They were NEVER like this. The no carry on price is the same as two bagged prices back in 2015. This shit is NUTS.

Welcome to late-stage capitalism hyper inflation. Well, either that or the fact that the airline industry is pulling itself back together after three years of limited passengers thanks to le coof. Prices are pretty insane though, not trying to make excuses for it.
>nooo i cant do my climate destructive hobby cheaply anymore...
>this is late stage capitalism!
maybe if the environmental externalities of flying were factored in, flights would've been this much all along
Give it a break, you absolute gimp.
The flights aren't expensive because the flight providers are now doing extensive environmental action, but because the companies are inefficient and greedy
>central banking
>massive government subsidies
>government intervention and heavy regulation of virtually every industry
>capitalism
moronic Black person
It's socialism for the rich and they are destroying the working and middle classes in the process of line going up because stonks
have a nice day wumao shill
Idk shit looks the same to me before June and after August. Where are you flying out from?
western US to central Europe.
Ah, yeah I imagine the prices look the same as Asia does for me flying out of Florida. Have you thought about flying to a closer airport and taking a flight out of that one?
Prices are 3x what a reasonable rate would be pre covid
Yeah, it was more expensive than right now in the 90s and 00s.
Depends.
The domestic flights I take every 10 days are half of what I used to pay before covid.
East Asia is pretty rough right now due to the lack of flights. There are still too few flights and nearly not as many as before. It's still barely at half of what it used to be, thus driving prices up.
I am going to East Asia next month and it's almost double of what I used to pay.
In summer it's totally double, and even triple in some cases. Avoid summer 2023 at all costs.
Irs either turkiye or SEA and I would rather do turkey in better shape. Either way life only seems to take joys away
Has anyone flown Norse Atlantic to LGW? I know you have to pay for a carry on but is it like WOW air no water shitty?
it was alright
oh get over it
a generation ago people had to save for months to get a flight
now i can travel half way round the world on a day's pay
So a CEO can keep living his 0.0000001% lifestyle while you slave away to afford your summer vacation. It is what it is.
Based, some day I'll be a CEO. The system works
Replace "CEO" by "Putin" and you've got your answer.
Why would Putin be interested in high airfare?
Russians sell oil and gas at steep discounts.
I dunno, maybe the threat of looming ww3 makes prices go up?
You mean western nations putting embargos on Russian oil makes prices go up?
Maybe if cuckden and Israel didn’t force them to intervene in Ukraine we would have cheap flights
moron(s)
Hi can I get a timeslot for a viewing on that rentfree apartment upstairs? Russians only? No problemo
It's not fair
>fly US carrier like shitspirit or floptier from the east coast
>150 dollars round trip to vegas plus tip
eurobro's
>fly london to Paris
>completely different country with tons of history, good people, food, and culture
>25 quid
Why
Because the distance in burgerstan is almost 10x longer
Because that distance is only some hours even by car?
Minneapolis to Chicago is dirt cheap too. Same distance as London to Paris.
Because Yuro airlines actually have to compete with fast bullet trains and cheap AF buses
I genuinely can't imagine living thousands of kilometers from the nearest border.
I can reach two different countries within less than a two hour drive and I do so frequently just for the hell of it - eat something different, check out the shop shelves, hear a different language, forget my own country for a moment. Makes for a nice weekend.
Those massive swathes of empty land in America must be suffering.
>Those massive swathes of empty land in America must be suffering.
Those are the parts of the country too where people never leave and maybe 10% of them tops have a passport.
Don't complain. Try being stuck in fricking Australia
I actually get mad
>stuck
you are right next to all the places i want to go
Europoor here, flight prices have gone up significantly here as well. I paid over 240 euros for a flight from Barcelona to Palermo and back last month, before Covid this would have been at least 50% cheaper.
The plandemic changed everything. Now you need to wait for the plannedcession for prices to come back to earth.
IF IT SAVES A SINGLE BOOMER
I WILL PAY 3X MORE TO FLY TO BANGKOK
Flights are planned to be banned by globohomosexual in the future anyway. Part of UN Agenda 21. These are the last decades of travel
globalists fear the sail rider
What? Tourism is a massive part of just about every countries economy, they dedicate tons of money to making their country attractive to tourists so they'll visit.
paid $1200 for a round trip from LAX to japan, years ago it was like $900 so I guess not that bad considering.
Zipair still does under 1k but it's basic, once china air starts doing flights again prices should be much easier on the wallet.
>China eastern airlines for 400 dollars RT from LAX/NRT
I miss that bros
that's why i'm only able to travel to japan using my saved up united points, otherwise i'm not paying these ridiculous prices
I'm doing my first international flight. It's gonna be around 1200 give or take. Don't know if it's a scam but gonna be chilling for a month
poorgays FILTERED
And nothing of value was lost
Not a bad way to look at it tbh. Definitely softens the blow of paying an extra £400 to Thailand. It's basically how things were back in the 90s, so maybe now certain destinations wont feel so much like the Costa del Sol.
Only good thing about 2020 was how cheap flights were.
>Traveled a bunch during covid
>Traveled a bunch while this board reee'd about clot shot
Seemed cheap to me, still is if you're smart about it
fuel dumping is the way
how many times are you going to post this thing, also fuel dumping isn't always viable for people to bank on.
Post it yet again insecure homo
Someone give me the qrd on this poster
>posts it like every japan general
>doesn't elaborate on the gotcha's of this type of travel
>just posts a low fare for you's
It's like pic related
Yeah it's cheap to go to Japan one way and get back on whatever cheap ass flight you can find, but without mentioning no real food service, pay for every upgrade, only limited to 1 personal + 1 carry on and they are anal about weight, will charge for extra checked bags by weight, no in flight entertainment(but free wifi), and so on; It's fairly useless to just post "low fare here".
Fuel Dumping is a lot about the ability to be 100% flexible on dates and airports that you can pull this on. It's not exactly a 'gamble' per se but it's about as useful as telling people "LOL DUDE EZ WAY TO GET CHEAP FLIGHTS IS JUST ALWAYS ELECT TO BE BOOTED OF A PLANE FOR FLIGHT VOUCHERS!". Sure it's possible to do so and will lower the cost, but to most people fuel dumping isn't a realistic way for viable travel.
fak
Kinda funny but it’s a decent idea for people who solo travel
Even then it's not ideal unless you have fully flexible dates with your job. Digital Nomading opens up some opportunity but still you're stuck on a plane with possibly spotty internet and resources.
That fuel dump price is for a round trip, not a one-way ticket.
Fun thing is this homosexual didn’t even book it but got the pic from secreyflying.com LMAO
This really isn’t a bad thing if it means less backpackers
Carbon taxes and various other climate change frickery hidden under the guise of 'inflation' and 'putin'. Shit you even have AMS stopping late night flights now because of 'climate change'. They HATE you flying. Flights for the masses won't be a thing at the turn of the century. It's only going to get more expensive until it becomes unfeasible for most the population.
good. I want flying to be insanely expensive. Imagine if a flight from Europe to Asia was so expensive, only the super rich could afford it. Travelling would go back to the old explorer days where it takes months of overland travel to reach a far away mysterious land. travel would be great again. travel vloggers would perish.
good. i work remote and do my trips 3 months at a time so the extra $400 for a plane ticket is trivial. lick my balls you two week homosexuals, stay home.
Do you morons unironically pay for flights instead of just using credit cards points?
I hope it keeps going up so these passport bro apes stop simping for third world prostitutes and driving cooming prices up
This. $300 for Argentinian pussy is ridiculous.
What? No way, last time I heard argentinian pussy is the cheapest in LATAM at the moment due to hyperinflation
I pay for the really high end stuff, plastic bimbos with fake breasts and BBL's.
I just booked flights for me and gf to Hawaii next year. Paid with miles for one half and the return was 400 per person
>he doesn't use his sailboat for overseas travel
ngmi
>buy flight from GRU to PDX with 2 stops $900
>buy flight from GRU to SFO, and then to PDX only 1 stop $500
makes sense
I hate southwest after the last year but I have something like $1700 in flight credits from canceled flights and southwest apologizing. Flights that cost $390-$450 round trip six months ago are now $600 or more
Flights aren't much more expensive than I remember. I recently checked ticket prices from New York City to Berlin. Tickets are quite expensive--going up to $500 one-way--but decline significantly after summer's end.
Last year, for instance, I flew from N.Y.C. to Berlin for $175 one-way, and then from Berlin to New Delhi for an additional $350. Looking on SkyScanner, there are many similar flights in September and October, with prices rising only throughout the summer months.
I don't see anything particularly surprising in this.
Demand is extremely high right now. I fly a lot for work, often to shitty regional airports. Flights that 5 years ago had 35 people on them now are nearly full. Everyone is making up for lost time after being stuck at home for two years
