not a youtuber (this was before youtube even existed) but there was this travel show called madventures and it was absolutely fricking based
it was 2 sweedish (i think?) dudes that would travel the world but try to go to the most off beaten path.. the favelas of rio, ayahausca in peru, visiting chernobyl, the prisons of cambodia, etc etc. so many good episodes.
i loved the episode when they went to the prison in cambodia and paid the guards to shoot a cow with an rpg lol (maybe that was a different episode ? idr it was so long ago). then they interviewed a brittish pedofile that was in a cambodian prison for going there thinking he could frick lil boys.. show was crazy AF.
i vaguely remember one episode they were so unsure if what they were doing was safe they stiched a $10k diamond one of the guys skin so they would have an emergency hidden fund in case they got in the shit.
