she is VERY pretty, but not Hot because she is so young looking, but I feel like she will age into that, but even saying that makes me feel bad.

The thoughts that go through my head are; I cant show photos of her to my family and talk about her because when they see a photo they might assume she is 16, so I would need to date her in secret for 2 years before even showing a photo of her to anyone so she gets older looking

Why do you care what they think? Also she won't get older looking. Asians look 16 until they turn 50 and then they turn into grey haired grandmas overnight.

She will, I know asians stay young looking but not like this. She will definitely look at least passibly older to at least pass the "is she a minor test" in a year or two. She smiles a lot and has huge dimples, those are going to turn into smiling lines for example

Hoi An should be a day trip to get custom fitted clothing and nothing more. It’s a factory tourist frickpit of influencers and europoors.

Hue City is comfy and the imperial city is beautiful but also just like everything else in Vietnam it’s frustrating how ratchet it is, everyone plays the worlds smallest violin for “muh poor” but it doesn’t take a penny to do basic landscaping and housekeeping. Oh well it’s literally Mexico in Asia so whatever

Da Nang is mid as frick unless you know some locals, I had a blast but only because I was hanging with really cool locals at super secret “cool kids only” places

Thailand is different, you can make an honest living doing that sort of thing because the tourists are there and it's easy to own and run a business. The only way to make money in VN would be more or less scamming people while paying bribes left right and centre to keep it in operation.

Just do it. The motorbike is the way to go. It's easy to find other people doing a similar thing at the chiller non party hostels as well to make little day trips. It's way safer getting through traffic than you'd imagine too.

Currently in Hoi An after 2 months of shitholes and places with basically only Korean tourists.
Forgot white women were so fat lmao. I can enjoy a good ass but it's still weird.
I made some research and just learnt vietnamese are the least overweight in the world or very close.

I went to some hooker last week and she was scared of my dick. Not like "you so big I love you give me tip" but couldn't look away and her face getting more and more concerned as I got hard in her hands.
She took it easily anyway because that's how vegana are made, but then I asked if she didn't get white guys but said only locals and koreans.

I'm from a very rich european country and I feel the same. It's like I actually feel alive when in shit holes and not getting more and more lazy and clinging to comfort and habits like at home.

          >I made some research and just learnt vietnamese are the least overweight in the world or very close.
vietnamese women are fat when you measure WHR, they don't have ass and their breasts are small therefore BMI is very misleading

            Anonymous

            >vietnamese women are fat when you measure WHR

No they're not. They barely have meat on. Vietnamese dish portion is very small. They have heavy fat shaming culture and they society is based on image. Even the pregnant Vietnamese don't look fat.

              Anonymous

yes they are, most of the fat goes to the belly which looks ugly, you can have a girl with no ass, slim legs and arms, and fat belly
WHR over 0.8 means fat, over 0.85 is obese

Poor country + heavy fat shaming culture.

All the girls are skinny or normal weight. I love pounding their tight little pussies. Wish they had bigger asses and breasts. The "gymer" girls are have nice asses.

What are these women like, personality wise?

              Anonymous

              >What are these women like, personality wise?

Depends. Some don't work, they just leech off a sugar daddy. Some have 5 foreigner boyfriends that give her money every month. You want to find a hot girl, who went to university, and has a job.

If she's hot, she might also be entitled. If her dating profile is full of expensive dinners, roses, namebrand hang bags she might be a gold digger.

Best to date college girls and office workers, they're "normal girls". Avoid girls that work at the bars or night clubs.

I might one who was an entitled c**t and I regret not dumping her earlier.

              >What are these women like, personality wise?

Right, you asked me how are they personality wise. They're very basic. They work, watch youtube, nice to be around, tight little pussies, you be nice to them and they'll be nice to you. But they expect you to pay for ALL the dinners, that's how things are in Vietnam.

This may be true but at the same time, Vietnamese fatties are god tier, speaking as somebody who's into that shit. They're not that rare.

I get what you mean and I can't completely articulate it. I don't think I could handle the shit conditions of India, but southeast Asia has a nice balance. It's just really nice to go and do stuff without every step of it being regulated. Sometimes the west feels like a cattle corral and you can never just chill and slum it. In Vietnam, I can grab a 15,000 vnd beer at a convenience store, crack it open and walk across 8 lanes of motorbikes and it's chill. Some Karen would have you executed for that in the states for something so minor. It's freeing to not have the constant societal pressure and rules associated with every last single thing you can imagine. And people are happier for it.

Just went there for a week back in August with my gf (Viet). We stayed in the middle of the city rather than resorts, so no idea what that experience is like.

Noticeable amount of Russians and Chinese, but not overwhelming like e.g. Japan if you've been there. Nowhere felt busy enough that tourist crowds were annoying. However, we spent less time in the middle of the city late at night as we went to more local-oriented restaurants. I'd recommend joining on of the island boat tours or some of the private car tours to some towns around Nha Trang - a lot to see outside the city proper and will be less dense.

How likely is it that the security guard in the garage of my Hanoi apartment will run his mouth if I'm bringing different Vietnamese women home on different days? Is it safe to assume it's part of his job to mind his own business and not frick my shit up over here?

      >Is it safe to assume it's part of his job to mind his own business and not frick my shit up over here?

Nope. He will run his mouth because Vietnamese people love to gossip, especially when he sees a smelly Tay bringing back women, could be hookers. He will talk to the girl in Vietnamese when he sees them or gossip to the management.

I may have misunderstood you. Serviced apartments are fricking everywhere here but if you specifically mean ones you can rent for just one month, I'm not sure. I live here. Anyway the gay you just replied to isn't me.

yes that's what I mean: monthly rental, full furnished including sheets and towels and weekly cleaning
not "12 month contract + bare mattress"

Everything you just described is widespread except I'm unsure about contract length. Might be worth looking at some Faceberg groups and asking some of the agents.

Staying less than 45 days doesn't require a Visa, right? I'm from UK. Rules seem to change all the time in Asia

As a burger I can get a 30 day visa on arrival meaning I don't need to apply in advance, just show up and say "sawasdee krap homie, stamp my passport" and that's that. I can then extend another 30 days by paying around $60 at the local immigration office, but I think maybe you can get a 60 day visa in advance for less than the fee it costs to extend, so you should check your options if you know you want to go over 30 days. Maybe one of your fellow bongs here can give you more details than I can.

Oh mother fricker, my bad, I thought this was the Thailand general. Vietnam you definitely need to apply in advance but you can get a 90 day visa.

Seems like it's 45 days visa free for UK now. It must have changed because until very recently you needed an e-visa

because Vietnam isn't slave to American big pharma medicines and tests are cheap, just search for STD clinic

How did you get it ?
I had a Bible study session with a girl I paid 1.6M, she was young and clean but spent a lot of time riding the interstice or her Bible raw on my bookmark and even put a bit of it inside.
I have a regular pastor at home and hope I didn't get something.

I got it by having sex with three different women without a condom. There's one in particular that I think is probably more likely than the other two to have an STD, but it can happen to anybody so I really don't know and it doesn't ultimately matter. I may not even have anything but if I do then a shot should clear me up.

I didn't claim any amount, except in relative terms. Also it's not very hard in Vietnam and you should pull the stick out of your ass, learn some of the language (this impresses them even if you suck), and try, instead of taking petty, smug pleasure when somebody else who's just trying to enjoy life has a bad day.

I applied for an eVisa to stay for 33 days. The guy in immigration scribbled something I cannot read onto my passport. How do I know when I'm supposed to get out of the country?

Just leave whenever you want, and if anybody questions it, just point to the illegible scribble and say "the date is right there you illiterate moron"

      >33 days
This is not a thing. Their visas are 30 or 90 days. There should be an expiration date for your visa on the visa itself, and surely this is the same date scribbled on your passport.

I am staying for 14 days and on the e visa they wrote 16.

That's what I thought and assumed I'd get the 90 day visa, but no. Now I'll have to get out of the country and get back in with a new visa, frick me. Went to a restaurant in Da Nang tonight and the waitresses were wearing mini skirts and refilling my cup everytime I had a sip of beer. It was awkward as frick and the food wasn't great.

there are no 30 day visas, there is just one type of evisa that gives up to 90 days, but you can apply for less if you want
