Aussie in a major city here. Am earning less than average (93k) but I live very frugally to live alone and keep up with the cost of living. Those earning similar to me are usually debtmaxxing or sharing living expenses with a partner/housemate.

I think if you're paying rent or a mortgage that is the real killer. I live in Sydney which is the most expensive city in Australia. My parents are both dead and left me the house that I'm living in. So I don't have to pay rent, I only pay utilities and council rates. I work 4 days a week and I earn 70k a year and life is pretty comfy. I get around in a small car, eat out 2 or 3 times a week, have converted a spare room into a home gym, and go overseas for a short holiday once a year. I've seen people who are earning 120K+ complain that everything is so expensive and they can't afford this or that and they can never save and I just don't get it. I have zero debt, hardly use my credit card and have close to 100k in savings and investments. Once the high cost of accomodation is off your shoulders then life can be pretty good.

          This.
You need a minimum of 5 million AUD to buy a medium sized place in cash.

            >You need a minimum of 5 million AUD
You can buy a decent place in many cities for between 900,000 and 1.2 million.

It's expensive to live there, even for just a single trip, but I checked reviews before going. My Tap card is serving me well for purchases, but I don't think I can sustain living there. It depends on the future if I decide to pursue it, lol.

Bunch of midwit vaxoids who hate freedom. Expensive. Filthy rich boomers hoarding wealth everywhere. Immigrants pouring into the place, demographic shift literally happening in front of your eyes. Rules for everything. Everything fun is illegal or taxed. Uppity natives and white “natives” claiming constant gibsmedat.

It’s a hell hole. Stay where you are. I would rather live in Bangladesh.

I live in a very nice ocean suburb on the outskirts of a medium sized city and it is absolute heaven. Gets a bit hot and humid in summer but winter is amazing, will barely see a cloud in the sky for four months of the year, it's cool enough to be cozy at night but warm enough to be nice during the day. Ethnic homogoneity is incredibly high, the majority of non-whites you'll see are married to whites (i.e. Filipina/Thai male order brides with rich old boomers). It's incredibly stable, next to no crime, everything you ever need is available either at the local shops or online. Everywhere you go you'll see men joking with each other and women smiling and being friendly. There are 5 gyms just in my suburb. Sports and fitness and the outdoors is very popular (though we have our fair share of hamplanets). I would say the single most striking thing about this part of the world that I always notice after travelling - young women working retail/hospo jobs are just so damn friendly, smiley and sweet. Honestly, it's unreal. I am living in the heaven that my Irish ancestors dreamed of when they were thrown on those boats. Pic related, it's one of the islands across the bay from me.

I don't think Australia has any specific diseases you're likely to get. It's very clean generally. There's a lot of dangerous wildlife but relatively easy to stay safe. Don't come if you're afraid of big spiders though.
