When former military elements got together and founded the Los Zetas cartel, that started an arms race sort of thing among cartels, especially after Calderón declared war on them in 2008. It's gotten worse thanks to negligence under Peña and a complete ignorance of the problem under AMLO.

Mexican police operate under the idea that cops are a deterance. Not a investigative force that finds out what happens and dishes out punishment. That's why criminals in general not just the mafias can do whatever they want. There is a very good chance you get away with whatever your trying to do. Mexico needs to do a couple of things.

Train cops to be detectives and gather information. That will actually lead to poeple going to jail and crimes not paying off.

They need to make the judicial part of the government completely independent. That way they can investigate anybody for crimes and not be told to stop by corrupt politicans. Judges need to be infepdent too. They all answer to their respective governors or the president if a federal judge. That's not ok.

I don't see it working. Too many layers involved. Not even legalizing for regulation. They say the shit's gnarly. The producers are coerced, the distributors kill each other and the consumers die from the drugs. No one wins.

Yup. Why havnt they allowed regular poeple to own guns yet? Fricking cops and army can't protect poeple. Atleast let poeple defend themselves. Then atleast have the army hunt down the dangerous guys and burn down drug labs. But honestly, mexcians are stupid but not this fricking stupid. In my honest opinion. It's a drug state.

The politicans are in cahoots with the drug lords and they both make a shitload of money off the drug trade. If america wants to fix this, we are going to have to get invovled. Think of panama with Manuel. That's mexico but it's much bigger. It's to the point where mexicans themselves can't possibly fix this. And they supply drugs to europe now. Hell who knows. im a white american living in mexico. the first and only time we called the cops they blocked our phone number from calling 911 and threatened to arrest us for calling them "wasting their time"

narco lookouts just hang out on street corners with phones/radios and alert crews when cops drive by. everyone knows they are there but do nothing about it. recently in the city i live in they started to go to schools and demand money from the principals. at night you hear full auto gun battles going on and wake up to burning/burned cars on the streets in the morning because they were using them to block the roads against cops. when i first moved here the city was in literal martial law after disbanding the local cops because of corruption and instead had military and federals patrolling the city

Those are basically large gangs. Cartels are a much different story. They make billions a year, not millions.

There is no way in hell MS-13 could literally blow up a prison, let prisoners escape, and hold an entire military compound hostage, all the while going toe to toe with the military in the streets.

        >The Explosive Latina vegana and the Squatter Invasion

        >Translated from Spanish

        >Background:

        >•In 1800, Mexican population was 5 million
        >•Majority European-Spanish
        >•Today it is 190+ million (130m in Mexico, 60m in US)
        >•Majority mestizo

        >Q: What's so explosive about the Latino population?

        >A: In the 18th century, Mexico's population was 4 million with the mestizo population at 1%. According to church registers from the colonial times, the majority of Spanish men married with Spanish women. Europeans had little interaction with Indios, since Indios existed outside the colonized areas and were not subjects.

        >Historic accounts observed that New Spain's European population was notoriously concerned with preserving their European heritage, with practices such as inviting relatives and friends directly from Spain or favouring Europeans for marriage even if they were from a lower socioeconomic level than them being common.

        >In 1900, there were only 14 million Mexicans. The population in entire Mexico was so small, that European Spaniards made up the majority of the population in urban areas and also in northern states. By 1940, there were only 18 million Mexicans. By 1970s, the population exploded to 70 million.

        >Today, there are 190 million Mexicans (130 million in Mexico, and 60 million hanging out in US). My country not only experienced an explosive increase in population from 5 million to 190 million, but was transformed demographically, from majority Spanish-European stock to majority mestizo.

          >Q: Wow, so most of Mexico was empty 100 years ago?

          >A: Yes, Mexico was very sparsely populated and the majority of the population lived in the south. The north was always uninhabited wilderness, being so remote, rugged, dry and inhospitable. In fact, when the US military pushed south of the border during the Mexican-American war, they found that northern Mexico was almost entirely depopulated. California was a remote frontier outpost with an insignificant population.

          >When the US annexed the territories, there only 10K people living in the entire area. The country was so empty that the Mexican government asked for European settlers to help populate the land and imported many French, Russians, Germans, and Spaniards. Throughout the history of Mexico, Europeans made up the majority, until the mestizo population explosion of the 1900s.

          >Q: So just like New Mexico, Mexico proper originally had a majority European population?

          >A: Yes, indeed. New Mexico is time capsule that showed what the population of the entirety of Mexico was like: majority European and sparsely populated. In fact, the Hispanics of New Mexico aggressively emphasize their pure European-Spanish ancestry, and fiercely assert that they are pure descendants of the original Spanish colonists, from 500 years ago, with deep roots in the region.

          >They make it a point that they in no way accept or approve of the sudden appearance and recent invasion of the mestizo population, whom they consider alien. They clarify that they are distinct from the mestizos, who are a new, invasive phenomenon, with separate culture, language, traits, race, and history.

            Anonymous

            >Q: How could the mestizos go from an insignificant minority to become an overwhelming majority? What's so explosive about their vegana?

            >A: The mestizos are a mix of Indios, who are racially Mongoloid and have biological breeding habits similar to their Asiatic kin (Chinese and Indians). Prepubescent sex has been universally practiced and historically documented amongst the natives. Herbert Klein's demographic history of Amatenango, Chiapas (1785-1816) reveals that average age of marriage was around 11 and fertility was very high at 9 children, amongst natives.

            >The mestizo sexual habits also lacked the sexual mores and selection of their European counterparts. The Europeans based sexual selection on attractiveness and positive mental traits, while the mestizos had no such restrictions or lofty aspirations.

            >As a result, the limits that control the population of Europeans, does not exist amongst mestizos, as unrestricted sex is practiced freely. Prior to the introduction of Western medicine and technology, the mestizos experienced high mortality rates and very few would survive to adulthood. However, the arrival of Western medicine and technology enabled the early sexual development, unrestrained sexual habits, and high fertility rate of mestizos to experience an explosive population boom.

              Anonymous

              >Q: But irrespective of Western medicine, how could they feed so many kids? Isn't Mexico poor?

              >A: Being so sparsely populated with lack of administration, there were practically no enforced laws. Many European settlers bought property only to realize that property laws were practically unenforcable when, all of a sudden, thousands of rapidly-spawning mestizos appeared overnight, from seemingly nowhere, to live and loot on private property. The mestizos didn't need to buy a house, since they could easily squat and set up a shanty town where ever they would like.

              >The mestizo didn't need money for shelter and neither for food, as in their culture, children fend for themselves and are taught to take what they like, since nothing is enforced. With the practice of squatting and unrestricted sex, the mestizos growth potential approached infinity as they rapidly expanded to squat in private territories and establish their shanty towns, with no regard to any laws.

              >Q: Squatters? This has to be bullshit. I don't believe any of this!

              >A: Take the example of European settlers who paid $48k in 1900 for 13k acres of barren land in Guadalupe in Baja, Mexico. The Mexican government was looking for Europeans to settle this remote barren region, and this group of Russian farmers bought the wasteland to develop and farm.

They successfully turned the desert wasteland into developed farmland and enjoyed the fruits of their hard labor, undisturbed and in solitary peace for 60 years, until the mestizos experienced a population explosion and reached into the remote region of the little piece of paradise the Europeans had managed to create.

                Anonymous

                >By 1960, thousands of mestizos came out of nowhere and invaded their farm, quickly erecting cardboard shacks on their farm fields and looting the crops, turning their remote piece of paradise into a shanty town literally overnight. The mestizos told the White farmers that they do not belong in Mexico and threatened to burn and kill the Europeans, forcing them to escape for their lives. This scenario played out throughout Mexico as the squatters gained more White-owned territory, with the aid of their population explosion.

                >Q: Sounds like Mexico had a race war and the squatters won

                >A: Yes, this happened gradually, over a long period of time. Miguel Hidalgo was one of many early squatters, who led mestizos to sack and loot European haciendas, who had no means to enforce property laws against the mestizos. The mestizos continued to engage in organized squatting, looting, and guerrilla warfare for over a century, but their population was insignificant back in the 1800s to take over the entire country.

                >As the mestizo population continued to grow, so did the magnitude of their squatting campaigns to take over private property grow bolder and more violent, until the 1900s, when they finally outnumbered the Europeans and turned squatting into full-scale warfare.

                >The Mexican Revolution of 1910-1920 manifested the violent supremacist demands of the new mestizo majority, who sought to transform the Mexican nation on the identity and dominance of the Mestizo race, while ethnically cleansing the European and Indio races and appropriating their property.

                >The nationalist nature of the Mexican Revolution was based on the supremacy of mestizo cosmic race (La raza cósmica). This organized race war against the Europeans, was led by mestizo revolutionaries: Zapata and Pancho Villa, who called for "Mexico for the Mexicans (mestizos)" and prompted take over of lands from Europeans.

                Anonymous

                >Zapata led mestizos in the central state of Morelos, who squatted up large European haciendas. Pancho Villa wanted to seize White estates and divide them among squatting mestizos. They appropriated European haciendas to award the lands to mestizos.

                >The Cárdenas alliance with mestizo groups is credited with the destruction of the European farm system. Some 448,000 hectares of land there were appropriated in 1936. The squatters achieved similar appropriations in Yucatán and the Yaqui valley in 1937; Lombardía and Nueva Italia, Michoacan; Los Mochis, Sinaloa; and Soconusco Chiapas in 1938. In 1940, the squatters appropriated 45,000,000 acres (180,000 km2) of land.

                >The Mexican Revolution transformed the formerly European country into a mestizo nation. By the 1950s, their explosive population growth spread their squatting campaigns into historically White northern Mexico, where they reached positions near the border to launch invasions on foreign soil.

                >The violent squatting continued to grow with their explosive population throughout the decades as they appropriated ever more property, with no regard to law. With egos and confidence boosted by 100 years of victory, they expanded their squatting invasion onto foreign soil north of the border. After all the wars, invading gringoland was like stealing candy from a baby.

                >Q: What was happening in the cities?

                >A: Mexico, throughout history, was a sparsely populated agricultural country. The mestizos were in rural areas where they squatted on European-owned farmland. The cities were inhabited by Europeans. My grandparents even mentioned how they never saw any mestizos in their city. Eventually the mestizo population exploded, especially from the 1940s, as they spread out of rural farmland and quickly became the majority in the cities, setting up shanty towns. With the wave of mestizos, our once peaceful cities were transformed, almost overnight.

                >Q: So the invasion of US is just an extension of the 100 year old mestizo squatter campaign?

                >A: Pretty much. Their easy-peasy victories in Mexico reinvigorated their racial war, since they know that no one can stop La Raza.

Thank you for these excerpts from the book. anon. I didn’t know that, nut it really is the same story as in Europe. Suddenly with the Industrial Revolution the lowest forms of life, the bottom of the social hierarchy, which traditionally was never the majority, used the immense wealth of the IR to clone themselves with no regard for their offspring. And of course Mestizos are even lower than the underclass in Europe. This damaged, wretched life than simply replicated itself continually and even spreads to the USA.

Ever since it began as a nation. Not even kidding. Mexico has just been trading one corrupt leader for an even more corrupt one and this is their history.

So why don't different parts of mexico just succeed and get away from mexico city's bullshit? The south can be one country. The north another. The west coast another. The rest Cana stay mexico.

    >when and why did it become a nightmarish shithole warzone?
Its always been a nightmarish shithole warzone. Mexicos entire political history from the 19th to 21st centuries have been lined with corruption and infighting
    >in the 50s all the movie stars were vacationing there
They were vacationing in Cancun and Puerto Viarta, old white boomers still vacation in these places to this day because they're basically American colonies at this point.

lmao, trust me, Mexico can be a lot worse than that. The largest slum in the world is in Mexico city. I've been to parts of Mexico where none of the roads are paved, half the houses are in ruin, the few that aren't in ruin will get you stared down by what are presumably cartel members who just want you out of their fricking neighborhoods, there are street dogs everywhere, the tap water literally fricking smells, there are literally no police to be found, which is arguably worse than seeing cops walking around with guns, and the closest things to any public services are a "fire department" that consists of a single Toyota pickup truck with a signal glued to the roof and a water tank in the bed. And there are no street lights or crossing lights at any of the intersections. Going out at night is basically suicide

Maybe america should take over mexico and turn them into about 4 or 5 territories. Go down to Costa Rica and run it ourselves. After 10 to 15 years they can be new states.

Think about the positives. Beautifull beaches. Tons of valuable farmland. Tons of recources from oil to natural gas to lithium.

Maybe the best thing for everybody is if we simply take over mexico. Sure it would take 1 or 2 trillion and 10 years. Corporations would love it too bc millions of labor would come from mexico and Tons of mexicans would make more money buying more shit. It's really a win win for everybody really

Anon, Afghanistan is on the other side of the planet and the goal wasn't even to conquer that territory, it was to make peace with the taliban, which we did. Did you somehow forget that America already occupies Mexico City in the past?

              >the goal wasn't even to conquer that territory
It was to establish a stable power in the region that would curb Taliban influence. You couldn't into state building and the area fell to the goatfrickers in less than 7 months because all of the afghan national army was full of pedophile hash smokers.
              >Did you somehow forget that America already occupies Mexico City in the past?
Oh you mean back when the American government WASN'T colluding with cartels and providing them with the markets for their business? You're comparing an openly declared war full of pitched battles(Mexican American war) to a failed police action (War on Drugs) that was dragged out longer than any ever asked for it to be?

face it homie. you're declining and everyone laughs when you act like it's still 1980 and you're the global janny

Establishing a stable power was a secondary goal. The only losers in Afghanistan was Afghanistan itself. The only losers in the War on Drugs is Mexico. You're a brown salty moron.

There is no government in Mexico. Hell, there’s no God in Mexico. Never will be. We are dealing with a people manifestly incapable of governing themselves. And do you know what happens with people who cannot govern themselves? That’s right. Others come in to govern for them.

      >Hell, there’s no God in Mexico.
Actually, even in the shittiest parts of Mexico, every single store will be closed on Sunday for Church services. I would argue one of Mexicos main issues is that they're highly religious.

It was relatively safe (as safe as a poor rural country can be) and even prosperous 1930s-1960s. Cartels were cocaine cowboys on the fringes with barely any government influence. The militarization of groups kicked off with former DEVGRU trained operatives turned drug lords only started with Los Zetas in the 90s and peaked in the 2010s following an open declaration of "police operations" within the country.

it's a convenient situation for them. Beaners cook as much drugs as they want, cartels have more power than the military, if cops/feds try to investigate they get paid off, snitches get murdered, and amerimutts keep the whole thing going by giving them money for said drugs. Even if mexico isn't producing them the drug routes are allowed to proliferate because of how corrupt the place is

Mexicans could easily elect hard on crime PAN candidates they just don't want to
Most voting Mexicans live in cities that are protected from cartel violence so they pay it no mind
It reminds me of America where blue states keep electing governors that don't do anything about crime, homelessness, and the housing crisis . Just a failure of democracy

And it doesn't even make sense to total up sacrifices that way, since it's not like the Mexica gave a sacrificial quota to it's subject states, they all handled their sacrifices independently and locally. It's not one unified entity doing them.
