I usually do some exploring through google flights for a second vacation this year.
I can only budget to take 1 week off (have to leave on a saturday and only miss 5 days of work and return on a sunday).
Season doesn't really matter, would be interesting to see a place even in winter like October/November. Departure would be from Vancouver. Prefer nonstop or 1 stop. Overnight flight is a major win too. Also prostitution is not for me, so could give a shit about whores.
Some options I've seen
Paris: Nonstop, 9 hour~ flight, overnight flight available. 900 dollars.
I know nothing about Paris, but I do speak some French. Is it a city worth visiting? Are hotels affordable?
London: nonstop, 9 hour flight, overnight. 900 dollars
I speak english, but have been told london can be expensive and quite boring
Amsterdam: nonstop, 9 hour flight overnight. Also 900 dollars.
Mexico City: Nonstop, 5 hour flight, 800~ on average
probably cheap hotels, big enough city so lots to see, great food I bet. Could also escape for 5 days and miss less time from work which would make the trip alot cheaper.
Wildcard: Athens 11 hour flight.
could visit family, it would be during the offseason so its insanely cheap for hotels/car rental. but would def feel like a waste just going for 1 week.
Another Wildcard: Vegas. Insaenly cheap flights and i think its only 3 hours.
Could see all the nature sites outside of vegas but to me traveling in the USA is just fucking boring.
Any ideas?
If you only have a week go to Ireland instead. You can see a lot of the country during that time, it's English speaking, and pretty easy to navigate for tourists. Go from Dublin to Killarney and Dingle and you can do either outdoor stuff in those places or if it rains you can hang out in pubs and listen to folk music. From Dublin there's all sorts of trips you could do to see castles and ruins like Newgrange or Glendalough.
price would be the same too. I'll research a bit into it.
>Paris
It is NOT worth visiting. The protip to France is that all of the best part of france are scattered at its borders, everything inland of that is dogshit that should absolutely be avoided. If you want to start off well with France, it can be done but not in Paris. A riviera trip during summer is great, not cheap but it is true kino French relaxation and you can reliably get a flight from Paris to Nice to get there and back.
>London
Just don't, shittier version of NYC with far less to do. Very expensive, very boring, increasingly criminal. Like with France, England is best explored away from its main cities. The anon who suggest Ireland has a great point.
>Amsterdam
degeneracy central but its still a beautiful city, especially in summer when a bike ride is pretty nice. You can see the whole thing in 3 days so you have some time to relax
>CDM
It's great, highly recommend, especially recommend to do a daytrip to Puebla.
>Vegas
You know what you're getting into if you fly here.
IMO consider amsterdam or mexico. Amsterdam if you want a nice chill euro city, mexico for better food. If you're a mezcalfag like me, it's practically heaven. You do need to be careful though, crime hotspots are really hot there.
i went to london for 5 days solo in march and it was /kino/
Everything you said is wrong. Doubt you've ever been there.
What did you do? Thought about going for awhile
Went to the British Museum, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Tower of London, Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, British Library, walked around Piccadilly Circus and Chinatown, if you like history you will love London, there's a ton to see. There are cool pubs around almost every corner
If you're into cooming, I made a tinder when i was there and got some cute matches but i didn't pursue any of them but it's possible
>i did the most basic of tours and it was /kino/
bro this is like saying you went to new york and had a kino time because you saw times square, the empire state building, central park and the statue of liberty. Telling us you went on the most basic bitch tour of London is not the flex you think it is, it just tells everyone you've got shit taste and/or that you've barely traveled abroad
>the pubs
are lackluster compared to proper cocktail bars or just outright exploring local scotch
>doing popular things is bad, because they're popular
>you should explore local scotch in London
Were your parents related?
I do recommend Paris. Went there for 4 days and enjoyed it a lot. Only stayed in the tourist areas/center where everything was pretty clean and amazing architecture. Food is great too.
7-10 days may be too long but you could rent a car and go up to the Normandy or any other place.
Its now a 3rd world shithole. If you want to get beaten and raped by immigrants then be my guest & visit.
20 years ago yes it was nice
Yeah, right. Pretty common for a tourist to be beaten at daylight strolling through Marais. Oh, for fuck's sake. There are lot of darkies there but a tourist, doing tourist things, will not experience any harm. At most some touts trying to sell overpriced trinkets. That's pretty much everywhere that is highly touristic and you could always not be a pussy and just say no.
Anyone who recommends against Paris is a fucking retard. Ignore the guy 2 posts above.
Hawaii...only 6hrs from vancouver. Should be cheap too flying from west coast
verona italy and surroundings, to the north are mountains and cool towns, north west is lake garda and cool towns, west are bergamo and milan, south is mantua and bologna, east is venice (and vicenza and padua), north east are the small towns of veneto
you can get to verona from milan, or venice airports, rome airport is a little far. munich airport is a little far
bruh do not go to paris
Hotels in CDMX aren't that cheap. I'm going for 4 nights later this year and mid-range hotels are routinely selling for $250 a night.
Don't do Vegas for 7-10 days. Just don't
