I enjoyed Cyprus too(went to west coast) but would never live there. Some people there seemed like shysters. Also seems like a place my blonde gf would be raped if I didn't watch her at all times
I don't really like santorini. But I guess if you go with a girlfriend its cool. I've been there twice, and it is beautiful but man the fucking port is such a pain in the ass
Mallorca was nice. Away from the chavvy resorts full of pissed up young bongs it's peaceful and you can enjoy the Med weather and cuisine. There's a place Chopin stayed at and you can go look at his stuff. I asked if I could play blues on his piano. They said no
Ibiza - went for a meme clubbing holiday years ago. I had a blast as I was about 19 and all I wanted to do was drink beer in the sun and go to clubs at night. The rest of the island is meant to be very nice and undervisited as all the clubbers put people off. I've never been to that bit.
Santorini is a succession of instagram moments. Too much like a theme park of cover pics to be enjoyed tbh. Expensive and very busy. It looks very nice but you get bored of it within 48h.
Everybody go to the east coast and it gets massive.
I recommend you visiting the west coast: plenty of beaches where you'll only find locals and not many people.
You can start visiting l'Alguer which is a small town where old people still speak Catalan. Then follow the coast towars south and stop by places like Porto Mandriola and such until you arrive to Cagliari.
The east coast is massively crowded but you can go to Dorgali and buy some wine.
i spent about a week there near olbia.
must dos;
rent a boat in cala gonone (sp) and check out cala goloritze and cala luna
visit madalena / caprera islands
cala brandinchi beach
the beaches are super nice and the water is unreal. if youre looking for a beach vacation this rivals or beats anything the carribean has to offer. i loved my time there. i wish i got to explore the island more but its a pretty big island (3-4 hours to drive from north to south) so i just stayed in the northeastern part. ill def go back one day
Easily the best Mediterranean island
It doesn't make sense to put it in the same list as Cyprus or Malta since it's so big and there's so many things to do/visit, compared to other tinier islands.
My gf is from the southern part, near Cagliari. It's far from the most touristic and VIP beaches in the north, but still very enjoyable plus there's less tourists and the beaches aren't as crowded
It's ok but the people are kind of crude. Some towns are nice, others are shitholes. The word "welcoming" is not one I would use for Corsica. And I do speak fluent French.
People told me corsica is more apt for a hiking holiday, the beaches are nice but nothing outstanding, while it's a paradise if you're into hiking/trekking or if you like traveling by motorbike or mountain bike. They also told me it's quite expensive.

Can it be because they see French people as foreigners /occupiers? How strong is the Corsican indipendente movement?
>How strong is the Corsican indipendente movement?
Not as strong in the past, but still strong, a part of It wants autonomy, while there Is also some italian irredentism in there
>As of 2012, the island is 98% owned by Larry Ellison, co-founder and chairman of Oracle Corporation
Holy shit, is this the replacement for Epstein island?
Went to Paros, Mykonos and Santorini at the very beginning of October years ago, dead end of the tourist season. Pretty much had Paros completely to ourselves, remember it very fondly. Not a lot to do but very pretty. Planning to go back. Rented ATVs and rode around the whole island in a day.
Should mention, by "to ourselves" I mean that it didnt seem like there were any other tourists there. Felt genuine, like the whole island was finally relaxing now that the hordes were gone. Santorini was crowded as fuck but Mykonos had kinda the same vibe.
I've been to Santorini, Naxos, Syros, Rhodes, and Cyprus.
I'd say Naxos is the best of the ones I've been to. Quiet, still very traditional, but open to tourism. Variety of activities, great food, cheaper than other islands. If you're ever going to Greece don't just going to Santorini and Mykanos, see some of the ones with fewer tourists.
Malta then Mallorca. I enjoyed both and found the people friendly

what’s bad about the port? I am flying there from athens and will be there for almost all of holy week, leaving two days after Easter next year
bumping because i am also interested. are these places more like big resort destinations or small countrysides with beaches?

Well seeing as no sighseeners have visited Corsica and it looks the greenest. I'll go with that one as being the best.
Just don’t piss off the locals
why wouldnt/would you? aside from just basic human decency?
By being rude to the wrong people. Pretty easy to do after people are rude to you, because you are of no consequence in their town.

Am I retarded?
Why is Malta not in that image?
Because Malta is fucking tiny bro
>mogged by Lanai
oof, it really is fucking tiny
>As of 2012, the island is 98% owned by Larry Ellison, co-founder and chairman of Oracle Corporation
Holy shit, is this the replacement for Epstein island?
No, lots of islands are privately owned without being Epstein islands. Niihau is privately owned as well. Lanai is way too high profile anyways.
best malta
worst crete
Can you offer more info, anon?
Anybody here been to Sicily? My great grandparents came from Sicily, so I'm kind of curious about it.
