I am in Lisbon and was in Spain before. Maybe I am a c**t, didn't have any issue with your neighbors. I could accept the weird hostile reactions some of the locals give me (I am white, but from the country which pays your bills, which might explain things), but got my first experience with third world police here. Tackling, cuffing, wrongful detention, being cuffed for hours without phone, for nothing (I know it's nothing because they changed their official justification to something else later). Courts are striking as well (what a shitshow!), so my only recourse is at least warning others not to go there. I mention Spain not as an insult, but as a viable alternative where you won't have police kneeling on your neck, informing you this is not your country, for refusing to unlock your phone.

Also they didn't let me cancel my rented scooter thing, which continued to pay. "Should have considered that before" they told me. All of them excessively hostile, not EU worthy.

But I have already ramped up my shilling of Germany leaving the EU (from zero to daily), and am dilligently spreading the word about this shithole as well. the only thing Portugal has above them is food, its also a great place with lots to do and see, but spain just has more, and in better condition, and they preserve their traditions far better
