Which city in France is the best to visit?

Which city in France is the best to visit? Is Paris really that bad or is it overblown by ‘the west has fallen’ people who have never actually been there? What about Marseille—it has a certain allure.

Paris is bad but it's also overblown by Westfallen people. It's really the cities surrounding Paris that can be dangerous, but Paris proper (intramuros) isn't that dangerous. The only real danger are pickpocketers and it would be a shame to miss it because there's a lot of interesting stuff to see.
Marseille has a chill southern atmosphere but it can be quite dangerous if you're not careful. There's not a lot of cultural landmarks there so if I were you I'd just avoid it altogether.

Lived 3 months in Paris, nothing happened.

Walked at 4:30am outside Paris, (Seine Saint-Denis, section) Nothing happened.

Yet the only complain is tourism. Dunno, it sorta happens.. you start to hate them. Pickpockets only attack tourist who are distracted looking at the Eiffel Tower our some other low quality building.

Is expensive yes, but nice if you mind your own business.

However, I think Strasbourg really is king here. Beautiful on summer/winter. Awesome architecture, different from Paris and from any part of France.

You walk the whole city in like 30min. Is so close to Germany, you can literaly pass the Rhin River and walk into German territory. (Citizens use this to buy cheaper cigs)

Strasbourg shares both french and german language (a weird german tbh) But a hell of a silent beatiful city.

Colmar, located nearby, has the Isenheim Altarpiece, a 10/10 painting.

Southern France is good for a roadtrip. There are a lot of roman ruins and a lot of cool small towns and cities. The wine is amazing. The food is great. And the people are friendly in the south. Nimes, Arles, Avignon, Orange, Roussillon, Gordes, Aix, Cassis, and La Ciotat are all great. Do it in September when the crowds are gone, but it's still nice enough to go swim. If the French didn't smoke so much, it would be a perfect vacation spot. It can get annoying when you're sitting outside at dinner and 100 people around you are all smoking in a narrow courtyard.

Last time I was in Paris, it was pretty shit. Eiffel Tower region in particular had a persistent scent of urine that I don't recall being there ten years ago.

South of France was still fine though, once you got away from big cities. Would highly recommend, like
      mentions.

These guys get it. You could fly in and out of Frankfurt. Take the train down to Strasbourg and Colmar. You could stop at Heidelberg on the way. That's a good trip.

Honestly it's not the supposed "crime" (westfallens stfu) but the noise that's going to be an issue if you're not used to it. Paris has got to be one of the noisiest cities

All in all, Paris is safer than downtown San Francisco or L.A.

Not saying it's safe, but take it as is it, a western globohomosexual hub.

The best thing about France is natural scenery. Most cities are boring. Rent a car and explore the countryside, the mountains, the seaside etc public transportation is shit.
Outside of july and august, you'll have everything for yourself.

go stay in a city in the Loire valley, ideally Tours. rent a car and you'll be able to make day trips to see all of France's most impressive chateaux. after all, that's the main thing France has over other Euro countries.

Paris is the best city in France to visit and not at all like /misc/ makes it look like. Yes, there is non white people. And touts trying to sell you things. And its more violent than small cities. All that is obvious considering is the biggest city in the country and it's capital. Still it's one of those must visit cities. It's full of museums, great restaurants, cultural life, shops and mindblowing architecture (more for its urban planning, actually). Don't listen to poltards. Yes, it has problems but as a tourist walkng around the most central arrondissements you'll face none of them.

      you've never lived in paris

Yes, never. Op asked for the best city to visit, not to live. And tourists go to touristic cities to see touristic sights. Lol, he would go to Marais, Arc de Triomphe, Saint-Germain. Why would he go to a shitty suburb full of africans? Unless he's a "realtraveller". But then he could just go to Congo instead.
The "small cordoned off section" has weeks of sights worth seeing and things worth doing. If he got bored he could board a train to go to another city.
Yes, we are not at early XX century anymore but saying that Paris is not worth it is ridiculous. So is saying that a tourist there face any real danger out of the ordinary.

It may be broken and martyred, but Paris is Paris. The city of lights. The most beautiful city in the world. The centre of European culture and civilisation. Nothing else compares.

      1. Its city of THE LIGHT (la lumière) not the lights
      2. Its a fricking dump, even Madrid has a nicer metro, is safer and cleaner in general, and not swarmed with PoCs
      3. European culture and civilization in 2023 is sick and rotten and suicidal, so being the center of it means its more akin to sodom

Youre stuck in the year 1910

        1. No, actually, ‘La Ville Lumière’ means France is the city of enlightenment in terms of culture and learning. Nothing to do with lights, this is an English invention. Therefore, getting uppity between the use of ‘light’ or ‘lights’ is silly.

        2. Every major urban centre is ‘swarmed’ with POCs. I don’t know why you think Madrid is the exception. The only reason people on this board like to highlight Madrid is because they associate it with romantic ideas about Franco and Falangism. It is not nearly as historically and culturally important as Paris.

        3. This is just ridiculous nonsense.

          1. La lumière means enlightenment in french, not physical light. Learn french before you correct others
          2. Rome, lisbon, Madrid have one fifth the Black person jnfestation of paris. Paris has not been relevant since 1968, and that was just to kickstart mass nihilism
          3. Cope

            1. That’s… literally what I said. Can you read?

            2. Literally zero statistics that can verify that. The French don’t record ethnicity in their census.

            3. moron, completely obtuse

              Anonymous

              1. Can you read? I said Paris is the city of "the light" as opposed to "the lights" (Anon's term) since lumiere means both light and the Enlightenment in French. You, being a midwit, stepped in to correct me.
You do not speak French, but I'm sure you wish you did
              2. Go look up rates of Sickle Cell in France.
              3. If you don't think Europe is suicidal, go look up another french term, "la grande remplacement"
The fact this term exists in French first and not other language should be a clue for you.

Black folk, safety is expected. The problem with Paris, and all French urban centers really, is that it's a monument to western globalization and the death of European culture.

For Northern France I can recommend Boulogne-sur-Mer. It´s a nice little historical port city with a beautiful cathedral. The Bay of Wissant is close by as well which has a nice beach and leftover bunkers from when the Germans used it to fire shells at England
