The thing in your picture appears to be a groundhog/woodchuck, however; I only see them eating people’s gardens.

I just looked up some mammal facts and have learned, much to my surprise, that marmots are considered ground squirrels. So are prairie dogs, among other animals.
Washington DC, these squirrels also have security clearances and will probably tell you some cool stories 🙂

I've actually encountered friendly squirrels in Colorado. Just up in the mountains somewhere. Can't remember which specific mountain, though.

UK in general has lots, just go to some quiet parks and find some
