Great Britain. Or rather, the scottish parts of it. Yeah, sure, it's been proven time and time again that anyone outside of roman roads, even to this day, has a lot of catching up to do. But even then, the disparity between anglo-saxon counties and the scottish north is way too obvious. The brits simply never really invested anything of substance into that place, and it shows. Badly.
Having said that, I do like the scotts and their country, but their infrastructure and economy are busted if compared to the "majority" portions of their alleged country.

        >Every time I have left this country and came back I go into a depression over what a depressing shithole this place is
this is me but for uk. it doesn't help that i often fly back in to luton airport (from europe) which is a 3rd world airport in a 3rd world city only populated by 3rd worlders, but happens to be the cheapest (by far) and most convenient (by far) for me to get back home from, and buying a rail ticket on the day in the uk means getting price gouged by 5x the normal price of a ticket (that you have to buy on the day because you have no fricking idea if the airport is going to frick something up or make you spend an hour waiting to go through immigration like it always seems to be, or if the plane is delayed because the airport or air traffic control doesn't have enough staff or modern enough systems to function properly so you can't really buy a ticket a couple of weeks ahead of time), and then once you finally get out of the airport absolutely everything just goes downhill from there

      >Less culture than the Midwest.
Plenty of it actually, the place has been continuously inhabited for millennia.
      >Garbage food
Food is what you want it to be here. Both garbage and fine dining are within reach.
      >ugly women
      Generally agree.
      >expensive to boot.
Maybe on a global scale, but cheaper than most of NW Europe.

On the whole, while life can be easy and comfy in Belgium, it's a depressing place as far as I'm concerned.

Portugal. It feels like third-world but living off old colonial times money to keep itself from collapsing. Also looks like a big warning sign for the UK.

The guy is exagerating but we legitimately are pretty much a third world country in every aspect baring tourism at this point.
You were either lucky during your stay or very well located.
That in mind it's still my national duty to call Spain fricking homosexuals, and their branch of tourism and locations a joke on the peninsulas soil, I wouldn't even piss on their land out of disgust.

France/Belgium/England, very boring places overall. I've had a better time in Spain, Italy and Greece despite them being poorer.

It's hard to write off an entire country, but I had a shit time in Vienna from start to finish. On the surface it's got plenty of great architecture, but the people there were super rude in an anal retentive way where they acted like you were just an annoyance to them. Then it was expensive with everything imaginable costing more than it should from public toilets to museums to food. And there really wasn't a hell of a lot to do.

But me and my ex are the only people I know who hated that city.

I've heard a lot of people say Austria is shit actually. It's like a German speaking Italy.

If you think Austria, a place with some of the best ski and hiking resorts in the world, is shit. Then you're probably just a citybugman.
        >German Speaking Italy
        That's literally Süd-Tyrol and it's wonderful.

I enjoyed Germany but I have absolutely zero interest in returning. Can't say the same for the other places I've been.
