Which country has the most affordable dental care?

Which country has the most affordable dental care? I am getting to a point where I can barely eat food now I have a bunch of broken teeth and I'm in the USA. The dental quotes I got here would bankrupt me to get the work done, over 20,000 dollars. The dental in this country is a racket and the ADA actively lobbies in government to make dental care not be covered by health insurance, so my premiums and deductibles do not cover it. I've heard this is a problem in the UK too. So what do you anons suggest for the best place to visit for dental care and to have a good vacation? I have heard Mexico is not a great choice. but have heard suggestions like Jordan, Turkey, among others. I need to find a dentist and I need to find one fast so I can get back to eating normally. I put off getting the work done but it's getting to a point now where I have to make a decision. Any advice appreciated anons

I've never been but my dad and his wife went for cheap dental treatment, said it was relaxing and the dental work was great. But they really didn't do anything, just relaxed at some hotel by the pool
Many other things to do in Thailand...
anyway, all the best that sounds terrible. It's kinda the same in my country

its not too bad i can still eat soft foods like soups and ice creams and stuff like that , peanut butter and such i'll be ok, many people suffer worse than me around the world so i am thankful for what i have and also that I can actually afford to travel to get the work done, what is life without some pain, Cecil the lion walked for 12 hours with an arrow in his side after he was shot by a dentist, i cant imagine that pain of walking 12 hours with an arrow in my body. slowly hemorrhaging. I will check out thailand and see what i can do there, ive been looking into many places but not thailand so its a good suggestion for me to look into it. i also need to see travel costs for airfaire and hotel and such.

Not done it myself, but from the UK the Czech Republic is supposed to be the cheapest where you get modern equipment and good standards. Turkey is cheaper, but a bit like Mexico.

I would probably try Czech Republic or Hungary, which is also cheap and well set up for dental tourism.

i will check that out, i would prefer to visit prague , sounds like a better vacation spot than bangkok in general. thanks for the suggestion anon.

Dude if you are from the USA, anywhere is gonna be better for you. Significantly better. Literally go anywhere. Just reserve some funds for any follow-ups as well, like you would at home. Do your own googling on the doctors, though. Don't pick the one that has the best English, pick the one that has the most and not bad reviews.

yeah i realize that but also having a limited budget i would prefer to pick somewhere that has well trained dentist at an affordable price instead of the american price which is setup to enable the lavish lifestyle of some guy living in a mcmansion and driving a sport car, which is why the price is so high, you will never see a poor american dentist, and rarely will ever see one who does non-profit work, its all to maintain their lavish lifestyles here. ~~*they*~~ go into dental work to make a lot of money.

Ukraine is cheap but the dentistry is horror movie tier. Only go there if you're down to your bottom dollar and don't mind getting a couple teeth pulled.

Mexico. I've done my teeth in Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, Korea and China. Mexico for the price was by far the best. Korea was the best if you excluded by price. Just go to Mexico man. Thailand, Vietnam and China have no idea wtf they are doing.

I usually go to a dentist athens while I'm there, but never done any serious procedure. Normal cleaning and checkup is like 50 euros. But the usual go to place used to be Hungary, at least for boomers back b4 flying was cheap.

Mexico is a good choice but the quality of dentists varies a lot. Try to find one who expats or wealthy mexicans can vouch for. Some will have a website where they claim they speak the best english or went to school in the US but these are actually red flags because they're full of shit. As long as they went to a good Mexican university like Tec de Monterrey or unam they should be ok.

It is ridiculously hot down there now, but go to the village of Los Algodones, Baja California - right across from the Andrade, California border crossing. The town is nothing but dentists and eye doctors catering to snowbirds from all over the USA and Canada. This being the off season, you will be able to get done what you need to get done as soon as you walk in the door. Quality is very high, and prices are very competitive. Most people speak English in Los Algodones.
Flying halfway around the world to save a little money on dental care hardly meets the definition of "affordable". And you won't be able to enjoy the local cuisine on your trip if your mouth is all sore and healing from an operation.

I've heard really bad news about los algodones, a bunch of the so called "dentists" there are fly by night operations that just setup for a month or two and then when they get enough people complaining on google reviews or whatever they just shut down and re-open under a new name , new company etc. and never can be tracked down. I know that is not all of them but it seems like that town is a hotbed for dental scams to occur, where you are just paying money to someone and no clue what they are about to do or what their qualifications are. seems like it would be wiser to go to a non-tourist spot and actually just get some local dentist who caters to the general population and then you dont have to worry about that sort of thing, tourist dentist doesn't seem like a good idea tho, I would rather visit a local established dentist in a town that isn't 100% exclusively setup for dental tourism.

Mexicali has an entire neighborhood of doctors. Not sure about dentists.
My friend got a $1200 USD dental job done in Los Algodones. He was pretty happy with how it turned out; not perfect, but for the price and promptness of the service, it was done as well as they could.

Go to an established dentist with long-term advertising in the Yuma area, there are several. You can clearly tell by the office if the dentist is worth visiting, though even the best dentists have really stuffy offices - recirculated air. If you tell the touts the name of your dentist, they should leave you alone.

Yes you need to avoid the ones that advertise specifically to gringos. The good dentists have steady work and regular clients.

I have major problems, not sure if you saw my post but im having trouble eating food now. I went to a low cost clinic here in the US and they were going to do the root canals i needed but due to having curved roots they declined to do the work and wanted me to outsource to an expensive endodontist who specialize in root canals. i was quoted as needing thousands upon thousands in work, for root canals and crowns, i have a bunch of cracked and broken teeth, especially molars.

That could be an issue in the 3rd world if you require a specialist. Be really careful about where you go, you want someone from a top school (in that county) who is an orthodontic surgeon not just a dentist and is licensed as such.

Thanks for the info anon, you are replying all to me I am the OP and the person who needed all of this work done and had questions. I have a friend in Costa Rica I wouldn't mind flying down there and hanging out with him, he also speaks spanish so he could try and get me a discount or a specialist in the area if we meet up for the weekend or something and make some plans there. I met him through a car group I'm in and we talk a lot, he speaks perfect english and spanish. I wouldn't mind going there especially since the views hes shown me are beautiful, the springs and the vistas and mountains. It looks amazing. like a movie set or something.

Not sure how it compares to Thailand and Turkey. But Brazil, specially in São Paulo, has cheap and great quality dentistry. I pay 20 usd a month for dental insurance and get professional "cleaning" 4x per year. Whitening cost like 2-300 usd and even those people with horrible teeth (english tier) could get all of it redone in an upscale place for 5-10k. So if you only have a minor problems you would probably spent 10-15% of what you've been quoted in US.

Real talk, at his point it sounds like you'd be better off just extracting the stumps and getting dentures. The 20k+ quote is on par with what would be required in Canada if you're trying to get some fancy implants/a giant bridge to make up for all of your busted teeth. Even if you do get that kind of thing done, it requires maintenance/possible adjustment and fixing down the line. You gotta know when to fold em.

        stop eating sweets.
basically the stop eating modern US diet. It is there to make you weak and become a cash cow for the US Healthcare system.
on that note I will say it is just beginning, let the fun begin.

Also, as this post mentions, if you don't fix the root issue you're just throwing money down the drain.

Costa Rica is like a budget US, don't get scammed tho just 'cause you know some beaner who trawls car sites doesn't mean you can trust him. He speaks perfect English? Wow, did you read half the posts here about Mexishill doctors advertising just that? nah we've never spoken about anything regarding dental or healthcare or anything like that , we just talk a lot about motors, tuning, mountain biking and stuff, hes a pretty cool guy. its not what you're painting it to be, hes never asked anything of me. just a friendly guy from costa rica. he also used to live in the states when he was younger , that is why his english is very well spoken. I also have a friend in the states here who had that done with getting all his teeth pulled for dentures and he told me it was the worst mistake of his life, he said if he could go back in time he would have paid to get the teeth fixed. he warned me never to do it, and this is a guy i worked with for about a decade that i trust a lot. very upstanding guy. he told me its just such a problem dealing with dentures, they make you sick and gag a lot, they dont fit in the mouth right, the pastes , and trying to eat food, he also told me when hes at home he just removes them and eats without them most of the time. he was even ashamed to tell me at first he wore dentures, there is a big stigma against it too.

If you aren't driving, no point in visiting a border town like Los Algodones. Fly to a highland city like CDMX or GDL.
I got a severely impacted wisdom tooth - nearly perpendicular to the other teeth - removed by a local dental surgeon in Hermosillo, Sonora for a little over 300 USD. The dentist was a white Mexican who spoke great English and was extremely competent. My sister paid over 2000 USD for a less complex wisdom tooth removal in North Carolina.

oh yeah i will be flying and its going to cost about the same to do any flight, i already had my passport since like 3 years ago, i was going to do this before and then covid 19 hit, a lot of the airports and stuff shut down travel so i just kinda put it on the back burner, but now my teeth have gotten worse and im starting to take it more seriously now about traveling. i just have to decide upon a very good place to visit where i can find a decent dentist

I had my teeth cleaned in Lviv in 2020 and it was $10 USD and was on par with usa cleaning.
I walked into a dentist in Poland last week and it was $75 for cleaning. The tooth cleaner lady was hot but not $75 cleaning hot.
Lviv is still chill but like that anon said... maybe UA isnt good for deep teef work

I thought Thailand was gold. I don't even want to go for a cleaning in the US but I should to get a professional opinion, just going to ignore their nagging. I'm not sure if Korea is worth it but that sounds interesting. I want some thin lumineer type things.
