Japan is obviously the nicest country btw but I don't have much experience with it. Level-headed reviews of Jap women are hard to come by so I don't have much input. Korean women are the obvious worst of NEA and with SEA you are putting up with far lower standards of living and IQ shredding your future kids for no good reason.

If we are racial characteristics maxing Japan is probably better. Same foreigner hill to climb, nicer place for westerners, probably more opportunities to stay longer. I've never been feet on the ground but the stereotype I always hear is that the northern chinese are as you mention, but also far colder in personality and behavior. The southern and western chinese are supposedly the more childishly feminine type.
I don't think Japanese have much of an edge over mid-upper class northeastern Chinese, therefore my suggestion. I think you're right on the rest though except the stereotype - northern Chinese are some of the warmest/friendliest people I've ever been around. Far more relatable than both Japanese and southern Chinese IMO.
