Because he's doing something you find interesting while also not trying to hard to present it like it's some tv show. It's the same reason I like watching tdubskid and not overlanding fhomosexuals. The former uses a shitty motorcycle to go camping in different places while filming on a go pro. The latter Uses $80k of equipment to basically do the same thing and films it with $4k cameras and drones. Something about all the production kinda takes the adventure out of it. It's less relatable
